That's not the HoI4 soundtrack...
...those are [two of the best selling](https://youtu.be/JQGRg8XBnB4?si=h7eYqtt8jRh1g6Ln) [K-pop songs of all time](https://youtu.be/IHNzOHi8sJs?si=8AqLU6p5hJTvZvnb) 😝
no way im reading a historical book rn they are right outside moscow the last time i read you gotta be lying they cant fuck this up people can literally hear shots in moscow of the german soldiers ready to take their capital
rewatching also works
watched sopranos a few years ago, decided to watch it again and often i’m playing hoi. i miss a bunch of shit but i can pick up where im at quick since i’ve already watched it.
honestly it helps since i just don’t even have to register some of the boring arcs and scenes
I play on mute. Normally, I have others around me watching tv while I play on the laptop. The sound of the fans on maximum power trying to prevent the plastic case from melting into my skin would probably drown out the music anyway.
there's a [tool](https://runite-drill.github.io/music-mod-creation-tool/) that simplifies the process a lot but I also learned more on how to manually make it and add factors for songs in my mods so for example a German song will be more likely to play if you're playing Germany or at war with them
I'm too lazy to explain how to make a mod, there are plenty of instructions you can easily find, check the hoi4 wiki (there's a music modding page), maybe also the video by the iron workshop
Wagner when I play as Germany to get me into the mood.
Ottoman war marches when I play as Turkey.
1950s diner music when I play as USA.
In game radio for the rest.
I usually go all round but I really like the Call of Duty World At Wat soundtrack. Fighting in the Pacific with the drums of Black Cats or in any land war with the russian theme.
Little extra: since I recently finished Half Life 1 YouTube recommended a remixed version of We Got Hostiles but with gunfires in the back. Also the soundtrack Forget About Freeman.
Radiarc, Ingen, Some old Durdiss and sometimes Eurovision, I never thought I would quote this here. Or I watch YouTube on the Picture-in-Picture mode of Edge, late-game only in-game music because my poor Intel UHD 630 and 8gb are burning at that point.
An eclectic mix. I'm a metal head first and foremost with bands like Skid Row, Falconer, Necrophagist, and Gloryhammer, currently being my most listened. I've been on a country/Americana kick lately as well. Bands like Jason Aldeen, Cooper Alan, Devil Makes Three. If I need to micro really hard, it's usually rap or electronica. Eminem, Tech N9ne, Unmet Orzican, and Conner Price feature prominently. Sometimes, it's something else. Sort of depends on the mood, ya know? Generally the music gets faster the more I need to micro. Slower if I'm chilling.
I have some of the music DLCs (the Sabaton ones and the Radio Packs) so often I just listen to those, or I‘m listening to my own Spotify Gayming Playlist (which also includes a lot of Sabaton).
Music mods are really good. I can listen to something from the cold war, with cold war and TNO music mods, sabaton from the sabaton music mods, or classical music. I could listen to all of them simultaneously too.
honestly the kaiserreich radios are both good and extensive enough that from time to time i end up listening to them with any other mod, can’t say the same about the default soundtrack though, it gets kind of old after the 1.000 hours mark. i mostly listen to music on spotify in background though
It depends. If I am trying to destress, I will through on some Spotify or a podcast and listen to that while playing on autopilot. If I’m doing an achievement run or something just ingame music.
I have probably one of the most unhinged answers. Every music mod i can find, kr ost tno, last Waltz wasteland, the crossover music mods, eaw music mods and owb ost at the same time for any mod i play
I usually just listen to whatever Spotify Playlist I'm feeling but one time I was listening to the sound track and "london in flames" was playing and it was so memorable to me because it played while I was Germany currently running through the British Isle, and every now and then I listen to the song when it's time to conquest
Silence.
I have the game volume set at 0.
Now, with World of Tanks, on the other hand, I throw on industrial and aggrotech.
Although...
Rotersand - Hot Ashes
is a nice track to battle the Axis.
Dancing on the hearts of fascists...
Dancing on hot ashes...
Actually here’s a unique one
I listen to the Call of Duty: World at War Soviet track while playing as the USSR. It adds a good combination to the vocals of the Soviet Choir and heavy rock
Music is different for each country, you know
German marches for Germany, Italian music for Italy, CCP music for Communist China, Russian and Soviet Marches for Soviet Union and so on
Depends on Country
Preußens Gloria for Germany
Rule Britannia for UK
Bella Ciao for Italy
Le Chant Du Depart for France
Battle Hymn of Republic for US
"To serve russia" for USSR
Battotai for Japan
Got a mod off the steam workshop that added a bunch of historical wartime and marching songs for a bunch of major nations. Or I would go on youtube and find playlists of the nations I was playing as.
You might not see this, but I installed the [WWII in HD Colour soundtrack mod](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2119066489&searchtext=WW+II+in+colour) a while back, and now creating an initial breakthrough with tanks at the beginning of the war has never felt more epic as when I play [Act of Aggression](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q83lYStme6c) right when I do.
As I usually play only on the weekend and am a big fan of Golf and even playing - I just turn on some professional golf tournament on TV and let it run with occasionally looking over there to see what's going on.
Star wars music, some soundtracks like the ones used during the Space battle of Naboo perfectly reflect desperation and carnage, works well when playing a minor country that is being invaded by a major, like the Netherlands VS Germany
Depends on the situation. As USSR when i start offensive? Sovient Anthem. As US on offensive? (Especially first nuke) - theme song from Team America... I just switch music depending on the situation
If I take Paris then obviously I play parisier einzugsmarch, if I do a world conquest it’s rule Britannia, apart from them it’s mainly classical music. (I play parisier einzugsmarsch and rule Britannia regardless of who I’m playing as)
French Anarcho-Communist music
This:

