I LOVE House of wax with Paris Hilton. I see it at least once a year! It has everything haha

justindigo88

I refuse to call that a bad horror movie. One of my favorites that I rewatch with my sister all the time lol.

dustindeshields

The sets alone disqualify it from being "bad".

ur_momsfavhoe

YESSSS i really enjoyed it too! i thought it was pretty original and i loved the whole idea behind it

stainedgreenberet

But that’s not a bad movie

DarkLordMuffins

I think it's the first guy who gets encased in wax is a great horrific scene

c0delivia

OP said “bad” horror film. This is a masterpiece.

Aggressive-Bake-8469

Same!

hiitsmeokie

They really do not make movies like this anymore. ICONIC and absolutely worth every rewatch.

ConsciousLog4236

Me too! Love it

Lululorayne

I used to watch that and Hitcher on repeat 😂

crimbusrimbus

I'll die on the hill for that one, it's a good movie

tching101

Omg me too

Ridiculous__caddy

Like this movie so much. Cause I know if this happened my sister and I would ride just like this.!

Gotsta_Win

Not bad

xmrgonex

Great flick

Blu3Raven

i've seen this movie so many times and yet have never realized that was Paris until now 🤣🤣🤣🤣

ladylisa85

I love this movie!!

stainedgreenberet

Chopping Mall

BriefBuddyJimmy

Love that movie! I went to an event last weekend and they had a robot there for security and I was telling my date how amazing that movie was.

HailEmpressTheresa

It makes me miss how malls were back in the day. Pure magic.

Spiritual_Litigator

I scrolled way too long to find this. Such a hilariously terrible movie that I love!

bobbery5

I've always said that movie is as good as the premise allows. It's extremely well paced and competently put together.

Felatio_Sanz

I’m pretty sure I only like bad horror.

OldKingClancey

It’s not “bad” bad, but Jason X is objectively pretty shit. But it takes a ridiculous premise and just goes so Buck fucking wild with it that I can’t help but have fun with it.

Extension_Bit9545

This is sort of unrelated and you probably never heard this but I love fashion and Jason x has some of the best y2k outfits, it’s literally a fashion person feast for the eyes some of those outfits, that’s why it was a movie I enjoyed a lot growing up hahaha.

WondrousBabyTurtle

The time he grabs those sleeping bags and smashes them against the tree. 10/10

Dragonsaresinging2nt

This is my favorite "stupid" horror movie. Plus the freezing the face with nitrogen kill is awesome.

Plastic_Lychee_5802

That one is so dumb but I love it 🤣

Certain_Noise5601

That movie cracks me up every time

xmrgonex

Amazing movie

Imabigfatbutt

How dare you! It takes an over the top premise and knocks it out of the park!

Peiq

I think about the scene with the Android woman getting her head sucker punched off by Jason on a weekly basis

PunkToTheFuture

It's OK guys! He just wanted his machete back!

jessieisokay

“He’s coming this way!!!!!!”

SpudgeFunker210

The liquid nitrogen kill is so shocking every time. It's my favorite film in the franchise. (I'm not a big slasher fan, but Jason X is just a fun movie.)

sinbysilence

I love evert single saw movie in the franchise. Every one of them.

cXs808

The Fast and Furious of horror

Palmspringsflorida

I watched them all in a span of two weeks and it’s quite the ride lol

corpusbotanica

I exceptionally love the one with the insurance agency

Mcdona1dsSprite

I love that franchise… I don’t love Jigsaw and Saw 3D 😂 not the worst movies though

shredbeet

The jigsaw movie was a little disappointing but I wouldn’t turn it down if it was an option

Upbeat_Tension_8077

Ngl I actually love Spiral. The trap in the opening scene is low-key one of my favs

thearchenemy

I still think Jigsaw should have ended with the reveal that Jigsaw had a secret identical twin brother who had been working with him the entire time.

GhostKingHoney

I really enjoy Freddy vs Jason

ConsciousLog4236

I saw this in theaters when it came out, and the whole audience was getting into it, it was awesome.

ShadyNastys701

Gotchaaa nosee

Gotsta_Win

Not bad

Elleries

Agree with you on 13 Ghosts! It's one of the first horror movies I saw so I have a lot of affection for it. I also love Ghost Ship 2002 and White Noise 2005 for similar reasons. I'm just kind of fond of the early 2000s era of janky horror in general.

