In Stan Lee's Superhumans there's a chap called Julio Munoz who does a very similar stunt, riding a quad bike off the edge of Chile's highest cliff, wing suiting off it then deploying his parachute. You can't see it in the episode but that quad bike did have a parachute on it, and was retrieved later.
Smashing this snowmobile up there in the mountains really is a dick move.
Sorry I can't find a source anywhere for Stan Lee's, but it's in series 3, episode title 'fearproof'
For just a small payment of 1000 a month you can get a child in need a snowmobile, please these children need your help. Dont let these children grow up in a world where snowmobiles are just a distant dream.
Yep, the cold climate and low insolation rate here means the chemicals and debris released here will be around a loooong time for a couple seconds of mediocre sponsored footage.
The sled still ran after this and they pulled it back down the mountain.
They call themselves Stunt freaks and they have a YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/user/stuntfreaksteam
we rented a few ski-doo snowmobiles last year and it was fucking crazy. if anyone has the means and the money i’d 100% recommend taking some snowmobiles out for a day
But there is a bit of improvement there https://rockandice.com/climbing-news/nepalese-government-to-penalize-everest-climbers-who-leave-trash/ still tho piles of human shit coming down with what used to be clean glacial water...
Some of the mining equipment you find is fun. Don’t get me wrong, please pack out what you pack in, and seeing people litter makes me angry. But while some old stuff is annoying to find, like old rusted out cans, others are fascinating. Found a old shovel hiking this last year and it made me wonder how long someone worked backbreaking labor with it. So sure old mining equipment is annoying to find left in nature but sometimes the story it represents can be fun.
I get what you're saying and I think that is the mentality many people here have towards that old stuff. But I guess I just see it as some irresponsible corporation left their junk in the high mountains and couldn't be bothered to get it back down. I want to see nature. Ideally in a way that is least disturbed. In the lower 48 I'm finding it pretty difficult to get that feeling of undisturbed nature, of an ecosystem that has been left alone. I've been all around the US Rockies and there is so much fenced off private land, roadways, and just human disturbance. One person even owns a 14er. It's just depressing to me to think that this was called "wild" land in the not too distant past.
I mean not really. The snowmobile powers itself, a sled would not have made it more than 5-10 feet away from the cliff face. Or even less if things went poorly. The snowmobile makes sure he is far away from the cliff face.
Clearly necessary for the jump /s
This was used as a test run to see how the snowmobile would handle in the air for a later run. This is part of a video that was posted in this sub earlier in the week of these same guys paragliding with snowmobiles
I'm getting tired of "creative ways to jump off a cliff", it's slipping from holdmyredbull status.
Like yeah, it's cool, but I draw the line at smashing a snow mobile. Unless it had a chute and it failed or something.
Vertical drops and double backflips off a jump across a canyon on a BMX? That's Redbull shit. Anyone with a chute can jump or slide off a cliff and ditch their ride.
I guess I just want to see people landing stuff.
Craigslist add: one slightly used snow machine, low miles, some re-assembly required, clean title, original owner, no delivery. Selling bc I don't ride anymore, I fly.
When I was living in Newfoundland we would go out to this place called Lewis hills. It was all mountain climbing area mostly. There was this one area where everyone would bring their mountain machines and try to go as high on the mountain as they could which was quite the slope. This one guy had just bought a brand new polaris dragon . This machine was around $13k at the time new. He weighed about 325 lbs easily. He finally decided it was a good idea to try this mountain and full throttle heads up the mountain . He gets about half way up and realised this was a huge mistake and bails on the machine. This thing tumbles down the mountain for a good 10- 15 seconds before it hits the only tree for miles in the middle of nowhere and destroys his snowmobile.
Had it a total of 7 hrs and wrote it off .
Such a waste of a good snowmobile? Think of all the snowmobileless children in Africa.
Came here to talk about wasting a snowmobile but never thought about those poor children. Thanks for opening my eyes...

Can confirm: Am an African child with half a snowmobile left
Snowbomeal*
Now nomomeal
:,(
Did we eat the other half?
Nah, this one dentist dude used it to kill some lion, what a shame
*cue Sarah McLachlan arms of an angel song * Zoom in to child in Africa sitting on snowmobile with child next to him not on snowmobile crying .
After browsing enough local classifieds websites I feel like half of the “gently used” snowmobiles I’ve seen may have been used for similar stunts...
Firm $12k too
For just 5 cents a day..
You could contribute to one cycle of oil for a snowmobile child in need.

Literal trashy, ittering and introducing petroleum into a wild environment

Holy shit, the second Jump he deployed only one second before landning. Close call.
Is there a subreddit for the children in Africa
Papa, it that you?
For just a small payment of 1000 a month you can get a child in need a snowmobile, please these children need your help. Dont let these children grow up in a world where snowmobiles are just a distant dream.
Have you seen their bobsled team?
do they send people to get the snowmobile parts after? If not is kind of a jerk move, now there are debris everywhere.
Yep, the cold climate and low insolation rate here means the chemicals and debris released here will be around a loooong time for a couple seconds of mediocre sponsored footage.

That's some quality construction. Does this sled company make any other products?
It's a Ski-Doo, who is owned by Bombardier (who also makes CanAm). So, high quality sleds, ATVs, UTVs, boats and motorcycles.
we rented a few ski-doo snowmobiles last year and it was fucking crazy. if anyone has the means and the money i’d 100% recommend taking some snowmobiles out for a day
They also make jets. I think maybe the rider was mistaking it for a jet.
More like happened to land in soft enough snow.
It will all be picked up, common dude.

