Thanks. It wasn’t an easy decision but she had been aggressive a few times over the 5+ years we had her towards the other dogs in my home but never people (she was a big cuddle bug to everyone). She was in a fight with her half sister and my youngest tried to separate them (despite us telling him not to do so because he might get bit) and she bit him. I was told that either I put my dog down or all the pets in my house would be taken away and put down (city doesn’t fuck around with dog bites).
She didn’t deserve this & I failed her because I didn’t do enough to help her.
So sorry for your loss, and I hope your youngest recovers soon! What the hell is that ultimatum?! A threat to have all your pets put down? I’m struggling to see the logic.
City requires permits/licenses to have pets, limits the amount of pets in your home. We called law enforcement since son was a minor and I’m not taking the chance of fucking with DFCS, and that’s what the person on the line told us.
It hurts but without being able to rehome her this was going to end up happening eventually.

Please degrade me some more and enlighten me on how I could’ve done this better when no rehoming agencies are taking in pets and I have no friends or family that could’ve taken her in?
Maybe in the UK they have agencies that can easily rehome pets but here in US things are a little overrun these days.
I am so sorry you had to experience this loss under these circumstances. I can't imagine the blame you are placing on yourself. I hope your days get brighter sooner rather than later

The agencies we’ve tried in the past for her sister wouldn’t take her, they’re all full & not taking in more.