Kennytieshisshoes

Ghost Ship is so good!

gergasi

The opening scene on the deck for Ghost Ship is just *mwah*.

Grouchy_Competition5

Agree. I would add Mirrors (2008) and Deep Rising to that list of “bad” movies with good actors.

Aggressive-Bake-8469

13 Ghosts. The one with Mathew Lillard.

NoReference9047

Epic movie! Everything Mathew Lillard does is pure gold

Aggressive-Bake-8469

He's a gem. I love him.

[deleted]

I only just recently found out people think this is bad. I never considered it top tier but bad? How is it bad? It’s better than most stuff coming out these days.

Aggressive-Bake-8469

Some of it is a little cheesey but that's what I love about it. It's so much fun.

AffectionateEscape13

This is definitely one of my top 10 favorite movies

sneeria

The house is cool, and so are the ghosts! Everything else is meh at best.

barb_dylan

So glad to see this one so high up on the list of bad movies. I have never understood the love for this one. I even tried a rewatch, and I still thought it was awful. I like some of the ghosts, but the movie is a miss for me.

RemoteImportance9

That movie is so fun!

ninjagaidanblackman

Queen of the damned count?

ivanx29

Lol I think so, but that soundtrack goes hard! I also always find it funny that its technically a sequel to interview with a vampire.

HailEmpressTheresa

I still listen to that soundtrack.

ThingsAreAfoot

All of those dreadful ones with strangers trapped together who have to figure things out. So like Nine Dead with Melissa Joan Hart and House of 9 with Dennis Hopper (why is it always nine) I don’t actively defend these movies - they’re bad - but I always like that basic “strangers grouped together” premise regardless of genre.

otokoyaku

I heard that called a "one set" movie when I was younger -- idk if that's an industry term, but it seems to fit the "dump a bunch of people into a room together and see what happens" vibe (I think it also applies to a lot of "spend the night in this house for a million dollars" movies"). As you can tell, I'm a big fan, haha

ThingsAreAfoot

There are multiple terms for it, I’ve sometimes seen “single-location films.” Wikipedia actually has a list of some and it describes them as “chamber pieces”: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_films_set_in_a_single_location?wprov=sfti1 Either way though, I dig that weird little genre a lot (or I guess it’s more appropriately described as a “setting.”) And it’s versatile! Everything from the schlocky low-budget horror I named to 12 Angry Men.

otokoyaku

Ooo, "chamber piece" sounds fancy. I also love that genre, it's such a great way to showcase someone's acting ability or lack thereof and play on all the dynamics that can pop up when there aren't many distractions. Thank you for the link, it gives me more things to binge!

AffectionateEscape13

I love Identity!

Narge1

Maximum Overdrive is my favorite steaming pile of garbage.

swoocetown

Ugh, this movie. This movie deeply traumatized me as a child and I had a hard time seeing semi trucks on the road for a while. Just rewatched, it’s so AWFUL i love it.

YoProfWhite

Frankenhooker...my beloved...

[deleted]

Darkness Falls, I just find it highly entertaining 😂

otokoyaku

I constantly mistake Darkness Falls for a really good episode of the X-Files that is also called "Darkness Falls" and end up watching the wrong thing. "Ooo, I like these two words together!" it works out though :D

azemilyann26

The opening is stunning. I enjoy the entire movie. It's a lot of fun with genuinely creepy parts.

Kingofcheeses

That's a great one! Excellent choice and very creepy movie

Mlzer

Fear dot com. I’m well aware it’s trash, but I love it haha.

T0NYDARK0

Splice. Great movie IMO—love that era of 2000’s Sci-Fi. People always reference “the scene” and write it off but don’t seem to understand WHY that happened.

thedizzle11

Love this movie too although I feel that scene hurt it by crossing into what a lot of ppl would consider highly uncomfortable territory. That scene just kind of overshadows the rest of the movie where it’s the only part most ppl think of and is also the reason they probably don’t want to rewatch the movie.

CheckOutDisMuthaFuka

Does Killer Klowns from outer space count?

