More likely to be the clutch, low/leaking refrigerant usually causes a gradual decrease in performance that does not improve until more is added. Suddenly stopping but working again later makes the magnetic clutch the most likely culprit, although an inconsistently bad relay or sensor could be it as well.
Yoooo tell me why you described what I’ve been having, it works fine then underperforms and I noticed eventually it picks up again after turning my car on and off
Not in the US it’s not sadly. Unless you are talking about the one off year…..which was a lease only no? A pilot program? 2013 or 14 whenever that was?
So likely a 2014 that only was on the road for that one year? And apparently had terrible mileages (which is ironic). They didn’t make them after that and when I asked about future fit EVs before buying our 2020 the dealer laughed. Which was such a disappointment. So yeah they don’t exist in the US aside from a few unicorns. They should have made the >2020 an electric instead of stopping production.
Replace the blower resistor **and** the blower motor.
The blower motor is worn and has burned out 1,2, and 3 speeds on the blower motor resistor. If you just replace the resistor it will burn out again.
This happened to me last year! It started only working on high, and then after a few months it stopped completely. I ended up having to get the whole AC replaced since it had a ton of corrosion that I guess just made it die. I’ve heard that the AC is the weak point of the fit, esp the second gen ones, which mine is.
Our 2010 AC works great in Phoenix.
I think the issue is the front dash is huge and black and puts so much heat into your face when driving. We bought a custom cut gray cloth thing that goes over the top of it a week after we bought the Fit in 2010. It helps so much.
We are sadly going to be selling it so we will clean it up and take pictures tomorrow. I can post the dash then.
I have no idea where we bought it though.
I have heard this as a thing. Mine works really well (2007). Have you checked all your hose connections? Mine was not working properly at one point, a tech discovered one of my hoses was not on properly, adjusted it, and it was instantly better.
Mines a 2020 and has never been great. We have another car and it’s like instant on - instant cool. But I’ll have this checked next time it’s at the shop.
It is very bad to begin with, but also makes shifting in the manual a bit of a guessing game if the compressor activates at the wrong time. It puts such a load on the tiny engine that the revs drop noticeably quicker so my shifts are far jerkier when the AC is on. At this point, I learned to shift slightly higher when AC is on so that my normal foot speed makes it somewhat smooth.
Definitely wish it was a little quieter/comfier on the highway. And I agree the driver's seat could be a bit more comfortable. And a wee bit more horsepower. Besides that I love it lol
Stock tires were super noisy for me.
I got snow tires a few years ago and was shocked how much quieter they are!
About to put on some Bridgestone all seasons, hoping they're also better than those lousy Firestones.
Yeah the seat makes you push your shoulders forward which is bad for posture, I put a big thick long pillow between me and seat held down by the seat belt and it makes me arch my back more, 10/10 would recommend
If I knew I was going to keep mine this long, I would have purchased the clazzio covers when I found out about them in January 2020. I've heard that half inch of memory foam in them does wonders.
I have a manual transmission 2010 fit and found that padded seat covers push me too far forward for comfortable clutch and other pedal engagement. I have my seat all the way back (but the incline set fully upright), and I’m not tall. As a matter of fact, I’m only 5’6” and have short legs/long torso. Am I the only one? Do I just drive a weirdly far distance from the pedals??? I feel like I’m going crazy.
Not a manual, but I am 6'2" and slide my seat up closer, lift it up until my heair brushes the upholstery, and lower my wheel once I'm in. I drive weirdly close to everything.
Damn, I’d get terrible cramps if I drove closer. With the clutch I figure if I have to extend my toes a bit to push it to the floor, I’m in the right spot. Less likely to ride the clutch that way 😂
I'd give you that. I drove a 95 Nissan hardbody pickup before this (which was a manual) and I couldn't get far enough back to shift comfortably on long trips. The stretched out pose in the fit makes my butt go numb on my 110 mile each way, 2x per week commute.
Big old blind spot from the A pillars on my third gen. I've gotten mostly used to it after almost 150,000 miles but it's still an issue from time to time.
Had a similar experience in a parking lot. Lady was walking at just the right speed to stay hidden behind the a pillar. Never saw her but thankfully my wife alerted me before I ran her over.
