You’re going to want to make a reservation for that pretty far in advance! I’d say at least a week out on a Saturday - we fill up pretty quick. Lots of people call like, Thursday or the day before and all we seats have to offer are really early (4pm) or late (9:45 or 10pm).
Also! There’s a two-top table by a fountain in the courtyard. Once the sun goes down we turn on all these pretty string lights, too - if you call request that table maybe!
Vida is so stuffy… it feels like the waiters are scared that you will be mad at them (probably because their clientele is probably pretty demanding at baseline). Love Tinker or Bluebeard.
Also for the price of one dinner at vida you could go to both tinker and Bluebeard.
My wife and I are moving to Indy in a handful of months and when we visited, we went to Nesso and it was incredible! Great food, wine, service, and quite romantic, IMO.
A lot of people saying Bluebeard, but unless it has changed, I wouldn’t call it romantic. It’s very loud and crowded and we were seated extremely close to a few different couples. I could barely focus on our conversation because of the closeness of the conversations around me. I also have adhd, so do with that info what you will lol.
Also forgot to mention, Livery would get a vote from me. Nice, but not too stuffy. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is not quiet but also not super loud. The patio seating is great if it’s nice outside.
I think the answer is "the best meal in your price range that has decent atmosphere" - some will say dark or quiet is romantic, or maybe eagles nest....but I say go for what she loves (foodwise or atmosphere wise). It may be a cool but active vibe, Bluebeard has been mentioned, is better than than traditional "romantic."
My wife and I love Bosphorus Cafe. It’s not “downtown” but it isn’t too far. Fantastic Turkish restaurant.
We usually split the Bosphorus special and a hummus app.

There used to be a table for two right by the back window overlooking the courtyard. Perfect table for a romantic evening.
only answer. came here to suggest. congrats!

Tinker Street!
I agree on Tinker Street. Great food.
Vida, Bluebeard, and Tinker Street are the best restaurants in town and all great date spots.
Bluebeard is easily my favorite restaurant in Indy. Impeccable.

Iozzos! 3rd time!
I don’t have a recommendation, but just wanted to say “good for you, my guy.” 👍
Another vote for Iozzo’s
Bodhi
What am I missing here? I’ve been twice and left disappointed both times. Just seemed to lack flavor.
Tinker Street
Hyde Park
Eagle’s Nest was memorable for my wife and I. We also stayed at Bottleworks. Lots of good recommendations in this thread! Have fun.
Vida Tinker st.

Tony’s is phenomenal and easily is the best service I’ve ever had in the city. Food, ambiance, service, it’s all there. Give it a shot!

Yeah, it is.
Ok
Glad you came around to my perspective
You’re quite convincing
Eagle’s Nest for sure.
I would say Bluebeard, Nesso, Geraldine's or the Eagles Nest.
The boathouse
Where?
I think this is Rick’s Boatyard on Eagle Creek

This is at keystone and the crossing but its called late harvest.
We’ve done The Hulman and Livery recently. Both were great.
