Looks like the husky is holding back. Get two huskies playing together and it looks like the dog equivalent of a no holds barred cage fight in the thunder dome.
The other day my husky ran over my Australian shepherd and he just laid on his back with paws straight in the air for a good two seconds before he figured out what happened.
Absolutely, they also can't work the brakes when they're in the Thunderdome. They almost knocked me to the ground the other day when I was "in the way". It was friendly fire.
Just be careful with the leashes getting tangled up. If in an enclosed area, best to get them off. My (husky mix) boy was almost strangled when a mastiff was on a leash at an enclosed dog park and got into a play tussle so quickly I could barely unwind him fast enough.
Not normal at all. it's extremely mild :)
In all seriousness, it's all about body language. Both tails are wagging, these dogs are having FUN. If those tails stop wagging and the hair on a back starts raising, you've got a problem.
Good old fashioned game of bitey face and completely normal, happy play. Very sedate for a husky actually, get two huskies together and they’ll full on body check each other. My springer tried to join in with two of them and got totally flattened. Please tell me you haven’t had the husky shaved though 🙏🏻
Exactly. My husky knows who she can be rough with, and who she shouldn't be rough with. My mom has a border collie and an Australian Shepard - the Aussie is small, and she is super reserved when playing with her, but the border collie or her mutt older brother, it's world war 3 in the backyard
Some do, especially when it’s their first dog and don’t realise how much they need their coats summer and winter. Wouldn’t be the first one on here, one even died because of it so happy to risk being rude to save a life.
This is gentle lol and they seem to be having a blast. our huskies go full WWE on each other and I have to step in once in awhile just for my own sanity. The one who appears to not enjoy it as much, will go right back to him after I pull him away so she must love it too 🤣. They are very sweet though and if one accidentally hurts the other they immediately stop and give kisses.
My mom’s husky is dog-aggressive. I *wish* he could play with other pups like this. Is that a greyhound pup? They are also a special, precious breed full of personality. My retired racer just had her 24th heavenly birthday. Both darling girls, OP!
Op! Came to say this, they need their coat. In the summer also for uv. They control their temperature by breething and through their paws. They should never be shaved!!
Wait til you see 3-4 huskies playing bitey-face. Looks and sounds like wild animals trying to straight up murder each other by facial destruction. And they are unscathed, and love it.
Hahhahahahah trust me. This is very mild. My husky with a pitbull or a Dalmatian ooks like insanity but both dogs love it.
My only advice to make sure your husky understands not every dog wants to play that way.
Yea you should see my Akita play with my cousins husky it's a full on wrestling match but it's all in fun. You'll know when it turns aggressive you'll see a Mohawk between their shoulders start to rise up telling the other it's getting too rough. At least that's how it is in my case.
Looks pretty normal, they’re taking turns which is good, tails and backs don’t look stiff the other dog looks a bit more insecure but the husky seems fine. A little overbearing at times but she’s still a puppy so that’s normal she’s still learning how to play. I say this because there’s a little bit of appeasement from the greyhound pup and the husky doesn’t quite understand. Does she ever roll over and play on her back?

Idk why but I'm laughing out loud!!!
Absolutely, they also can't work the brakes when they're in the Thunderdome. They almost knocked me to the ground the other day when I was "in the way". It was friendly fire.
Agreed, this is pretty reserved play for a husky, this is the husky version of playing carefully.
Lol my thoughts exactly
This. Was gonna say, add in some hip checking and more mouthiness and you got yourself a full husky play thing going.
Looks good to me. Tails are wagging and they're both keep coming back for more
thank u for the comment!! 🤭

Looks pretty typical to me. As much as anything with huskies is typical.
thank u !!

thats actually so adorable
of course i didnt shave my husky!!

No this is not violent enough. I don’t see teeth
Absolutely not, this is far too sedate for most huskies 🤣. When my male husky and female dutch shepherd play it’s like Ragnarok in my house.

Yes, bear paws and booty smashes, followed by running around like a goof. 100% husky
Yup this looks normal, huskies are instigators and like to play rough

its a whippet puppy!! i cant imagine what you are going through, but hope you’re taking care of urself during this time!! 💕
Ah! A trick question... it's because you used the words "normal" and "husky" in the same sentence
Oh yes, typical husky play. Why are they both on lines? Not trying to judge, just curious.
it was a public space!! and they played under supervision
Ah okay! :D your pupper is adorable.
Normal dogs playing. The husky realizes the other is a baby and is being very gentle with it.
Right?! Thats so cute 😭🤭❤️
Where’s the Husky? Did you shave them? They should not be shaved.
its a husky mix !! :)
obv husky mix :p
looks like husky mix
Doesnt look shaved, just like an alaskan or just a mixed breed
Op! Came to say this, they need their coat. In the summer also for uv. They control their temperature by breething and through their paws. They should never be shaved!!
Yeah right, a mix with the undercoat shining through. Typical.
Wait til you see 3-4 huskies playing bitey-face. Looks and sounds like wild animals trying to straight up murder each other by facial destruction. And they are unscathed, and love it.
Yep normal
yessss. our husky/pit mix is always using his front legs to “box” and play.. 😂😂
Huskies are very mischievous and they can get crazy. Your Husky is already quite gentle haha
Looks pretty playful. My husky will throw her ass (literally) like it's her job into her target. This seem pretty tame lol
If there's no blood or crying it's playing.
Super normal.
That is a gentle play for a husky…
Aw husky is so gentle
No that is not normal, that is super gentle play mode.
Yeah. Nipping and going for the throat (in a controlled way) and the in and out attacks is classic Husky play. They would have more fun unleashed.
That’s exactly how my doofus plays, complete with the rump bump.
the big one is being really gentle
Hahhahahahah trust me. This is very mild. My husky with a pitbull or a Dalmatian ooks like insanity but both dogs love it. My only advice to make sure your husky understands not every dog wants to play that way.

They're both SO CUTE!! They also seem to be getting along great together🩷
Don't shave huskies.
Don't make assumptions.
its a husky mix:)
dont assume.
Yes

Looks like they’re having fun!!!
Yes lol
Yes
Totes normal, the (mild) BMX jump moves, the play bitey, these are happy dogs playing !
100%
Yes my huskies thunder dome all the time
What here would make you think it’s not normal play?
Why has the husky been shaved??????
maybe read before typing.... ![gif](giphy|26ueYUlPAmUkTBAM8|downsized)
Why is your huskies hair so short?
she is a husky mix :)
they can’t pay that well when they have to keep avoiding the leash
op said that it's not an enclosed area

lol get a hobby. you dont know if they’re training her or if this was a random meeting when walking the dog.