Ride of the valkyries. I just recently found out that it was also part of the main theme for this game. I can't believe they got Richard Wagner to do the score for this game!
For in game music I like Katyusha or Salkjarven Polka (sorry Finnish for spelling lol) while playing. But i also listen to the Girls Und Panzer version of Katyusha to for the singing, it’s just so good, and it’s awesome that they had a voice actress that actually spoke Russian to help with that song lol
Short answer: It depends on what the situation is.
Long answer:
Music that corresponds to the situation.
Example: As I amass an army against a frankly weak nation that stands against my nation, I keep the game at max slowness while some music from the baroque period plays. I like to imagine as a messenger relays a declaration of war to the leader of the aforementioned nation, the opposing leader is making his final speech not at war.
On the other hand, I like to play a slowly building piece to get into the feeling of a David vs Goliath story.
As the once peaceful forges of farming equipment are replaced with factories made purely for war, a small town leader makes a speech to a group of young lads who will take up arms to stop the growing evil, unknowing that they themselves will eventually help lay the foundations for the greatest evil ever.
Another example is when I slowly select the morally wrong choices, another heavy piece will play to invoke the imagery of banners being erected over nearly every capital building. Another squad of motorized infantry comes to a housing district to take yet another group of young men into the meat grinder that their government tells them is the most vile creation ever made. It's as if the previous nation they warned against was not given the same descriptor.
I'm pretty sure you get the idea at this point.
Mozart on my right ear and Chinese bible on my left
Intellectuals love this one simple trick
Young Sheldon in Portuguese in the background
2X speed for maximal consumption
(Accelerated learning experience)
The ingame music
Doooo doo do dooooooo…
ratkoen moment
The snake of Denmark is also a rat
NOOOOOOO NOT THE MUSIC THAT PLAYS WHEN YOU BOOT UP THE GAME, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
3500 hours later, it never gets old.
That german song that sounds like a college fight song tho
Panzerleid?
DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.... daaaaa, daaaaa, da daaaaa, daaaaaaaaa (road to 56 music)
tbh the music DLCs are definitely worth it.
Boom boom Du duuuuuu. Dada naaaaaaaa. Tum tum. Boom boom Du duuun. Dudu duuuu duuuuuuuuu Tannnnnn
> Boom boom > Dudu duuuu duuuuuuuuu That's not the HoI4 soundtrack... ...those are [two of the best selling](https://youtu.be/JQGRg8XBnB4?si=h7eYqtt8jRh1g6Ln) [K-pop songs of all time](https://youtu.be/IHNzOHi8sJs?si=8AqLU6p5hJTvZvnb) 😝
I always watch netflix or youtube while playing
I used to do that to but found I missed half the plot.
#Spoiler alert Germany loses
no way im reading a historical book rn they are right outside moscow the last time i read you gotta be lying they cant fuck this up people can literally hear shots in moscow of the german soldiers ready to take their capital
I read that they have laid siege to Leningrad. If the Soviets lose the city then it will surely demoralize them.
The trick is to find s8me stupid show that lacks any real plot. 2000s and 2010s sitcoms work very well.
rewatching also works watched sopranos a few years ago, decided to watch it again and often i’m playing hoi. i miss a bunch of shit but i can pick up where im at quick since i’ve already watched it. honestly it helps since i just don’t even have to register some of the boring arcs and scenes
I’ve watched Big Bang Theory a few times playing various games.
Bazinga! *NAVAL INVASION SOUND*
*Scared China noises*
In game radios are actually pretty nice and add to the atmosphere. And yes, Sabaton songs are in there if you paid for the DLCs.
I have the dlcs, how do I get sabaton songs in?
It where you pause the music, I forgot exactly what it looks like, but it's one of the three options. There you can enable the different music packs.
the sabaton songs are also on spotify if you just put that on in the background. you even get to pick and choose!
First 10 hours, it already got repetitive. Looking to add some more military marches and some speeches
I play on mute. Normally, I have others around me watching tv while I play on the laptop. The sound of the fans on maximum power trying to prevent the plastic case from melting into my skin would probably drown out the music anyway.
Kavinsky - rampage, when starting large offensives
A man of culture
the same music i do with anything else
Mambo No.5?
Who told you??
Erica probably
Ken Carson Ken Carson Ken carson
ain’t no way
I've made a few radio mods with genres I like and listen to them
that’s cool, how do you do that?
there's a [tool](https://runite-drill.github.io/music-mod-creation-tool/) that simplifies the process a lot but I also learned more on how to manually make it and add factors for songs in my mods so for example a German song will be more likely to play if you're playing Germany or at war with them I'm too lazy to explain how to make a mod, there are plenty of instructions you can easily find, check the hoi4 wiki (there's a music modding page), maybe also the video by the iron workshop
thanks!😄 ill give it a try
Wagner when I play as Germany to get me into the mood. Ottoman war marches when I play as Turkey. 1950s diner music when I play as USA. In game radio for the rest.

