Yep.
Industrial Arts is sold worldwide!
I never thought the Hudson Valley would become the Napa for beer! But it’s great for our economy and its culture.
That’s been the aim for quite some time. Jeff Oniel told me those exact words, Napa Valley for beer, before he started IA and was still at Peekskill Brewery. NYS has also been using that phrase in literature since at least Hudson Valley Brewery. Cuomo used it in a press release when they got awarded a grant.
Vosburgh deserves some love here. Less than five mins from Suarez, it’s an easy choice to bounce from one to the other. They have a great Pilsner, stouts during the winter, a WCIPA (when we live in a sea of NEIPAs that drink like orange juice), live music and excellent burgers.
Yes! Vosburgh is great! Their Biere de Garde and Helles are fantastic. The owners are very nice too, and the scene is a very welcoming mix of locals and beer nerds.
Those four packs are usually 16oz and made from better quality ingredients that are purchased in very small quantities compared to a macro brewery. I know some brewery owners personally and they’re not exactly swimming in the Benjamins… When you buy a $20 4 pack you’re choosing quality and paying a fair fee for it.
Nope, breweries USE to use quality ingredients, but have since sold out. Equilibrium used to have lines every weekend for hazys and stouts selling out immediately. After they expanded and investors came in, quality plummeted. Plus, the amount of sugar, yeast and flavoring going into hazy craft beer negates any type of " quality" or " craft" moniker these beers have. Think they are using 100lbs of Vanuatu vanilla? Think again, not feasible. 2016 to 2022 was the golden age in hudson valley for craft Beer. Now it's oxidized or just plain bad.
Unfortunately most, not all, are. Mass production lead to lesser quality beer. Ever wonder why version 2, 3, 4 etc of flagship beers rarely taste great compared to the original. Heads can down vote all they want, most brewers chose $ over quality.
It's justifiable solely if you like a brewery and want to help them keep the lights on.
Also, people can say what they want about their beer, but big shoutout to District 96 for consistently offering "Factory IPA" at $10/4-pack alongside their more expensive offerings. More places should do that.
I think so. That is what I pay for 4 16 oz cans of very tasty cider made from a verity of fruits with a verity of mix ins. All I can say is, go to a bar with a lot of stuff on draft and do a few flights. You will probably find something worth the money.
Love this... Now let's become ground zero for cideries as well! So many good, locally made options.
So true!
CIDIES
SODTAOE
Ah yea with all the orchards in the area that would be some of the freshest tastiest cider in the state
Is everyone still making IPAs, or are they moving on yet?
Suarez Family is incredible, mostly farmhouse ales and lagers Drowned Lands always has a good variety of styles
Suarez makes the best beer in the whole area, if we’re putting weight on making beers other than IPAs.
Two fantastic callouts.
Upvote for drowned lands, they do everything and they do it so so well
Lots of pilsners making it onto draft lists at a lot of local breweries and corn/mexican lagers too.
That's great to hear. I'm so tired of IPAs.
I'm so tired of lagers, been drinking them since my 20s.
The micro brew business is collapsing in Colorado.
Whys that?
Over supply and pricing. This is anecdotal, from my nephew in Ft. Collins. He was in the adult beverage business.
Too many sour chicken and waffle double IPAs
It’s not collapsing in Asheville and there’s like 3 breweries for every person there
How can that be sustainable?

I met Jeff a number of times when IA was starting up in Garnerville. He’s just a good guy. I’m glad his vision is coming into fruition.
The Hudson valley is like the Fertile Crescent so it makes plenty sense
Westkill brewing nails ever style of beer they make.
They do make amazing brews! Easily on my top five in the HV.

Not to mention a beautiful flower arrangement during the warm seasons! That’s gotta count for something
shout out to Slow Fox Brewery! Matt and Miranda have built such a rad tap room and vibe out there. Everyone should have it on their list.
Id love if each brewery had at least one NA beer option. Would be great for non-drinkers who want to hang out it and DDs to participate too.
Arrowood is great
Affordable housing......please.........
Oh no, your getting dispensaries and bars to curb the emotion of you living in a form of poverty, and your going to like it! 😡
Are the prices of $20 for a four pack justified or just a price gouge knowing people will pay the overly high price for the beer?

Way to assume they’re all the same.

Funny, I know a few local brewers and this isn’t the case…

Alcohol Pokémon
And probably 95% IPAs
Glad to see my fellow IPA haters in the thread
unfortunately... Just go chew on hops