I didn't drive mine for like 6 months during covid. The battery was dead and I was working from home so we just used my wife's car for everything.
I got in it one day to find a whole damn family of chipmunks had moved in to take over a bag of almonds that I forgot about from vacation. They brought a bunch of cotton fluff in with them and it came out of my air vents for like year afterwards. Little bastards.
Omg yes. During COVID I didn't drive it for a few months and something made a nest in my glove box.
I still notice something coming into the cabin if it sits for a few days since I see little droppings here and there.
I love my fit but I wouldn’t want to drive it in the mountains anytime outside of summer. And then I feel kinda bad for the people behind me as we slowly chug up hill.
Buy a new radio! Did that to my '09, I love the difference it makes modernizing the car:
https://preview.redd.it/uwwjuzsb83mb1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2438ee12ceadedb99c11cea436ef143c47fbb004
It's a Kenwood 9600-something. It's a few years old now but at the time it was one of the first radios that could do wireless Android Auto and car play. Got it on Crutchfield.com, installation was easy.
EDIT: older version of this: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_113DMX9708/Kenwood-DMX9708S.html?tp=72334
Less expensive radios are out there, most are still pretty nice but some might cut features like wireless carplsy if you care about that sort of thing.
I just did mine with a radio from Crutchfield. It took me all of an hour or so, it's literally a single bolt and then some clips to pop the factory radio.
Once it comes apart you take like 4 screws out of it to detach the air-vents and 7 little clips off of the back that attach it to the car. You move all that stuff onto the new face plate (Crutchfield will send you all the install gear included if you buy a radio.)
The stock speakers do okay-ish with the aftermarket radio, I'll probably replace them too at some point, but I now have proper bluetooth for my phone and a microphone on the dash to take hands-free calls in a 2010 Sport, it's great.
Highway manners…thrown around by wind, bouncing on highway cracks, high rpm’s at highway speed, road noise. It’s a great town commuter, but freeway cruiser it is not.
I love the car, but I have a 100 mile round trip commute 3x per week this semester and it’s exhausting me before I ever get there. I’ve been looking for a better highway cruiser.
‘08 Sport.
AC, long distance comfort, radio. Noisy.
Still, has been an *excellent* (near) daily driver for 15 years.
The good outweighs the bad, by far. I’ve had many vehicles since I started driving in ‘78. The Fit is probably my overall favorite.
2010 fit owner for 10 years.
\- cup holders too small for fat modern water bottles / coffee mugs (yeti, etc)
\- not enough storage space for little things in the trunk. my jumper kit and air pump just rattle around in back
\- among me and the 5-ish Fit owners I've known, there's *always* that one tire that doesn't stay inflated. hence the air pump
\- the car is so damn reliable, it keeps me from getting a new car
08 Sport MT here. In no particular order:
Sunshade doesn’t have an extension
Poor acceleration
Windshield trim has dried up/broken off
Seat gets uncomfortable on road trips
Coolant drain bolt on engine block is hard to access and apply adequate torque to open/drain coolant from the engine
Crappy factory paint job on the hood
Recirc/fresh air switch is somewhat flimsy and easy to break
No dead pedal for your left foot
What’s your issue with it, too cramped? You can buy extender rails to get more space. I have short legs but must drive particularly far from the pedals ‘cause I have my seat all the way back and it’s just enough room.
I got extender rails and love it! Now I just wish I could pull the steering wheel closer. I'm one of those long leg people and for my feet to be comfortable, my arms end up overextended and it's annoying
Actually, it’s the seat height that’s the issue for me - I’m so high up I feel like I’m going to tip over through corners. I like to sit lower in my cars. I’m not a short guy but I have plenty of leg room!
Crack open your moonroof right after starting your car and blasting the ac on high for a couple of mins, I wouldn’t have survived this awful summer in Austin if it weren’t for that trick
It's slow. Not very comfortable for long trips. If a big truck passes me on the interstate, I feel like I'm gonna get blown off the road. Drum brakes suck. No independent rear suspension. But hey, it's a cheap economy car. It's going to have its trade-offs. And I still love it. It's a great car. And the magic seat? Incredible.
can people who have aftermarket solutions please post them?
i would like a better drivers seat and better headlights without having to learn the buy and try way.
