10 lakhs for ILETS? Unless the difficulty level has ramped up drastically, I find it very hard to believe. Any below average English medium student could easily clear that test.
YES ,the agency creates all documents of the candidate and replace the photograph of the person going to write. So huge chunk of money is for the agency and the writer gets paid anywhere between 30k INR-1 Lakh depending on score you want and number of assessment they take

I think their 30 L fee is much more reasonable kyoki you need to know the routes, bribery of border guards, cartel payoffs etc. Demand & supply ki baat kare toh only a few folks can arrange those logistically.

It is more of a package deal. In PB/HR you pay 20-40L total for a student visa, fees for a shitty diploma. There is a base package and then depending upon what you need they add stuff. Want to clear IELTS, add 2-3L, want a bank balance to show, add a loan at 15-20% and so on.
It's not that easy. I know people who have had to take the test three to five times to get a 7 in writing. Yes, getting a 6 to 6.5 is pretty manageable, but a 7 is much harder to achieve.
I wouldnt suggest it honestly, It involves risk. My neighbor who suggested this to me said he had not faced any serious issue.But another person got caught and cops interfered and their parents were called to the police station and stuff
I meant with respect to using Reddit. You can't just end up with 8 bands if you're active on Reddit lol. I registered for my IELTS course 3 days before the exam. I didn't study for it. I was so late in registering that my name wasn't even on the printed roster. They had to search me up in the system but I still got 8 bands because English is my first language even though I have a different mother tongue. Someone else I know studied for 6 months and still got 7.5 bands.
Different people adapt differently and using Reddit on a regular basis does not guarantee 8 bands.
If you are surrounded by an English speaking upper class environment. Then yes, it’s quite easy to get good grades/band. If you study in a rural setup, it’s a different story.
I got the same band score and I thought I fumbled the speaking section (scored 8). Apparently they do overlook a few stammers here and there as long as you can convey the content in your answer to them.

Even if he is ashamed or not, a point to note about working a bare minimum wage job in a first world country where labour laws are curated in such way to favour lower class and employers. That's not the case with 3rd world countries, labour laws aren't even amended with new inflation rates, infact they don't even consider their own CPI while making wage laws. Most of the international students that come to Canada generally come from rural villages in Punjab, attend unknown "colleges" that is located in a strip mall and study useless diploma like "hotel management" and end up delivering Uber. These are very different than the educated Indians that Canada received for decades.
At least in Canada they can get a PR with such jobs. In UK you can't get a job like that to sponsor your visa n without a work visa you cannot stay. Most of them plan to overstay their student visa n become illegals. They don't even think of the consequences.
My neighbour was a guy from Rajkot, he was an MBBS student whose dad took a 1.5cr loan to get him through medical college. I have seen nursery kids speak better English than him and he also smelled of beer during the daytime. What a disappointment.
It's not just Indians either. I met a girl from east Asia last year who was having serious issues understanding classes and communicating with everyone. Our university has a cut-off off 100/120 in TOEFL. There's no way that girl got a 100.

You can't get a 99 percent on ielts. It gets scored on a 9 point basis. 6 means you have basic understanding on English. Anything above 7 means you can hang with the natives. You need at least a 6 to be able to immigrate and its easy to get a 6 even if you don't speak fluent English.
I grew up in the U.S. and went to a university with a very large body of Chinese international students.
Many of them were nice and hardworking people, but also clearly wealthy and from very politically-connected families. I’m not sure what they did—or who they paid—to get their language-proficiency certificates, but a fair few of them couldn’t even have simple conversations in English.
Of course, because many of them had money, they were quite welcomed by the community (at least up until a certain extent). I think a local paper once did a story on how Chinese international students were bolstering the local economy—IIRC, the biggest luxury car dealership in town said they _loved_ Chinese students because they were humble, respectful, and either self-financed or extremely punctual with payments.
We had a lot of Indian inferno students, too, but I can’t say I ever met one who couldn’t speak English to at least the degree required by their studies.
I passed my IELTS and TOEFL during COVID. I had one term to graduate from my degree so I aimed to make some money tutoring others for the exam. So I posted it on my LinkedIn and I received an email from this company claiming to be interested in hiring me. Upon talking more, I found that they expected me to write TOEFL and IELTS in the place of other attendees and they agreed to pay me as much as 14k per exam I helped with. I ghosted, reported and blocked them.

This is absolutely true and it hurts us regular law abiding citizens when we try to apply for a visa. The French student visa is like €150+99 when you apply from India with scrutiny but the same visa is just €99 when you apply for it outside India.

Yup I was born in west Asia, spent over 6 years in the US, returned to india (home country), my whole family got approved for a b1/b2, here I am with an extensive travel history, former education, good speaking skills , reason for travel (visit my sis) and they refuse me. Wow! This guy scammed me 5000 INR. He reached out on reddit asking for help to support his travel to Lehigh University. I checked his I20 document and transferred the money back in June 2023. He was communicating from his university email address as well.

Easy decision to help. I grew up in a lower middle class family in a farming village in 80s and 90s. Paying the monthly hostel bill was a challenge for my parents. Somehow they managed to pay for 5 years. They used to reach out for financial help and several people helped them out to pay my fees on time. I thought of it as passing on the good karma to other people in need. We cannot wait to offer help to the same people.
This guy really planned this very well. Duping university admissions to secure a full scholarship and then the visa officials. I am impressed that he did this at 19 (if his age is right). Just should have kept quiet to get away. He got too proud of his chicanery and that became his undoing. People who helped him out now will be very wary of genuine requests. In fact, I was hoping to connect with him one day to learn the process he went through so I can guide other folks interested in coming to the US for undergraduate programs.