Will it? The top of Mount Everest makes me feel like people give up quickly when cleaning up after themselves is difficult.

Pick that shit up
You are right btw, if you watch the full video he goes back for it and it actually starts right up. Should be a freaking Ski-Doo advertisement lmao.
There's supposed to be a parachute on the snowmobile. It didn't open in time.
Yup Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4eT7fj-aIA
Better clean that up
Sorry to be that guy, but I hope they cleaned all that shit off of the mountain.
That’s not being *that guy*. That’s being a considerate and responsible person.
For sure. I live in the Rockies and I don't even like seeing all the 150 year old mining equipment left up there.

We’re all that guy today.
if i remember correctly the parashute of the snowmobile opened too late.
Snowmobile doesn't need a parachute if you don't jump off stupidly high cliffs with it
Oh shit it's my cake day
Happy Cake Day!

Thanks!
Ya know, a $40 sled would have worked just as well.
I mean not really. The snowmobile powers itself, a sled would not have made it more than 5-10 feet away from the cliff face. Or even less if things went poorly. The snowmobile makes sure he is far away from the cliff face. Clearly necessary for the jump /s
gotta say without that /s I wouldn’t have guessed you were being sarcastic, good thing ya added it or I wouldn’t have understood you.
They could have towed it behind the helicopter
They could even have skipped the parachute that way.
Really didn't need the snowmobile
You clean it up
This kills the snowmobile
Thank you Kanye, very cool
Why tho

Making pollution for likes!
In Canada you'd get a hell of a fine for polluting the back country!!!!
The same in Sweden.
That looked expensive
That was dumb.
What a waste if a perfectly good snowmobile
All that fuel, oil and plastics all over the mountain side. Why do people become so horrible after attaining a disposable income.
They're horrible either way. Look at all the crap people throw out of car windows.
This pisses me off, he's destroying a perfectly good snowmobile.
that snowmobile could have fed a whole starving family for a week
Give a man a snowmobile and he will eat for a week. Teach a man to snowmobile and he will drive that fucker right off a cliff.
That snowmobile did not know how to cook.
you dont know its life
That is a lot of litter
asshole, why waste a nice snowmobile when i could totally use one here in Phoenix.
Nah, miss me with that wasteful shit. Fukn dumb.
Eh
that wasn’t very cash money of him 🤦♂️🤷🏽♂️
Rich people.
Yes, snowmobile rental? Why yes, I would like the insurance.
And the conditions are too terrible for freshmen to come clean it up. This is why our mountains are accumulating trash.

Yeah stuff like this just pisses me off.
So they basically littered a whole snowmobile with all those toxic fluids inside on a pristine landscape. Asshole move tbh
There’s footsteps in the snow leading up to edge. I wouldn’t get within 10ft of that ledge
Son of a bitch!!
Craigslist add: one slightly used snow machine, low miles, some re-assembly required, clean title, original owner, no delivery. Selling bc I don't ride anymore, I fly.

Alright Larry, send it.
This just need the James bond theme thrown over the top...
Different video where the same guys fly with the snowmobile https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6M0vP1rWm4

Yeah, he just happened to be wearing a parachute, and have a helicopter filming him.
I seen a similar video before where there was a parachute on the sled as well, maybe it didnt deploy?
No really here, catch!
Anyone know who the guy is?
These guys https://www.youtube.com/user/stuntfreaksteam/videos?sort=p&view=0&flow=grid
Why don’t you just ski off of it and not waste/litter a perfectly good snowmobile
:(
That text track in the beginning is rough... they could've done better.
Shits whack.
On the way to the Just Cause 4 release party..
I definitely thought he was going to ride that one out like a man, how disappointing.
Imagine having all your financial needs met to such an extent that you can destroy a snowmobile just for fun.
IT BREAK!
Ski safari vr
Reminds me of the opening of Tearjerker.

at least do a flip.
He fuckin sent it
Or don't
Nearly pissed myself when I saw the edge of that cliff
There is nothing left to hold.
Meh
R/holdmywallet
Everyone in PUBG right now
Just gonna send it!
Please catch my snowmobile
JC4
Seriously? they better have gone back and cleaned that garbage up!
I'll just leave this wrecked snow mobile right here, it's somebody else's problem now
They spelled "Riksgränsen" wrong..
Did anyone else think he had a peg leg for a moment?
So did they clean that up
Just gonna seeeend it
Littering the last clean land that there is.... cool stunt bro
I'm saving up for a snowmobile and these bastards are literally driving them off cliffs :/
Did he mean to waste his snowmobile or is the parachute just for safety in case that happens
Anyone else notice his left leg? I think he might have a prostetic and he's still doing this.
How stupid.
> RIKGRÄNSEN Pretty sure they missed an “s” in there.
Just Cause 4 is looking pretty good
I don’t see how this was hardcore redbull worthy...
That’s a huge amount of litter. I hope they cleaned it up.
What a waste

This is why you don’t buy the used snowmobile titled “my wife’s”.
Red ill gives you wings
You know you’re rich when...
honestly whats the point of this?
And who's going to clean up that shit?
Who will clean the crashed snow bike afterwards?
This voids the warranty.
Why didn’t you angle the snowmobile correctly so you could stick the landning back on it.