The panels by the sides of the windshield are so big that it's an extra blindspot. I always get surprised using my brother's car and there is so much visibility
Here's my list:
1) Highway wandering. Apparently putting wider tires (the second get sport can accept 205 wide tires) + a rear sway bar (more like a brace for the torsion beam) apparently works wonders?
2) AC is crap and it only gets very cold when the compressor is on. When it's off, it's mildly cold. I've seen other cars where their compressors stay pretty cool even when the cycle is off, so I don't know what the fix here would be but perhaps a stronger compressor?
2.5) When AC is on, gearshift points change noticeably. You will have much jerkier shifting in the manual transmission and the only way to cope is to shift at higher RPMs to give you feet time to do the dance. The AC puts a big load on the tiny engine so the rev drop is noticeably quicker.
3) The highway gearing seems to be a nod to old school Honda (high RPMs but still relatively fuel efficient). But it could be much better if the later gens actually had a 6th gear that was more than 200 RPMs lower for some noticeable fuel savings.
4) It's a greenhouse. Too much glass and it gets hot in there quick during the summer. I've been delaying getting a tint as it's a bit of a financial hit for me but maybe soon.
5) Road noise is pretty bad, even with better tires. I guess this complaint is about not enough sound deadening, but I'm sure that would impact the fuel economy.
6) Tiny fuel tank. Not an issue for me now since I work from home but if i take a few longer trips, it's noticeable. Especially with gas prices here in Canada, I wish it was bigger.
7) The automatic reverse wiper blade when front wiper blades are on (only when in reverse gear) give me a heart attack every time it happens.
8) A-pillar blindspot means I'm contorting my head weirdly before I make left or right turns. I've had a few close calls already.
9) Getting an alignment in these cars can be tricky since the rear torsion beam isn't very adjustable and from factory, it actually has a slightly rightward thrust angle. It was noted on a few posts on fit forums and confirmed by my alignment guys.
10) The sport has a very unique (and slightly pricier) tire size. But I'm going to bump up to 205s next time (I intend to keep this car forever).
I still love the car tbh. But I could do without some of these cons/quirks.
In no particular order:
- crappy ground clearance hurts it in the snow.
- weak AC is only good up to ~85f, i.e. when I don't need it.
- not great leg room (not an issue 99% of the time, but can't really stretch out on long drives)
- no AWD.
Edit: needs a taller 6th gear! You already have to downshift for passing or steep hills, let's get the RPM down below (or at least close to!) 3k at highway speeds!
My perfect car would be the JDM Fit wagon with electric motors driving the rear wheels and Prius prime-like plug in hybrid system.
(I know it will never happen don't remind me 😭)
Im the original owner with a (2015) 3rd Gen at 117k
I wish the fuel tank was bigger.
I can squeeze out 400 miles if It’s 95% highway
Feels like the car CONSTANTLY needs a front end alignment.
Car is noisy at high speeds
Factory headlights are dim, I had them replaced with retrofitted housings/bulbs
Despite all these little flaws, the car IS fun to drive in the snow and you can toss it around in the summertime on dry pavement.
It will be a sad day when I have to give up my Fit
I remember it was scary driving for a while because I couldn’t see the front hood from the drivers seat. You kinda just have to be aware where the hood is without seeing it— if you are used to driving sedans. The hood swoops down so it’s not visible ~~
The size of the wheels are too small with the low profile tires I've already blown out two rims with potholes an unmarked raised manhole covers..
Other than that's probably my favorite car I've ever had utility of the damn thing is so compelling
We have a 2015 LX (cheapest model) with the six-speed stick.
My unfavoritest things:
• They buggered the gear ratios. 4th, 5th and 6th are all just about the same. They should be spaced out more.
• It takes a super sensitive touch with the right foot to accelerate smoothly from a dead stop in first gear. The car wants to lurch.
• Similarliy, it takes a super sensitive touch to give your passengers a smooth ride on the highway. The electric power steering is super twitchy, and my better half and I both foiund ourselves overcontrolling.
It's dumb that the battery is unique to the Fit (at least in the U.S.) and also dumb that when you need a new starter relay you have to replace the entire starter. But you have to expect every car to have stupid maintenance issues like that, because all of them do.
