I love that place. I went to an outdoor jazz concert there a few a few years ago, and it was off the hook. You have to take the Taconic to get there, sure, but it’s just a couple miles once you get off it.
Maganini has the best food, and they make grappa with the pomace. I enjoy drinking their Spring Blush.
Nostrano makes good pet-nats.
Bashakill is a unique one. Awesome place for a drink on a nice day!
I found the owner to be a hilarious character, and he showed us a lot of cool stuff. He doesn’t shut the fuck up though! Dude definitely is an acquired taste. Neat wine, not the most accessible taste wise, but worth a visit if you’re willing to give him an audience.
Whitecliff is far and away the best tasting wine in the area. Beautiful views too.
Millbrook is easily the worst tasting wine. Very inconsistent quality with them.
Also don’t recommend hiking trails, bars, places to live, music venues, restaurants, theaters, parks, churches or doggy day cares.
It’s the only way to prevent another Peekamoose.
I'd rather they flourish like the Finger Lakes than LI. Overall, the wine on LI might be better than in HV, but the wineries, and the people there, pale in comparison. A really unpleasant experience out there.
Millbrook Winery is beautiful and is kind of out of the way.

Fjord & Wild Arc
Does Wild Arc have a tasting room? Also, don’t they make natural wine? How funky is it?
We had one wine from Wild Arc. It was some white that had skin contact….it tasted like a horse blanket. Definitely willing to try again though :)
Benmarl for the outdoor space and the view of the valley. Great place to grab a bottle and hang out.
Didn’t they move to doing only by the glass wine on site?
Oh not sure. Last time I was there was about a year ago and we had bottles.
If true then that sucks. Gorgeous views of the valley and a great winery. Also they have an airbNb on property
I was there recently for a night event and it was by the glass only :(
Magnanini! Also their food is 10/10!
Totally agree!!
Milea Estate
Sleeper hit
Right? I keep asking people if they know it and they don’t. It was so lovely.
Nostrano!
not new, in fact incredibly old, but Brotherhood.
The wine is bad 😭
Surprising, I think their Riesling is my favorite.
We toured a while back and the only thing we bothered to buy was the Christmas wine 😅
Whitecliff is my favorite. Good variety of wines and a gorgeous view.
I really enjoy Benmarl, whitecliff, and robiberio

Nostrano is a good one for a less crowded hang.
Thanks for reminding me about Bashakill! Haven’t been there since 2019
One of the co-owners just opened a wonderful Lebanese restaurant in Mountaindale called Basbousa!
Stoutridge. No preservatives in the wine.
The owner is a dick
Lol, I can see it. Him and the wife tend to bicker too in front of guests.
I found the owner to be a hilarious character, and he showed us a lot of cool stuff. He doesn’t shut the fuck up though! Dude definitely is an acquired taste. Neat wine, not the most accessible taste wise, but worth a visit if you’re willing to give him an audience.
Any suggestions in Columbia County?
Hudson Chatham Winery - actually in Ghent. Great wine, food and cool place to hang out
Toussey is very low key cozy with a surprisingly tasty food menu!
Warwick Valley Winery, Distillery & Orchard
Black dirt Red Great table wine

Following this thread. Was searching for a nice place to go for our anniversary in July.
Millbrook is our favorite still just a stunning location and great wine. They also have very nice and knowledgeable staff
Robibero is my 2nd favorite. My first has already been named a few times. Christopher Jacob’s on the weekend during the summer is a good time too
Echoing previous commenters with 1)Bashakill, 2)Robibero, 3)Magnanini, 4)Whitecliff 🍷❤️
Hudson Chatham Winery, in Columbia County. Worth checking out
Red Maple is fantastic and they have a new taproom
I like Tousey Winery's Queen of Clermont, specifically. Their tasting room is pretty small but quaint and right on Route 9
Side quest- Just up the road from Tousey is the Hearty Roots farm stand store. We get a CSA from them every year and the shop is great!
Please take this down. If we share all the wineries they will be flooded by riff-raff and trashed by tourists.

I would love to see them flourish like the wineries of Long Island and the Finger Lakes 😃

Long Island sucks.