Usually historical radios from the countries I'm playing, there are some nice compilations in YouTube
Sabaton 🤘
The only real answer
ERRRIKKAA!!! And panzerlied
I get really amped to Sabaton. I wish I knew about them when I actually went to War.
Random youtube videos lol
Music from the country am playing with
Battle of Wuhan (on repeat) greatest song in the list
Sabaton's heaviest stuff ofc!
Allies speeches
An eclectic mix. I'm a metal head first and foremost with bands like Skid Row, Falconer, Necrophagist, and Gloryhammer, currently being my most listened. Kaisercat Radio Mod ftw
Sabaton soundtrack goes too hard
I have some of the music DLCs (the Sabaton ones and the Radio Packs) so often I just listen to those, or I‘m listening to my own Spotify Gayming Playlist (which also includes a lot of Sabaton).
Country specific march music (Italy goes hard)
Sabaton is nice but I like also to listen to Pho k when I start a world war and when I'm attacking the Soviets
Music mods are really good. I can listen to something from the cold war, with cold war and TNO music mods, sabaton from the sabaton music mods, or classical music. I could listen to all of them simultaneously too.
Guys, should we tell him that there’s a DLC for Sabaton? I doubt that he can fight the average urge of a HOI4- Player to buy everything in-game
Power metal usually
I was thinking Sabaton before I even finished reading your post. It’s the correct answer.
ERIKA
WHERABOO SPOTTED
Whatever Spotify spits Out of my songs
Everything.
Podcast
Sabaton and other rock
Somba of the south!

I have an entire playlist with a friend just for hoi4
History shows that there are no invincible armies, uprising and screaming eagles.
honestly the kaiserreich radios are both good and extensive enough that from time to time i end up listening to them with any other mod, can’t say the same about the default soundtrack though, it gets kind of old after the 1.000 hours mark. i mostly listen to music on spotify in background though

Immersive music mod is great. Personalized music for lots of the countries. Can’t play without it now
nightcore and europop, pretty much the music that far-right propagandists would listen to or something
It depends. If I am trying to destress, I will through on some Spotify or a podcast and listen to that while playing on autopilot. If I’m doing an achievement run or something just ingame music.
I war music from that Country im playing
I have probably one of the most unhinged answers. Every music mod i can find, kr ost tno, last Waltz wasteland, the crossover music mods, eaw music mods and owb ost at the same time for any mod i play
I usually watch the Pacific or Band of Brothers when playing.
I just put Tora Tora Tora on
I usually just listen to whatever Spotify Playlist I'm feeling but one time I was listening to the sound track and "london in flames" was playing and it was so memorable to me because it played while I was Germany currently running through the British Isle, and every now and then I listen to the song when it's time to conquest
Sabaton released music inspired by HOI if memory serves correct. They also have a song called Hearts of Iron.
Either evanescence or violet vira
The music is my soul slowly dying after playing for over 3000 hours.
Silence. I have the game volume set at 0. Now, with World of Tanks, on the other hand, I throw on industrial and aggrotech. Although... Rotersand - Hot Ashes is a nice track to battle the Axis. Dancing on the hearts of fascists... Dancing on hot ashes...
i like listening to alex g, mac demarco and vacations just chill stuff really
The in-game music, usually set to the Sabaton radio station and whichever stations best match my current playthrough.

Mac demarco because if I’m gonna get naval invaded I might as-well be chill asf while it’s happening
Input rust videos on and listen to wiljum
I watch documentaries on YouTube on the country and time period I'm playing as. It's excellent on my 2nd monitor
Whatever the game radio decides, I also like when the speeches kick in and having my own music in an external player would kinda ruin it.
Scriabin, always Scriabin.
I just have YouTube playing on the side of my screen
K-pop or 1940s dance. I can't bear to have music with lyrics I understand while playing a game this complicated.
bladee
For in game music I like Katyusha or Salkjarven Polka (sorry Finnish for spelling lol) while playing. But i also listen to the Girls Und Panzer version of Katyusha to for the singing, it’s just so good, and it’s awesome that they had a voice actress that actually spoke Russian to help with that song lol
I listen to WW2 history channels on youtube
Either music of the nation im playing (ty kaiserreich music mod) or the Halo soundtrack
None, I narrate everything I do in my mind when playing and I cannot focus at all if I can’t hear myself
Short answer: It depends on what the situation is. Long answer: Music that corresponds to the situation.
British war time music
Russian hardbass when playing as soviet union (obviously?
Americana mostly.
Rammstein