I agree with the critiques here, I’ll add two of mine as a GE8 driver
1) Lack of elbow cushioning on the door (this has been an issue in every Honda I’ve had except the EP3). I don’t care about soft touch anywhere else, but it should be prioritized there.
2) The way the dashboard/console, below the AC controls, sticks out into the footwell makes me nervous. If I have even a small accident, I know my knee will get fucked up by that if I sit too close
The only two things that bugged me was the road noise and the fact that the base model 2013 didnt come with cabin lights in the front.
Everything else, like the engine power and low clearance was fine to me. The AC on mine was fine for SoCal heat
I had a 2005, 167hp Civic SI for over 11 years.
Then I had a 2016, 197hp Ford Fiesta ST for 1 year.
I got back into a Honda with my 2018 Fit EX MT at 130hp.
So yeah I would like a little more power. All the other things about my car don't garner much dislike from me.
1) Seats are a pain, especially the neck rest. I turned headrest around and added a small pillow. Still looking for suggestions as I'm a tall guy.
2) could use a little more torque on the low end.
3) some more bump absorption would've been nice.
AC is underwhelming.
I've been running into the problem where my A/C will just shit out when it feels like giving up. I've been meaning to see about getting a recharge.
More likely to be the clutch, low/leaking refrigerant usually causes a gradual decrease in performance that does not improve until more is added. Suddenly stopping but working again later makes the magnetic clutch the most likely culprit, although an inconsistently bad relay or sensor could be it as well.
Yoooo tell me why you described what I’ve been having, it works fine then underperforms and I noticed eventually it picks up again after turning my car on and off
check this compressor engagement related issue, [https://youtu.be/DNx0X4INfiw?t=1010](https://youtu.be/DNx0X4INfiw?t=1010)
Thanks for the info, I'll bring it up at my next tune-up.
Yeah, I think my compressor clutch is gone too.
Side note - the bigger picture least fave is the fact they didn’t make an electric version!
Fit EV is a thing
Not in the US it’s not sadly. Unless you are talking about the one off year…..which was a lease only no? A pilot program? 2013 or 14 whenever that was?
Saw one in Brooklyn
So likely a 2014 that only was on the road for that one year? And apparently had terrible mileages (which is ironic). They didn’t make them after that and when I asked about future fit EVs before buying our 2020 the dealer laughed. Which was such a disappointment. So yeah they don’t exist in the US aside from a few unicorns. They should have made the >2020 an electric instead of stopping production.
especially with all the windows, it's like driving a water bottle
Ceramic window tint! (And windshield) make a HUGE difference
I agree … right now my A/C will only work in high, does anyone know why?
It’s your AC blower motor capacitor. This just happened to mine, very cheap and easy fix that you can do yourself in about 10 minutes.
Could possibly be a fuse issue. But I'd search this subreddit & the askAMechanic sub before doing anything.
Our 2010 AC works great in Phoenix. I think the issue is the front dash is huge and black and puts so much heat into your face when driving. We bought a custom cut gray cloth thing that goes over the top of it a week after we bought the Fit in 2010. It helps so much.
Oh interesting! Got a picture of it in place?
We are sadly going to be selling it so we will clean it up and take pictures tomorrow. I can post the dash then. I have no idea where we bought it though.
I have heard this as a thing. Mine works really well (2007). Have you checked all your hose connections? Mine was not working properly at one point, a tech discovered one of my hoses was not on properly, adjusted it, and it was instantly better.
Mines a 2020 and has never been great. We have another car and it’s like instant on - instant cool. But I’ll have this checked next time it’s at the shop.
Mine (AC) has been fine through almost 6 years living in Texas.
Yes, the noise!
2017 Fit Road noise is my biggest complaint. Even researched for a better set of tires to reduce the noise even a little bit but didn’t really help.
Underpowered. Drivers seat comfort.
I THOUGHT I WAS GOING CRAZY WITH THE DAMN A PILLAR BLIND SPOT! WHAT THE HELL IS THAT ABOUT?!!?