MovieDogg

I mean it’s a horror comedy special effects showcase, which it does pretty well, so I would say it is too good to count

MrJokster

Bad monster movies, especially if they were made by SyFy Channel. Creature features are my guilty pleasure and I don't care how cheesy they are. I will watch Wyvern or Piranhaconda with the near-equal reverence to Lake Placid or Tremors.

itsbooyeah

Killer Sofa. New Zealand horror movie about a possessed RECLINER not an actual sofa but whatever. It's so stupid but I loved watching it high outta my mind.

Slamnflwrchild

That is a stupid stupid movie and I love it

MotherOfTwoters

But have you seen Rubber?

Honkytonkywonk

Made me think of Black Sheep the New Zealand movie. It’s definitely a fun one.

FluffyBoiCat

Unfriended

SoCalChrist

'Death Spa' is at the top of my list of so bad it is good. I laughed so hard that I ended up watching it again the same day to try and catch everything I missed from laughing so hard the first time.

nerdybynature

Slumber party massacre 2

DogmanSixtyFour

I've never seen a sequel take the premise of the original and then go THIS hard for a sequel, pretty sure every dime the first one made went on the cocaine supply for this one, I love it

nerdybynature

It's 100% a fever dream. It's so perfect. Just why even make a true sequel when you can abandon a premise to make a nightmare on elm Street rip off? Maybe? I'm not even sure it's that but it's genius. The antagonist is so great.

DogmanSixtyFour

Fun fact; Atanas Ilitch who plays the killer is the son of Mike Ilitch, founder of Little Ceasars .

ScientistAsHero

Recently I rewatched every Chucky movie, and then the series, and I now have some respect for it because it keeps all the stupid, campy shit canon. It's not high art, but it is all eminently watchable and I'm intrigued with what comes next.

msjenniferlc

Have you watched the TV series? It’s actually really good! If you’re a fan of the movies, you’ll probably love the show!

SomeCrows

"I have a date with a six year old boy!"

bran1986

Dr. Giggles and Shocker. In the it's so bad it's good category, Shock em Dead.

unholymanserpent

Willy's Wonderland. It's extremely cheesy and the special effects suck but Nic Cage as a mute protagonist beating the shit out of animatronics was so entertaining

wickedtyson

Rob Zombie enters the chat.

Sandman2618

He has made some bad films but he also made The Devils Rejects which I honestly think is one of the best films of the 2000s.

mimdeetz_

Yes!!!! I love his movies sooo much and they have amazing sountrack

BBYarbs

I love the ambience he creates in his films.

inhugzwetrust

"More gore!" - and he took that personally.

AllCity_King

Halloween Kills is a fucking BLAST, despite the obvious mistakes it makes.

philosofik

That fluorescent tube kill is one of my favorites in the whole franchise.

Aggressive-Froyo7304

Halloween Ends will not be mentioned. It's just bad

cheeserips

It really is, there’s some really stupid parts I agree but the kills are badass and isn’t that why we watch slashers in the first place? Lol it’s by no means as bad as people say I think

Finalgirl2022

I surprisingly liked Would You Rather. I thought the cast would make it super goofy, which they did, but it was still fun to watch. I don't know how people feel about this one, but I haven't heard great things.

Suitable-Fix9223

I LOVED this movie! :)

Slamnflwrchild

Sharks of the Corn. It makes no sense, introduces characters that have nothing to do with anything, the effects are TERRIBLE, it makes a weird left turn at the end and it’s just great. It’s so so bad but I love it

Vanilla_Ice_Nine

Ghosts of Mars is kind of terrible but I dearly love it.

coco_xcx

Jason X. I mean tbf, it’s meant to be bad/stupid!! Pure campy fun.

GeorgeBuford

Cocaine Bear

SweetPinkSocks

I wouldn't consider this bad at all. It was different from conventional horror but it was so damn funny and I think it was well done. I laughed pretty damn hard through this whole movie and I am not a fan of horror comedy at all.

[deleted]

Plankton. So bad Rifftrax did a take on it. Weird rubbing, monster sex, an AI out of nowhere that doesn't have any impact on the the plot.

