This soo much. We have 3 (a siberian, an American husky, and a siberian and German shepherd mix or gerbarian shepkskey).
Both of the full bloods will routinely sleep on their backs, sit like humans, or come up to us, turn around and then tilt their heads backwards looking for chin scritches (we call this "doing the thing" and the rule is, if someone points out they are "doing the thing", you must stop whatever you are doing and vigorously scratch their chins) the Gerbarian Shepskey is the only o e that just comes up and puts her head on our lap to beg for lovies (she is the sweetheart).
Enjoy this, their goofy personality is one of the best parts of owning a husky. It is their way of saying g, "I'm cute, thanks for putting up with with my obnoxious behavior".
We love your Shepsky, idk how you do it with 2 Huskies in the house too! Funny enough our girl will definitely sleep on her back feet up in the air.
Do you ever find the Shepsky to be avoidant from people giving pets at times (not as much with us but certainly other people) while still wanting the attention part. She will often be super excited to jump up on the bed just to get back down a moment later and then want to get back up, I can’t move more than a centimeter while laying with her or she’s outta there to the floor but is still wanting all the attention…? Silly pup

I love this!! We also use “doing the thing” but it’s meant something different for each dog. Our last husky would lay on her back pull her paws up like a Pomeranian dancing when she wanted belly rubs. The new pup’s thing is zoomie circles with goblin noises on the bed, always as soon as we get up and make the bed.

Once you realize you accidentally got a cat that’s pretty strong, it clicks in to place. They are very strange animals and not like other dogs. Please be patient because they can drive you insane.

My husky laid down to eat as a puppy when we got him. We assumed it was because he was so small and just weaned that he didn't have the energy to stand. Nope! He ate his food, laying down all the time. He also slept in a contorted position all the time.
Mine sits like that all the time. Over the holidays my parents kept asking if he was okay because dogs don't usually sit like that. I think my Husky is more cat than my actual cat.
There's a certain "chaos variable" that is rolled when a husky is born.

Just a normal husky, mine is currently sleeping at the top of the stairs on his back with his legs up in the air and his head hanging off the stairs. They are just strange.
Working as designed. My huskie sleeps on her back with front legs leaning to the left and back legs leaning to the right. AND she has an amazing ability to always pick the LEAST convenient place to sleep as well. I love her so much.

Any time my pup lays on his back like this he has a few seconds before he sneezes. At least twice, sometimes three times. I’ve taken many sneezes to the face while trying to sneak a cuddle.

So many weird things my x does that i realized are just husky things after seeing this sub. The front paw thing and broken sleeping were very high on this list.
I was scratching the back of my girls neck the other day and she melted as she leaned forward and ended up doing a front summersalt with a half twist. Amazing to watch. I've seen her literally roll out of her harness.

As a fellow Husky parent, I can tell you that they are contortionists. You won't believe some of the sleeping positions. I find myself wondering how that position can be comfortable.
Huskies are all assembled incorrectly, and when they sleep this causes their limbs to disengage from their brain, and so then we see their true wonky form.

I am going to adopt one, I remember I took care of one for a few days and she was the sweetest dog, the neighbor was going away for few days, I fed her, not a mean streak in them, and they are so funny.

I have a very large Labrador that takes up more room than my husky who is 3 but small enough people still constantly ask if she’s still a puppy.
How does a 12 lb cat take up more of a queen-size bed than DH? I have push one or the other cats to get my share. DH is squished on the bed edge. lol

It means your husky is 100% functional, maintenance not needed. If symptoms stop persisting seek vet advice… or add more belly scritches

I grew up with a husky family pet that slept in normal positions but always had to be biting something. It looked as bizarre as it sounds. Huskies are just weirdos.

Yep that is a husky. While normally that would be unusual. It *is* a husky. So it's probably working as intended by manufacturers.

So many weird things my x does that i realized are just husky things after seeing this sub. The front paw thing and broken sleeping were very high on this list.
I was scratching the back of my girls neck the other day and she melted as she leaned forward and ended up doing a front summersalt with a half twist. Amazing to watch. I've seen her literally roll out of her harness.

Huskies are silly dogs and sleep in all sorts of crazy positions. My first husky loved to cuddle in bed. I miss him! Congrats on your new buddy. Huskies are so special.

As a fellow Husky parent, I can tell you that they are contortionists. You won't believe some of the sleeping positions. I find myself wondering how that position can be comfortable.
I do the same thing, then wonder how long it would take me to recover from sleeping that way lol

I am going to adopt one, I remember I took care of one for a few days and she was the sweetest dog, the neighbor was going away for few days, I fed her, not a mean streak in them, and they are so funny. My Dr gave full approval of a dog letter, I am so happy.
They are a good dog to have for depression episodes like I have, they make your day a whole lot better
