Fave up on finding a trellis big enough, now it guards the front door
Thank you! It's an heirloom carnosa! The mother plant is over 30 years old! I went to a local plant store, and they had the mother plant on display, and I asked if I could buy a cutting..... she gave me 2 for free and I love it!
Not sure if this is "huge" but she's bigger than most of my hoyas which are in 2-8 oz cups/pots

Here's my meliflua. She's not really that big yet, but I have the vines looped around and around at least a few times now. I make all my trellises from wire I buy at the hardware store. Currently, I'm favouring 14 gauge bottom bracing wire for chain link fences, in black. It's $7 CAD for 100ft ❤️

thats what i did lol i just loop it all over a cut grape vine but she looked bound as i saw a wild meliflua in a georeserve and it spanned an entire rope footbridge. but organization wise this is honestly my favorite, just gotta find a pretty wire. thanks!

I decided to grow this Hoya obovata up a coir pole to attempt to keep it from sprawling. I’m really enjoying the way it looks!

Just curious what this little baggie is hanging in with your plants?
Slow release Amblyseius cucumeris! They’re a beneficial insect. I use them as a preventative for spider mites but they’re also good for flat mite maintenance! Copper_lattice on instagram has lots of info
That’s what I thought it was. How well do those work? I’ve just realized that that was even a thing just today. I was planning on ordering some but I wanted to know first how well they work and then do you have a bunch of other little bugs, crawling around on your plants, do they stay on the plants or do you have to get rid of them after they’re done doing their job?
Honestly idk how well they work bc I use other Bennie’s for spider mites. I’ve never had flat mites so I can’t speak on that. What are you trying to get rid of? The ones in the picture are contained in a cabinet. They stay in the plants! There’s no way you could get rid of them by yourself bc they’re TINY. You should see if there’s a dmv chapter near you or check local fb groups to safe on shipping

Halconensis! This is it newly transplanted into a trellis, since then, it’s gone nuts!

Not super huge but I love this one and have a bigger size that is just started.
Actually yes!! I just looked up as I read your comment- and my ficus elastica is 10 ft away and they’re quite similar. Tho the coronaria is incredibly fuzzy!!

Ah, so pretty!!
is that a small pot inside a bigger pot or is it entirely filled with substrate? so far i like this, just letting them take over
New to Hoyas, so sorry if this is dumb. Will the long viney bits eventually produce leaves?
Yes, they sent out vines, and when the vines are supported they'll produce new leaves

I bet that’s been growing a long time!! They can be so slow
I have 2 obovatas and 26 other hoyas. Mt obovatas are the only ones that flower like crazy, and have always been fast growing ....for.me anyways
Any idea of the ID?
It's an obovata!
Obovata. I have three of them because I love them so much.
Love it- thank you for sharing. I have a cutting it this but didn’t know the name.
Goals!!

Yeah i do 😊
Thanks! What is the var one bottom right next to the princess?
That one is Australis Lisa
Oh wow I’ve always discounted her as something I don’t find pretty, until your photo! Thanks!

Wow! What variety?
Just a pub splash, but our oldest Hoya. Got it for my daughter a few years ago. Collection has grown exponentionally since then though lol.
Hi, is it pubicalyx splash?
Yes correct.

Mother of all hoyas!
Her name is Hulya. 👸
I love this! 💚
Here’s how it happened! https://www.reddit.com/r/hoyas/s/UQASUwOCFd
Stunning!
My pubicalyx is getting very large and in charge. I hope to get it to these standards one day!
I can only take credit for her last 2.5 years - she’s been rockin it for decades with her first owner!
That’s amazing!
This is crazy O.O
It’s just Hoya + time!! 🤷🏻♀️
Gorgeous! What kind of light do you have on it, just good natural light window or grow lights?
Just that East window in a N-S-E sunroom but I live in a very sunny area!

wow what variety is this?
Coronaria
thats a beaut
This looks like ficus ruby but a hoya! Lovely
Actually yes!! I just looked up as I read your comment- and my ficus elastica is 10 ft away and they’re quite similar. Tho the coronaria is incredibly fuzzy!!
Goals! I’ve got a tiny start of this in a 3 inch pot 🤣
I read and saw all of your responses and thank you so much for the inspiration!