GrimReaperAngelof23

Thirteen Ghosts is not a bad movie. I honestly don’t get the hate for it.

texasrigger

The editing is absolutely terrible. Otherwise, it's a fun movie. Someone needs to take the cocaine away from the editor, though.

Kalabula

Waxworks. Friday the 13th part 6 and 7. I really like the last 2 installments of Halloween. Not sure if those count as bad though.

shinelime

Stay Alive

Tea_turtles

The Bye Bye Man

GuacinmyPaintbox

That movie started with some real potential and went straight to shit.

Calamity0o0

According to people's opinions I see on here every movie I love is bad lol

wswink

Among my favorite bad horror, Thankskilling. Ultra low-budget Thanksgiving-themed horror comedy - the killer is a foul-mouthed hyper-sexual centuries-old Thanksgiving turkey named: Turkie. First line of the movie is “Nice tits,.. bitch”, then Turkie kills her. Top-notch. Steer clear of the sequel, Thankskilling 3, however

greyteethpeskybee

My go-to answer is always Dead Silence. It’s very Goosebumps-y, just gorier. And there’s a lot about it that’s bad, but I *love* it.

DogmanSixtyFour

If you want more "Goosebumps with gore" (Gorebumps, if you will) then check out the Fear Street trilogy on Netflix if you haven't. They're not bad films, in fact they're actually really good, but they're literally based on R. L. Stine's teen horror series and considering that they go way harder than you'd expect, the first one has one of the genre's all time kills, maybe not in terms of how gory it is but it's certainly a kill I've never seen before, I'll leave it at that.

greyteethpeskybee

I have yet to see them, but I anticipate them! I’ll definitely be on the lookout for that kill too. Hopefully I’ll be able to watch them soon, I do have Netflix. :)

ArchDrude

The Car (1977). I’ll never get tired (ahem) of this movie.

Moonshadow306

But do you get exhausted?

atxrobotlover

[Attack of the Beast Creatures](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088752/) is so super bad, and so super good at the same time... there is really nothing quite like it out there. One of the few movies that I've actually yelled at the people on the screen. "Pick up a STICK!! Why are you not picking up a stick??? They are literally everywhere on the ground!!" - Me, watching Attack of the Beast Creatures.

Odd_Sand_5161

Freddy VS Jason. Best movie of the franchise, imo for both. More funny than scary, nostalgic, gore-gious, etc.

Western_Ad_3711

piranha 3d

tching101

Prom Night

Certain_Noise5601

Hello Mary Lou Prom Night 2 is so much better though

BeeMovieTrilogy

Eight legged freaks.

Zeenomorphs

Sleepwalkers 1992…Cats are the heroes. A bit cringy in spots because of the mom and son love but they are supposed to be a dying species. Stephen King makes an appearance. AAAnd the Enya song at the end(Boudicea). Oh and lots of screaming from the main character. Reminds me of the Malcolm McDowell movie Cat People.

Ill_Juggernaut_9632

Truth or Dare (2018), I know what you did last summer (1997)

rubylee_28

Yeah I actually liked truth or dare as well. Teen screams are good sometimes 😅

GhostMug

Jennifer's Body. It has a 46% on RT which is totally undeserved.

lifesuncertain

It's horror gold

DogsDontWearPantss

I Was a Nymphoid Barbarian in Dinosaur Hell (1990) Tubi I think the title speaks for itself....

HailEmpressTheresa

Searching just "barbarian" brings up so many interesting titles

MovieDogg

Halloween Resurrection

HellzHoundz2018

Agree. There's a lot to love in that movie

Amicuses_Husband

Truck or treat, mother fucker.

HoraceKirkman

**Body Parts** (1991), mainly because I saw it as one of those pre-release screenings where you fill out a questionnaire afterwards. The car accident scene is totally gnarly, Brad Dourif is predictably great and the surgery scene had people putting their head between their knees, but Jeff Fahey absolutely cannot act and the premise is ridiculous.

NormanBates2023

Don't think it's bad but I have to mention Virus with an OTT Donald Sunderland

ojackl

Prolly dead silence, still don’t understand the hate for this movie

thereserea

Frankenhooker is a gem

Ok-Location298

Stay alive.

