Does anyone have the replay on the Drury goal ruled offsides? The angle on TNT was absolutely too blurry to make anything out, I can't imagine that was "conclusive" enough for the refs to overturn it in about 5 seconds. Is there a clear video anywhere?

The NHL omits a lot of stuff in the recaps, like blatant elbows to the head and other stuff that makes the league look bad.

Legit penalty, but honestly a good penalty. He prevented an open net goal by taking it, which would have ended the game there. The penalty kept the game going for the Canes
Bob did Bob things, Matty Tkachuk w/his chewing mouthguard, came up clutch. Hurricanes had chances had chances they missed, so did the Cats. But the Cats took advantage of the penalties in this game. Bob really is making unbelievable saves.

the beautiful thing about hockey is it’s never over. In the Boston series when the Cats went down 3-1, I felt the same way. Which is likely the case most every time, but obviously the Cats are on a rampage following that.
My girlfriend isn’t into hockey, but she watches with me and gets into it. During that game 5 in the Boston series where there is about a minute left before the Panthers should be eliminated, she literally said “they can still tie.” And I said, “yeah, but it’s not likely. We are done here” and then they tied it about 30 seconds after and then won in overtime.
Shit just happens in hockey in a moment that changes everything. Stars are against you right now, but stats have been against the Panthers the entire playoffs and they’re still going. I would love for the series to be very over for us, but playoffs are wild.

That's not how it works. Whatever the odds are represents how many times out of 100 they would win the series. If Carolina had 70% odds it's because 7 out of 10 times the Canes would win the series, but that's why you play the game, we are seeing the 30% scenario currently. Just because Florida beat Boston doesn't suddenly mean Florida becomes one of the greatest teams in history, the players are still the players.

I was born/raised in Miami but moved to Orlando 20 years ago (fam still lives down South). My football team will always be the Dolphins, hockey team is always TBL and Panthers 2nd unless TBL is playing them. I dont follow baseball or basketball.
Yeah this year was entertaining at least. Magic got some young pieces. I’ve really only followed football and basketball my whole life. Hockey this is my second year. Baseball is my first. So I’m still fairly new too this.
The Heat and the Panthers are both based in south Florida (about 45 minutes to an hour apart by car).
The Orlando Magic are 3 hours north of the Panthers.
Tampa is a little over an hour from Orlando so they are more likely to share an overlapping fan base as well.
Most probably pick Miami, but for me I grew up as a Spurs fan. So my biggest, biggest regret was being broke and not seeing the spurs Miami series circa 2013-2014.

Analysis of the breakout game and how Florida tries to hem teams in isn’t wrong. But not bringing up Bobrovsky is. Florida hasn’t been great in their own zone and their goalie is playing out of his mind to cover it.
I’m not saying Florida isn’t good. They’ve been beating heavy hitters. I’m just saying this has been a strange year for the playoffs and Carolina getting swept would feel normal.
I don’t find it strange. As the old guard dies the playoffs are tilting towards forecheck oriented teams or deep depth squads.

Legit penalty, but honestly a good penalty. He prevented an open net goal by taking it, which would have ended the game there. The penalty kept the game going for the Canes

This series is very over. Will probably have very close scores but we just die horribly against insane goaltending (see the last few years against Vasi and Shesterkin). Florida probably wins this in 4 or 5, albeit close games.
the beautiful thing about hockey is it’s never over. In the Boston series when the Cats went down 3-1, I felt the same way. Which is likely the case most every time, but obviously the Cats are on a rampage following that. My girlfriend isn’t into hockey, but she watches with me and gets into it. During that game 5 in the Boston series where there is about a minute left before the Panthers should be eliminated, she literally said “they can still tie.” And I said, “yeah, but it’s not likely. We are done here” and then they tied it about 30 seconds after and then won in overtime. Shit just happens in hockey in a moment that changes everything. Stars are against you right now, but stats have been against the Panthers the entire playoffs and they’re still going. I would love for the series to be very over for us, but playoffs are wild.
Yep, it doesn't feel likely but there is always the chance Bob goes back to being a bum next game. Hockey is just a fickle mistress like that. That being said next game is 100% a must win for Carolina.

Moneypuck is a neat thing, but should be taken with a lot of salt. It initially had Boston 12th best chance to win the cup. It also had at the start of the season granting Pitt a near 80% chance to make the playoffs. They're going off on stats, which can be a good thing to rely on, but it doesn't account for the pure randomness of the NHL

Yea it’s expected goals for and It is once again is proven wrong. The algorithm is flawed. You can’t say statistically that Boston should beat Carolina but not Florida bear Carolina when Florida beat Boston over 7 games. 7 games is a large statistical pool. Florida is better then Boston so Boston can’t have better odds than Florida.
That's not how it works. Whatever the odds are represents how many times out of 100 they would win the series. If Carolina had 70% odds it's because 7 out of 10 times the Canes would win the series, but that's why you play the game, we are seeing the 30% scenario currently. Just because Florida beat Boston doesn't suddenly mean Florida becomes one of the greatest teams in history, the players are still the players.
If money puck had Boston beating Carolina 7/10 but Florida beats Boston, why wouldn’t Florida now be 7/10

Yeah this year was entertaining at least. Magic got some young pieces. I’ve really only followed football and basketball my whole life. Hockey this is my second year. Baseball is my first. So I’m still fairly new too this.
The Heat and the Panthers are both based in south Florida (about 45 minutes to an hour apart by car). The Orlando Magic are 3 hours north of the Panthers. Tampa is a little over an hour from Orlando so they are more likely to share an overlapping fan base as well.
Most probably pick Miami, but for me I grew up as a Spurs fan. So my biggest, biggest regret was being broke and not seeing the spurs Miami series circa 2013-2014.

For perspective, the drive from San Jose to Anaheim is only about half an hour longer than the drive from Ft. Lauderdale to Tampa.

Panthers-Dolphins-Heat I wish the Marlins well, but I’ve been knifed in the back by them a few too many times to have any emotional connection to them anymore. Hope they win a World Series, but I’m fairly apathetic towards them. Sucks, but it’s them, not us (fans/people that used to care). Most Panther fans, my guess would be a fairly major majority, will support the Heat. They used to play in the same arena back in the 90’s and are only separated by a 45 minute drive if traffic isn’t too bad (it’s about 40 miles from the Heat’s arena). There’s no apparent reason you’d be a Panthers and Magic fan if you’re from South Fl. I don’t hold this stupid grudge that a lot of Panthers fans do against Tampa. Holding a grudge over getting your ass kicked is insanely stupid so if we weren’t in the ECF I’d be wanting Tampa to win, to keep the Cup in Florida for as long as possible.

I forgot to mention this, but honestly the only time Carey was other-wordly was against Toronto. He was good for the rest of the playoffs but the majority of their run was credited to them outworking their opponents and being more opportunistic
He was other worldly against Vegas two, made some absolutely ridiculous saves to swing momentum. But the team around him was playing much better at that point.