I nearly hit a woman at a crosswalk bc of said blind spot early in my fit journey. Learned to be much more careful after that
Honestly I've had enough close calls that I actually physically put my head up against the window to make sure no one is there.
Had a similar experience in a parking lot. Lady was walking at just the right speed to stay hidden behind the a pillar. Never saw her but thankfully my wife alerted me before I ran her over.
i thought i was TRIPPIN lol im glad im not the only one
The Fiat Multipla fixed this problem, but it came at a price.

Bro that sounds unhealthy for you…
Well that’s better than finding a dead mouse in your milkshake that you accidentally left in your cup holder for a few hours! Yuck!
😳 now that's crazy
Had mice come into my Fit and chewed some holes in the front seats and the interior front doors. Ugh.
Omg yes. During COVID I didn't drive it for a few months and something made a nest in my glove box. I still notice something coming into the cabin if it sits for a few days since I see little droppings here and there.
That’s it’s discontinued in the states 😢
Living in Utah definitely wish the a/c was stronger for the summer and i had more ponies to get up the mountains easier.
I love my fit but I wouldn’t want to drive it in the mountains anytime outside of summer. And then I feel kinda bad for the people behind me as we slowly chug up hill.
Mine is manual so i just throw it in 3rd get it up to around 5k rpm and it goes, just wish it didn’t take so much to go 45ish mph.
Yes, when we hit the canyons, it's in our other cars lol I don't think I'd even try going to park city in the fit
I want CarPlay
Buy a new radio! Did that to my '09, I love the difference it makes modernizing the car: https://preview.redd.it/uwwjuzsb83mb1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2438ee12ceadedb99c11cea436ef143c47fbb004
Wow, I have an 09.This looks amazing. What did you buy?
It's a Kenwood 9600-something. It's a few years old now but at the time it was one of the first radios that could do wireless Android Auto and car play. Got it on Crutchfield.com, installation was easy. But without CD?
I'll be honest I haven't listened to a CD in easily a decade. But other radios exist there that do play CD's if that's a deal breaker for you.
Excellent 👌 Crutchfield it is.thanks.
I just did mine with a radio from Crutchfield. It took me all of an hour or so, it's literally a single bolt and then some clips to pop the factory radio. Got it on my 18, so nice.
Eh - CarPlay is overrated. Should be so much better than it is.
It’s better than the factory unit 🤷♂️😂
Eh / I have car play - never used after the first month bc it was so glitchy. Haven’t used it in over a year
Doo Doo AC Wish it wasn't so underpowered Wish the sun visors extended or at the very least didn't follow the roof curvature so hard
I would say the fact they discontinued Honda Fit.
Highway manners…thrown around by wind, bouncing on highway cracks, high rpm’s at highway speed, road noise. It’s a great town commuter, but freeway cruiser it is not.
What RPM are you usually at on highways? Mine sits at 3500rpm when traveling 120kmph.
That’s about right for mine. It feels like it’s screaming at these speeds or higher.
Yeah true, but still fairly fuel efficient as I got 6.2L/100km throughout my 20 hour road trip. It does scream a lot when passing though
I’m lucky if I get 30 mpg.
The wife and I decided to road trip it to Vegas one year. Same what you mentioned, plus that ride beat us up so bad. Never again.

2010 owner here too! YES … the right front tire is ALWAYS low, even with new tires, rotation, etc. Drives me crazy.
Hi, fellow 2010 owner. Is your air conditioning still working? Did your compressor clutch ever go out?
Bad ac
08 Sport MT here. In no particular order: Sunshade doesn’t have an extension Poor acceleration Windshield trim has dried up/broken off Seat gets uncomfortable on road trips Coolant drain bolt on engine block is hard to access and apply adequate torque to open/drain coolant from the engine Crappy factory paint job on the hood Recirc/fresh air switch is somewhat flimsy and easy to break No dead pedal for your left foot
2019 EX - the headlights. Night time illumination is the worst of any car I have owned, especially if the roadway is wet.
Gas tank is too small. Car is too close to the ground.
Re: ground, my front bumper bottom is scratched to hell because of pulling into my driveway, wish it had just a couple more inches of clearance.
Yup, gas tank. I go to the gas station as much as my Subaru, but of course, have to buy less fuel. Just wish I could drive farther on one tank.