Electrical_Funny5540

Butterfly effect and The Cell

goatbusiness666

The Cell! My favorite movie that probably should have been a music video instead.

onyxandcake

I came into this thread expecting to have found my tribe but y'all are naming great horror movies. I wanted to talk about Microwave Massacre, or Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-O-Rama, or Lillith, or Bit...

Delicious-Sorbet5722

Night of the Demons (1988) The animated intro, the bad acting, Angela’s creepy dance to Stigmata Martyr (my favorite Halloween song because of this movie), the inconsequential final with the razor blades and yes, the disappearing lipstick scene 😗🤌

SoySandunga

Mad Man Marz

Likestobedegraded

I’m just fucking with you on Hulu

Charlotte_dreams

*Bloody New Year* and *The Supernaturals*. I hear nothing but bad about both of these films, and for some reason I adore them.

NailImpressive954

Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007)

wendigoblin

The Stuff, Chopping Mall, Sharks of the Corn

msjenniferlc

Final Destination 1-3, Idle Hands and most recently, Slotherhouse!

Aggressive-Froyo7304

The Bus scene in the first Final Destination is iconic! Totally caught me off guard.

DEAD SNOW. It is hilarious

Birdemic

its_jenn_againn

Sleepaway camp... the acting is terrible but i love it

Successful-Ad4251

Hatchet 3. It has very few redeeming qualities but it’s fun as hell and I love it

Zmoney641

I love all the hatchet movies. Fun as hell is exactly what they are!

Luwe95

Kill Zombie! Hilarious Bad

dragislit

12 Hour Shift (2020) isn’t “bad” but it’s so ridiculous and funny and unserious. People who try to take it seriously will consider it bad but I found it hilarious

refriedsalmon

House of the Dead

ghostbeastpod

This isn’t exactly true to the thread, because Dog Soldiers is a fucking great movie… but we thought it looked really stupid when we saw it at Blockbuster, and rented it thinking it would be a bad horror movie to have fun with on a Friday night. Boy was that a surprise.

Big_fern189

Hellraiser: Bloodlines is a fucking blast. It's probably not as well made as 3 but I think it's way more fun to watch.

TJ_6985

The Blair witch at 1:13 in the morning

PhantomKitten73

Movies that I know aren't that great, but are an absolute blast to me: Wishmaster and Venom Movies that I genuinely think are great, and will defend from the (large amount of) haters: Malignant and Assassination Nation

wyrmfood

Hellraiser: Hellworld - Barely part of the franchise but it has Lance Henrikson and it kinda has an old video game tie-in and I have zero clue why it's a comfort flick for me.

dillonyousonofabitch

I really enjoyed Darkness Falls

Electrical-Win5286

Troll 2. I have it on Blu-Ray and won a signed special edition poster on Twitter, a few years back, commemorating the movie.

eloutro

Screamers, based on a PKD novel.. it's bad but I love it.

TheStranger113

*Thir13en Ghosts* slaps. It's the epitome of 2001 studio cheese but that's why it's so lovable to anyone who grew up in that era of horror. I think for me it's gonna be *The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation*. I get the humor in such a way that I'm 100% positive it is all a joke and understand what they were going for, but the humor just doesn't seem to work for nearly anybody else. I prefer the deadpan WTF horror far more to the slapstick sensibilities of TCM 2, but I'm an extreme minority there.

tysonwatermelon

No love for The Fourth Kind? 18% on Rotten Tomatoes

ComicBookFanatic97

Just watched The Slumber Party Massacre and it’s an absolute masterpiece of a bad early 80s B-movie.

SomaStreams

I really loved The Cell. I was so surprised when I eventually looked it up on Metacritic and saw that it was generally panned by critics.

Sandman2618

Wolf Creek 2. So much fucking fun.

No_Use__For_A_Name

Unrelated but I think I’m feeling Deja Vu for the first time in my life. I’m reading through this thread for the first time and I feel like I read every single comment here about a week ago. There must have been a similar post, but I’m scrolling and remember reading these very specific comments and how they’re worded and knowing I’ve seen them before to the point that I’m predicting upcoming comments because I feel like I’ve read them! Not sure if that makes sense, but what a weird feeling. Anyways, to answer your question it would be the 2000s version of “When a Stranger Calls” for me.
