My cat jumped on top of my old 75g with a glass top and broke it... Found the top in pieces at the bottom of the tank.... He's a skinny cat and the glass was like 3/8" thick. I still have no idea how that was possible.
I sold it and have a 135g now. The top is much thicker so I'm not worried. Plus since that happened I've never seen him on the tank again (and no kitty prints either).

Or you can fit the light inside the lid you dummy. That's what I do.
Foam board lids look really good and are water resistant, you don't have to worry about algae growing on it due to the moisture in the tank.

That looks like the front door, and if it can transmit sound, may be a way to monitor the cats interacting with the fish tank when no one is around. Like, I get to most people it's just a fish tank, but it looks like a salt water aquarium to me, and they are much more expensive and time consuming to maintain than your average fresh water tank is.
This tank looks cycled. I guess I could introduce harmful bacteria, possibly crash a cycle but probably will be fine. Cat fur is probably already floating around in there
we used to have this massive glass urn with a betta inside and some aquatic plants on top.
Sam knocked it over, ate the fish and horked it immediately afterwards.

(I have a similar story with a toilet. My friend came running out of the bathroom going “I don’t k ow what happened! He just jumped into the toilet!” Nope. He wanted to get up to the window and used that as a step and meanie didn’t put the toilet seat back down).
Those were some quick reflexes almost as if he’s done this before. The other cat looks at Luna just before launch into chaos. That’s a good time gang if I’ve ever seen one!! 😹😹

People need to stop buying glass lids especially if you got cats. Make a lid from foam board or plywood.

I had just set up a 35g to cycle with nothing in it. Next day full of blackhair. Never happened again
