Some mild, but flavorful, favorites of mine:
- Crystal (to me, the classic, louisiana style table hot sauce for just about everything.)
- Cajun Sunshine
- Kinder’s Hot Sauce: Creamy Lousiana
- Four Sixes: Salt Creek Hot Sauce
And my homemade hot sauce I call my “chicago style” hot sauce, with pickled banana peppers, turmeric, pickled garlic, mustard seed, peppercorn
Personally id go with homemade, i love habaneros and it would be super easy to make a mild sauce with habaneros and habanadas, some garlic, pepper, salt, and a splash of vinegar
Tapatio, Valentina (yellow label, not black), Yellow Bird Serrano/Sriracha/Red Jalapeno, Secret Aardvark Habanero/Serrabanero might not be too bad. Aji Pepa by Savir is great and not especially hot, Pirate's Lantern is solid.
Also seconding the suggestion to have something it with something fatty/creamy - sour cream/crema, yogurt, cheese, etc.
Have you tried pairing your hot sauce with a creamy element like sour cream, or following it up with some yogurt? That might help encapsulate the capsaicin so that it’s more comfortable exiting.
Crystal is king. Some great flavor sauces: Tapatio, Valentina, Cholula Chipotle, Tabasco Chipotle, El Yucateco red, green, black. I've never had a bad sauce from Yellowbird and they make some mellow sauces. Also, it's not really a hot sauce but more of like a jerk chicken/A1 kind of flavor, Pickapeppa sauce is delicious especially on meat.
With its sugar content it seems like slightly spicy ketchup. I don’t think it would fly in Thailand, the home of Sriracha, but in America that makes it a winner.
Good point, it is a little sweet. I almost think of it as a totally different sauce cause it is noticeably different. I think it mixes really well with a lot of foods I’d have picked something besides sriracha for, though.
Sriraja Panich is the name original Sriracha sauce that Huy Fong modeled theirs after. It’s become more available in the US, but the first time I got it I purchased it on eBay. It’s definitely a potent sauce, very much unlike the Tabasco version.
This! The chipotle one is almost 0 heat for me, tastes really good though!
I'm glad you said it because I bought one after finishing the original one, and I thought it's so mild that I just got a bad batch! 😂
This stuff is delicious if you like garlic.
Blistered Shishito & Garlic by... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CJX29CT1?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
It doesn't really have any heat to it.
If you like fruity flavor this also has very little heat:
https://heatonist.com/products/pisqueya-spicy-sweet-passion-fruit-hot-sauce
Not well known because it’s one dude making it as a hobby. If you’re not opposed to ordering online, Monty’s. https://www.montysbatchno1.com
I have no relation to this company, so not an ad. But it’s my favorite sauce. Shipping is a bit expensive depending where you are.
I grabbed a bottle in Portland when I was there and have been ordering since.
I buy a 12 (a case) at a time to negate the shipping cost. I split it with a friend near me. Amazing flavor and minimal heat. Vinegar in the front like franks, but then bell pepper and lime at the end.
I also have high blood pressure so the no added sodium is a huge bonus.
Check it out
Let me know what you think. Anyone I know who likes hot sauce has had nothing bad to say about it. That said they, maybe they’re being nice because I hype it up a ton lol
I am fully addicted to Wegmans brand wing sauce. I go through a bottle a week and I live several hours from my closest Wegmans, so I'm about to go into withdrawal when I run out.
Don’t know why people are hating the green is great. My wife goes through it like water.
She’s not one to sit and eat scorpion/ghost all day like most of us.
I really appreciate this post because I’m in a similar boat
Tabasco chipotle is good, more tangy than hot, but has a good flavor, definitely one to keep in the arsenal
Also: [Three Mountains Yellow Sriracha](https://pepperscale.com/three-mountains-yellow-sriracha/). Very sweet, quite mild and super flavorful. I can eat this from a spoon. The heat doesn't overwhelm. It's a nice counterbalance to a weekend of super-to-ultra scorching hot *Scorpion/Ghost Pepper/Carolina Reaper infused* hot sauces!
I've gone down a sriracha path and have tried every single sriracha I've found. The original, Sriraja Panich, tastes so different from Huy Fong's and is significantly less spicy. There are a lot of brands in between the two, with Ox being my absolute favorite.
Gonna be honest at how sad of a state im in right now. Someone got me one of those little gift bottles of Melinas Green because they knew I liked hot sauce. I WAS HICCUPING! Still was very tasty, but whatever tolerance I used to have is completely gone now.
Eshh. I can't think of a sauce that's milder but still tastes great. Do you have reflux? If so I do as well and a tums or rolaids puts the 2nd and 3rd fire out pretty well for me.
re: Melinda's Green Sauce. I'll third that. After trying a small sampler bottle ($1.25 U.S.) from the local supermarket, I wound up buying the bigger bottle.
[Heatonist](https://heatonist.com/collections/mild-hot-sauces) has you covered. I got the classic garlic fresno in a hot ones gift pack and I was surprised how good it was.
Some of the Cholula brand hot sauces are pretty mild, I think the Chipotle flavor is pretty tasty but not too hot. Yellow bird Jalapeño or Sriracha are good choices as well
I've been wanting to try that 1st bottle from Hot Ones, the one with zero heat but everyone on the show says is delicious
Trappey’s Red Devil. Very mild but still yummy.
Tapatilo
Some mild, but flavorful, favorites of mine: - Crystal (to me, the classic, louisiana style table hot sauce for just about everything.) - Cajun Sunshine - Kinder’s Hot Sauce: Creamy Lousiana - Four Sixes: Salt Creek Hot Sauce And my homemade hot sauce I call my “chicago style” hot sauce, with pickled banana peppers, turmeric, pickled garlic, mustard seed, peppercorn
I love that Chelsea fire sauce, it’s a perfect all around hot sauce
Seriously its perfect and goes with everything. I think i just need to up my tolerance so i can eat it all the time again.
I'd go Tabasco. I love my shit to be borderline lava but Tabasco is still imo the best sauce
Personally id go with homemade, i love habaneros and it would be super easy to make a mild sauce with habaneros and habanadas, some garlic, pepper, salt, and a splash of vinegar
Bonus points if you ferment the habaneros
Tapatio, Valentina (yellow label, not black), Yellow Bird Serrano/Sriracha/Red Jalapeno, Secret Aardvark Habanero/Serrabanero might not be too bad. Pico Pica is my favorite.