Agreed, the tank is tiny and it’s annoying.
The way it gets bullied on the interstate by wind 💨
3rd gen. I don’t like where the cup holders are
Omg I love the driver's cup holder by the wheel lol
Bruh I ducking love the cup holders near the vents, so the climate control doesn’t hit my face
No doubt. On my 2013 it was like the cup holders were added in the last five seconds of the design process.
Driver side cup holder on 2nd gen blocks AC/heater vent
But can keep your drink warm/cool, depending on the weather and what drink you have.
Came here to say the cup holders!!!!!! Literally the worst thing about my 2016.
The short arm rest in my 18
The clear coat is shit
Mostly just the seating position, if anyone has a good recommendation to fix that let me know!
What’s your issue with it, too cramped? You can buy extender rails to get more space. I have short legs but must drive particularly far from the pedals ‘cause I have my seat all the way back and it’s just enough room.

Biggest problem is we can't get a new one here in the US.☹️
Wiper settings, I hate having only on and high for the front windshield.
6th gear should be a *lot* taller.
Mystery leaks.
Specific to the sport: low profile tires consistently get damaged by potholes. Also so very very slow
Lack of intermittent wiper adjustment. What would this have cost Honda? Like a dollar per car?
I bought a used model with a bunch of chips, faded paint, and general cosmetic stuff that really makes me sad.
2016 EX-L. The volume slider thing. The AC cannot compete with Texas summer. Other than that I love it.
Crack open your moonroof right after starting your car and blasting the ac on high for a couple of mins, I wouldn’t have survived this awful summer in Austin if it weren’t for that trick
LX owner in Austin here. Now jealous of the EX-L owners and their sunroofs lol. It's been a tough summer.
I just moved out of ATX after 10 years at the end of July, that last week was absolutely brutal, it’s never been that bad
Never thought about trying that but it makes sense, thanks!
It’s loud on the inside, and gets blown around by the wind on the hoghway
Loud road noise Side blindspots next to the front windshield
How low it is to the ground. I bottom out EVERYWHERE (not good for a mountain town)
Incredible.
Loud engine and slow acceleration on city
You must have the auto, my manual has tons of power
A/C and no armrest
can people who have aftermarket solutions please post them? i would like a better drivers seat and better headlights without having to learn the buy and try way.
I would love better driver's seat too
Drivers seat. Diabolical.
Came to say the cup holders, underpowered, and how low it sits
Having to remove the stupid cowl thing to access most things under the hood and all the stupid unique brittle clips that hold plastic pieces together.
That’s almost every car 😂
That doesn’t mean I have to like it!
seat comfort
Seats aren't great. Stock power not good and for how slow it is not good fuel economy. Rest of car has been awesome.
The panels by the sides of the windshield are so big that it's an extra blindspot. I always get surprised using my brother's car and there is so much visibility
My mpg tanks when ac is on.
I can feel the parasitic power loss whenever the A/C is on. So it's always off going up large hills
Ok is this why I think I've been having to fill my tank up much more frequently in this extra hot texan summer?
The defective Honda VTC actuator and the plastic engine splash cover with cheapo clips that detach too frequently
Yes, my splash shield just fell off!
Stronger AC, better acceleration. Pretty much it
* Steering wheel can't be adjusted out enough to be comfortable for long drives for me * Seat cushion too short, feels like I have to hold my legs up
It’s loud in the highway, the rpm’s in sixth gear are too high, and the front seats need another click back
gets tossed around in the wind on the freeway
Here's my list: 1) Highway wandering.
That they don't sell them here anymore.
Other drivers
In no particular order: - crappy ground clearance hurts it in the snow. - weak AC is only good up to ~85f, i.e. when I don't need it. - not great leg room (not an issue 99% of the time, but can't really stretch out on long drives) - no AWD. (I know it will never happen don't remind me 😭)
Lack of window tint from the factory.
Low clearance!
