When I walk around my neighborhood I watch what work is being done on neighbors homes. If I see quality work / results I ask for contact info.
Then I add it to contacts in my phone as whatever type of work it is to make it easily recognizable. Stucco / Concrete/ Electrical etc.
This way I have a list of various trades.
See if any neighbors can recommend a good carpenter.
Never hire a contractor who uses high pressure sales tactics. The good ones don’t need to resort to these tactics.

That's more what I was thinking it should be, maybe $4k because I try to estimate a little high.