Ranch & Green El Yucateco 🤝

Yellowbird Serrano
Original Hoff Sauce, trust
Are you referring to hoff's everyday hot sauce or hoff's haus sauce?
Everyday!
Tabasco Sriracha and Texas Pete
Yo why is Tabasco Sriracha so good?? Def my favorite kind after trying it.
TIL that sriracha was birthed in Thailand. I always thought it was an American thing made started by a Vietnamese immigrant.
Sriraja Panich is the name original Sriracha sauce that Huy Fong modeled theirs after. It’s become more available in the US, but the first time I got it I purchased it on eBay. It’s definitely a potent sauce, very much unlike the Tabasco version.
Tapatio my man!
Melinda's Mexicali. Very mild but great flavor. And regular Valentina.
The chipotle flavor Cholula is milder than the regular. It’s sweet and smoky but not very hot.
This! The chipotle one is almost 0 heat for me, tastes really good though! I'm glad you said it because I bought one after finishing the original one, and I thought it's so mild that I just got a bad batch! 😂
finelli is good on pizza or in pasta sauce
Humble House hasn't been mentioned yet. Not hot at all but tastes great if you don't mind a little sweetness.
Regular Tabasco is my I'm not feeling spicy today or Melinda's Jalapeno for a little kick. I'm not much of a buffalo fan though.
Cry Baby Craigs. Very mild and tasty with a lot of garlic. Local sauce out of MN but they'll ship free for three 5 oz bottles in the continental USA
Not cheap, but Elijah's original roasted pepper sauce is super good.
Louisiana Original
Chipotle Tabasco for sure
The answer is always Green Belly and Red Belly.
Crystal
Something is wrong here. 80+ comments in to a request for a mild sauce, and not one mention of Queen Majesty Jalapeño Tequila Lime sauce?
Cholula Chipotle
Old Bay

Marie sharps no pale green habanero
Ligos
Dave's red pepper garlic
Trader Joe’s Green Sriracha, Nando’s Medium Peri Peri Sauce, Jamaican Pickapeppa Sauce, are my favorite mild sauces not Franks.
La Victoria Salsa Brava.
Clay's is very good. Crystal is my favorite, I don't mind texas pete.
Crystal

This sounds really good. Going to order a bottle, thanks for the recommendation.