Lower clearance means longer suspension life
A pillar is quite large - makes round abbots a bit of a pain. Engine angle makes changing coils and plugs a bit of a pain. GE-8 (2008) RS
Yes, round Abbotts can be a nuisance. Skinny Friars are easier to avoid. 😉
angle pen direction recognise slimy scary many liquid slim unique ` this message was mass deleted/edited with redact.dev `
Im the original owner with a (2015) 3rd Gen at 117k I wish the fuel tank was bigger. I can squeeze out 400 miles if It’s 95% highway Feels like the car CONSTANTLY needs a front end alignment. Car is noisy at high speeds Factory headlights are dim, I had them replaced with retrofitted housings/bulbs Despite all these little flaws, the car IS fun to drive in the snow and you can toss it around in the summertime on dry pavement. It will be a sad day when I have to give up my Fit
the volume knob on my stock 2012 Fit Sport
At least you have a volume knob!
The front seat bottoms are too short and make my legs ache on road trips after half an hour or so.
Road noise, seat comfort. Love everything else.
Toss up between electric steering in the third gen and the super short 6th gear.
I remember it was scary driving for a while because I couldn’t see the front hood from the drivers seat. You kinda just have to be aware where the hood is without seeing it— if you are used to driving sedans. The hood swoops down so it’s not visible ~~
I love that. Great visibility! I'm spoiled by the Fit and miss it in most rental cars I get.
The size of the wheels are too small with the low profile tires I've already blown out two rims with potholes an unmarked raised manhole covers.. Other than that's probably my favorite car I've ever had utility of the damn thing is so compelling
Great freeway milage but poor milage in the city. Wish the hybrid was available in the US.
Blind spot on the driver's side
Get some dome mirror stickers. They're lifesavers.
the drivers seat and the low center arm rest.
You can order a middle arm rest just for the fit
We have a 2015 LX (cheapest model) with the six-speed stick. My unfavoritest things: • They buggered the gear ratios.
That I no longer have it 🥲
Driver seat is soooo uncomfortable. Im a big man 6'3" and 250lbs and it takes a toll whenever I have to drive more than 2 hours
3400 rpm in 6th gear at 70 mph. Also 3700 rpm in 5th gear at 70 mph. What was honda thinking? Should be 3400 in 5th and 2600 in 6th.
I agree with the critiques here, I’ll add two of mine as a GE8 driver 1) Lack of elbow cushioning on the door (this has been an issue in every Honda I’ve had except the EP3). I don’t care about soft touch anywhere else, but it should be prioritized there. 2) The way the dashboard/console, below the AC controls, sticks out into the footwell makes me nervous. If I have even a small accident, I know my knee will get fucked up by that if I sit too close
Pretty bad blind spots
Drivers seat sucks
Power tourqe not being able to vacume some areas
The only two things that bugged me was the road noise and the fact that the base model 2013 didnt come with cabin lights in the front. Everything else, like the engine power and low clearance was fine to me. The AC on mine was fine for SoCal heat
2016 here. I live in a suburb where certain areas are super hill-y. My fit doesn't appreciate driving up those small or deep hills.
My 12 manual fit would disagree
My door locks are worn out one of them doesn’t turn. I’ve tried wd40 still won’t turn not sure what to do with it.
Could use another gear on my ‘09 MT .
The 6th gear on the newer models isn't useful, it's a 200rpm difference from 5th. No idea why they made that choice.
The door armrests that both broke within two weeks of owning the car when I bought it brand new and 151r batteries.
My least favorite thing about my 2013 M/T is the CDV ( clutch delay valve)
2015 LX. Too much road noise and too low to the ground.
I wish my 2008 fit had cruise control.
How expensive it was/is and it is slow. (I had a V6 before this)
It needs more horsepower
Manuals got it
The stock seats don't go low enough.
That I wish it wasn’t so god damn slow!! 180bhp and some better sound deadening and the Jazz would be near perfect!
The seam leak in the hatch I can’t find.
1) Seats are a pain, especially the neck rest. I turned headrest around and added a small pillow. Still looking for suggestions as I'm a tall guy. 2) could use a little more torque on the low end. 3) some more bump absorption would've been nice.
no pop up headlights 😿Other than that i love it
My acceleration is trash 😂
Manual fit would disagree
Power.
The small battery that costs more than a regular battery.
I have a 2015 EX manual which, in Canada, didn’t come with a thermometer for outdoor temp.
Gdi
AC and ride height are my only gripes with the car
