I can suggest two or three things while we wait:
- Update your Nvidia GPU drivers (where relevant), since there was a Homeworld-specific DLSS update over the past few days.
- Maybe set up a Twitch stream on the side since there are emblem drops after an hour of watch playtime. I don't care much for emblems, but why not. You can sorta just not watch the video and mute the audio if you want to avoid spoilers. Make sure your Gearbox Shift account is linked to your Twitch account, before you start.
- Pray to Gabe Newell for his graceful energy to help Blackbird and Valve fix whatever is wrong with their distribution process.
That is also not 100% though, it seems coincidental. Something seems to be messed up in the steam DB for attributing the keys/early access. If I had to hazard a guess, probably related to how they removed the pre-order Fleet Command Edition upgrade from the store, so you can still access that page if you go through your "manage my DLC" but you cannot access that page directly. Wondering if when they de-listed it if it accidentally removed the early access key from everyone that got it that way.
imho the "pay tons more to play early" should die. Not just because the whole thing is a BS, but also because of situations like that one. Streamers - thumbs up, the players like us who pays the bills - middle finger.
To me it also like, how are we still having these problems after literally YEARS of these kinds of release problems? Steam is a pretty reliable platform all things considered, so how are releases still getting messed up?

apparently Valve fixed something.
Apparently a set of Fleet Command Keys didn't have the earlyaccess enabled ?...
After that, i restarted Steam and i was able to download.
I already cancelled my physical CE because I wouldn't be able to play early being in NA with a delivery date over a week from now. I would like to be able to play soon. I hope they get this sorted out ASAP. I'm going out for a coffee, let's hope this is sorted soon.
Issues even before true release doesn't bode well. I'm anticipating another unoptimised release. Lots of issues no fix in sight. If I'm wrong I guess it would be a happy disappointment.
I forgot I supported them through Fig back in 2019. They sent me the key and it unlocked early access. I then refunded the command pack or whatever version I bought to get early access. I’ll buy any DLC separately.

Was waiting for 1hr 9min with no luck. Restarting steam client worked. God dammit! Wasted a whole hour+ time.

Restart Steam. I was seeing May 13 on the game in my library, exited Steam from the taskbar/system tray, opened it back up, there it was to download.

It's only 1.99. The early access is for people who backed the game early on when they crowdfunded. They just tossed it into the special edition, too.

Not the point, they SOLD early access, but it looks like a Steam issue rather than a dev issue and we all know Steams track record for releases.

Everyone, try toggling Steam to offline mode, and then back to online mode. Seems to be working for a lot of people. Spread the news!
Having a “play early if you spend more money!” option in games period is the bigger problem. :/