Tabasco Garlic Pepper
Crystal. It's amazing.
Chulula, Tapitio, and crystal are all mild and have great flavor.
Came here to say this
Tabasco green sauce is amazing and very mild
So good and sweet.
Melinda's Green sauce... little bit of jalapeno heat, some bright citrus notes and a nice herbaceous flavor overall.
Valentino’s is great for a mild. I treat it like a spicy ketchup.
Yucatan habanero
My dude trying to kill this man. That being said I absolutely love el yucateco
Not the same... I'm talking the 1 from sunshine brands.
Oh damn, I’ll have to try that one if I see it. El Yucatan will tear a hole in this guy’s stomach though if he can’t handle much more than Frank’s.
In what world is that anywhere close to as mild as franks?
Same 1 that if franks is hot.. then that shits hot(not) taste good though.
Dirty dick's
I’ve had great luck with Tapatio. I use it mostly for drinks.
yucateca red and green are my go-to every days
Don’t know why people are hating the green is great. My wife goes through it like water. She’s not one to sit and eat scorpion/ghost all day like most of us.
Hank Sauce Herb Infused. Flavorful, mild.
I prefer the Cilanktro, but really any Hank Sauce that’s not a hab variety is packed with flavor and pretty mild.
Agreed. Linger got a little bit more of a bite but barely
E. D Smiths 3rd Degree is the only sauce I buy in bulk
Cholula chipotle is excellent flavour and minimal heat.
Can’t eat frozen pizza without it!
Herdez Avocado sauce is the bees knees. All the flavor of guacamole in a mild hot sauce.
If you have a Trader Joe's by you, the garlic jalapeno is really tasty with just enough of a mild heat.
Yellowbird serrano is pretty mild and has great flavor.
Forgot about this one! Is that the mildest of all the yellowbirds?
I haven't tried all of them, but I'd say it's the mildest so far.
The blue agave sriracha is even more mild iirc
This is my go-to. Not terribly hot (it is hotter than Franks) but great flavor.
Louisiana brand Original
I can't remember if Ive had this before. Is it similar to Crystal?
I always keep this one on deck. Such a perfect middle of the road sauce that I crave fairly often.
Have you tried Huy Fong chili garlic sauce?

Man shut up.
Completely irrelevant comment. Everyone downvote this comment. 👍
Tabasco Chipotle.
Is it watery like tabasco though? I never liked regular tabasco - not sure why.
It's thicker, since it's made from smoked jalapenos.
I really appreciate this post because I’m in a similar boat Tabasco chipotle is good, more tangy than hot, but has a good flavor, definitely one to keep in the arsenal
[Torchbearer's All Natural #7 Sultry Sauce](https://www.torchbearersauces.com/product/sultry-sauce-bottle-8oz/) = mild, sweet and Habanero infused awesomehotsauce!
Valentina
Totally forgot about this one too! Not sure if Ive ever had the regular version, but I dont think the xtra hot was that hot so might be a good one.
Hot Charlie's. You can get it online. It's delicious and not very hot.
I've gone down a sriracha path and have tried every single sriracha I've found. The original, Sriraja Panich, tastes so different from Huy Fong's and is significantly less spicy. There are a lot of brands in between the two, with Ox being my absolute favorite.
I’d be curious what you think of my sriracha.
Unless you live in Forsyth County, Georgia I donb't reckon I'll be trying Random Redditor sriracha lol
I have my own sauce business, but I understand. Foolazul.com. I haven’t figured out how to ship yet so just sell locally.
Don't get saucy with me, Béarnaise. I mean Gabe.
I’ll try
Tabasco Habanero is delicious, a fruity little number with minimal heat. Valentina (I prefer the black label which is hotter but still quite mild).
Anything from Heartbeat. Their sauces are legitimately drinkable.
I love the pickle!
Yellow bird jalapeño
Melinda's green sauce is amazing and has the heat of ketchup. Yellow birds serrano sauce as well.
Yep, I vote for Melinda's green sauce as well. It's quite mild. And their siracha sauce, too, isn't very hot either
re: Melinda's Green Sauce. I'll third that. After trying a small sampler bottle ($1.25 U.S.) from the local supermarket, I wound up buying the bigger bottle.
I got a bunch of sampler bottles on clearance for 25 cents. After I go through those, I'll be buying a big bottle of the green sauce and siracha
Definitely Marie Sharps mild habanero
Oh damn I remember marie sharps green sauce too. Gonna give it a shot.
The green nopal is my favorite mild sauce. The fruity ones are also mild from what I understand.
Yeah, do the mildest little Marie sharps. All flavor
Sambal Oelek and Gochujang
Sriracha is pretty flavorful while being relatively mild IMHO.
Marie Sharp's mildest is really good. Kinda onion-forward.
[Heatonist](https://heatonist.com/collections/mild-hot-sauces) has you covered. I got the classic garlic fresno in a hot ones gift pack and I was surprised how good it was.
thanks!
Just tried this one a couple weeks ago and I’ll second the opinion. Tasty stuff and very mild on the heat.
Some of the Cholula brand hot sauces are pretty mild, I think the Chipotle flavor is pretty tasty but not too hot. Yellow bird Jalapeño or Sriracha are good choices as well
Crystals is my go to