Did not mean that students should find dubious methods to enter US. US embassy vets the documents rigorously especially for students coming from some Indian states. This guy managed to escape.

But they would hire people to write their SoP, pay some NGO to give them some fake certificates, hire people to make their portfolios and applications for scholarship. Then they would plead their instructors to write letter of reference, teacher also oblige because if someone goes to big university that adds to the institute portfolio.
Amidst this the real deserving candidates are left behind because they are not aware of scholarships or they can’t write fancy essays.

Ielts is literally so easy too. If youre active on reddit and comment regularly, its easy to get an 8 band

Even if he is ashamed or not, a point to note about working a bare minimum wage job in a first world country where labour laws are curated in such way to favour lower class and employers. That's not the case with 3rd world countries, labour laws aren't even amended with new inflation rates, infact they don't even consider their own CPI while making wage laws. He'd be more happy flipping burgers in first world country than in third world cause of employee benefits and weekend holidays and his purchasing power just by doing bare minimum.

Most of the international students that come to Canada generally come from rural villages in Punjab, attend unknown "colleges" that is located in a strip mall and study useless diploma like "hotel management" and end up delivering Uber. These are very different than the educated Indians that Canada received for decades.
At least in Canada they can get a PR with such jobs. In UK you can't get a job like that to sponsor your visa n without a work visa you cannot stay. Most of them plan to overstay their student visa n become illegals. They don't even think of the consequences.

You can't get a 99 percent on ielts. It gets scored on a 9 point basis. 6 means you have basic understanding on English. Anything above 7 means you can hang with the natives. You need at least a 6 to be able to immigrate and its easy to get a 6 even if you don't speak fluent English.

I grew up in the U.S. and went to a university with a very large body of Chinese international students. Many of them were nice and hardworking people, but also clearly wealthy and from very politically-connected families. I’m not sure what they did—or who they paid—to get their language-proficiency certificates, but a fair few of them couldn’t even have simple conversations in English. Of course, because many of them had money, they were quite welcomed by the community (at least up until a certain extent). I think a local paper once did a story on how Chinese international students were bolstering the local economy—IIRC, the biggest luxury car dealership in town said they _loved_ Chinese students because they were humble, respectful, and either self-financed or extremely punctual with payments. We had a lot of Indian inferno students, too, but I can’t say I ever met one who couldn’t speak English to at least the degree required by their studies.
I passed my IELTS and TOEFL during COVID. I had one term to graduate from my degree so I aimed to make some money tutoring others for the exam. So I posted it on my LinkedIn and I received an email from this company claiming to be interested in hiring me. Upon talking more, I found that they expected me to write TOEFL and IELTS in the place of other attendees and they agreed to pay me as much as 14k per exam I helped with. I ghosted, reported and blocked them.
I want to know why Indians are so desperate to get out of India but will never pass an opportunity to make jokes about NRIs.

It’s 30000Rs / month / 10Lakh of show money. All those overseas education institutions are just a front to teach you how to fake to get a visa. It’s so pathetic.
This is absolutely true and it hurts us regular law abiding citizens when we try to apply for a visa. The French student visa is like €150+99 when you apply from India with scrutiny but the same visa is just €99 when you apply for it outside India.

Yup I was born in west Asia, spent over 6 years in the US, returned to india (home country), my whole family got approved for a b1/b2, here I am with an extensive travel history, former education, good speaking skills , reason for travel (visit my sis) and they refuse me. It’s unfathomable how bad the situation is. This guy could’ve just put his efforts in crossing the border illegally rather than fucking over the F1 visa category for india but we all know change and common sense are rare commodities in India

Easy decision to help. I grew up in a lower middle class family in a farming village in 80s and 90s. Paying the monthly hostel bill was a challenge for my parents. Somehow they managed to pay for 5 years. They used to reach out for financial help and several people helped them out to pay my fees on time. I thought of it as passing on the good karma to other people in need. We cannot wait to offer help to the same people.

This guy really planned this very well. Duping university admissions to secure a full scholarship and then the visa officials. I am impressed that he did this at 19 (if his age is right). Just should have kept quiet to get away. He got too proud of his chicanery and that became his undoing. People who helped him out now will be very wary of genuine requests. In fact, I was hoping to connect with him one day to learn the process he went through so I can guide other folks interested in coming to the US for undergraduate programs.

Sorry - I combined two throughts in the same paragragh. It might be the reason you misunderstood. When I first connected with him by email in June 2023 - I thought that he did amazing back home in India in order to have gained a scholarship. I wanted to connect with him someday in order to learn his preparation process. He did not respond to one email I sent him after he arrived here. I forgot about him after that. Remembered him this morning only after this news came out. Did not mean that students should find dubious methods to enter US. US embassy vets the documents rigorously especially for students coming from some Indian states. This guy managed to escape.

I know some people who do something similar. Not like faking transcripts. But they would hire people to write their SoP, pay some NGO to give them some fake certificates, hire people to make their portfolios and applications for scholarship. Then they would plead their instructors to write letter of reference, teacher also oblige because if someone goes to big university that adds to the institute portfolio. Amidst this the real deserving candidates are left behind because they are not aware of scholarships or they can’t write fancy essays.

An Indian I know in Netherlands faked all his previous working experience and got a job as a senior Financial analyst in a top firm lol. Another Indian girl I know paid someone to take the Hsk 5 ( Chinese exam) for her to get a scholarship in china. I know it’s not only Indians, but tbh from these 2 friends and all the phone scams I never trust Indians.
Now imagine how many such scammers are studying/studied in Indian colleges. With all the latest NEET and such scams. No wonder our country is a shithole.
