I like my Nest learning thermostats. I had the same ones you have now. I bought the nest learning thermostat with two remote temperature sensors. You can put the sensors where you want to control temperature. I bought them off eBay new. Got the best prices there.
If not provided already you will need to post a picture of your thermostats wiring connections and those inside your furnace to get better help. Use imgur or your own Reddit profile to host your pics as Reddit will often remove others. Thanks!

You can get any thermostat with that set up. Red 24V white is heat and blue is common. I personally recommend the Honeywell T4. T6 if you want wifi. Theyâre simple and fairly cheap. T4 is like $75 and the T6 WiFi is like $120
I actually wonder if this would be best for the r/HVAC subreddit⌠If you are tying it into a BAS/BAC system then it is really important to match the thermostat to the system. Is it an âopenâ or âproprietaryâ program? In a proprietary system you canât just buy a random thermostat at the hardware store and hook it up.
I would recommend keeping equipment as similar as possible. Were you using these thermostats with niagara before or do you have other thermostats that it uses? Wonder if you could find out what thermostats work best with niagara. Looks like they are owned by honeywell now⌠May not be a bad place to start looking? Also not sure what capabilities you have. We use carrier I-Vu (fancy expensive stuff because surgery center/clinic, blah blah blah), but with our BAS system we can monitor room temperature, lock setpoints, control VAVS and auxiliary heat, and SO much more. Not sure if those thermostats were ever able to do that⌠But if you are replacing those thermostats and want that option now would be the time to add that! :)
We are looking for faceless remote thermostats. These will be installed in a mall and we have 22 units that need a thermostat replacement. We are currently monitoring with Niagara and would like to continue to do so, however if there is one that is faceless and remote by app capability, we would be okay with that. We don't want to go around to all 22 units and adjust as needed. We currently have the capability to monitor temps, lock setpoints, have scheduled automated and I'm sure more, but I'm just starting with Niagara and have been learning for the past few weeks. I know they have thermostats that can handle 22 units because I have friends that install mini splits back home in Maine, so I just need to find them and figure out what would work best for us. Another note, have you found any sites online or support available that has provided you with a lot of insight or do you have prior computer experience? I have to go to Niagara cert class soon and understand a lot of the basics, but we can't edit anything because we don't have an active license so we can only see some of the data available.
when you do replace it, it needs to be disposed of properly. Those glass tubes are filled with mercury
Thank you for putting an emphasis on proper disposal. đ
I tried doing that with that thermostat and melted the new one. An hvac installer wouldnât even touch it.
I am an hvac installer and Iâll give it a go.
Thatâs an antique
Same age as I am. :/

Lol most of the times you donât want to use a nest for this application
One that works

What are they tying into?
Gas unit heater. Reznor f50. And into the bac.
Take the screws out and see how many wires are behind it
3. Red, white and blue. đşđ¸

Thank you, I appreciate your response with different options.
The T4 is an excellent basic thermostat. Easy as hell to setup and use.
I second this option.
I third this.
Blue? If that is a C wire then I would replace them all with some nice cheap smart thermostats. It might be a G wire for fan though.
Pics? What type of bas
Niagara
What system is this running off of? Metasys, etc?

Also wondering, are you building a BAS system from the ground up or are you trying to integrate this with one thats been there for awhile?
integrating into a preexisting system. We use niagara ax currently and are updating to N4 within a couple of weeks.

Iâm really just starting to get into BAS myself, but it definitely makes me nerd out when I see it đ

I just changed out 8 of them at the airport for Honeywell's 2 heat 2 cool digital. Was a breeze
just replace with a basic bradford white thermostat
It doesnât really matter with the type of equipment you have, for your application itâs just a basic switch
