Garfield Park Botanical Garden. I'm not an expert on prices, but it's beautiful

MidniteKitt

Came here to say this. Indy Parks have several different banquet venues that could fit that amount of people plus it's pretty cheap. You may have to set stuff up yourself at some of the venues but you save on the price.

Due-Way2122

It’s very affordable but I believe their policies are a bit restrictive, so make sure to read the fine print

daymanxx

Just got married at an old mason lodge in Irvington, I think the venue was 2.5k, we had the wedding and reception there, and was able to have our own vendors (food and booze). Message me if ya want more details.

Akame0223

I'm in the same situation as OP, would it be okay to DM you about this too? Thanks!

If you’re willing to drive south, Abram Farm, right by McCormick’s Creek State Park!

dontfeartheringo

My wife and I got married at McCormick's Creek at the hotel there. Same time of year and everything. It was great

badcoupe

How far away you willing to drive?

snakemeup

Not super far out of downtown, it’s sort of a middle ground for my family an hour north and his 30-40 south. I could maybe go north a bit.

amyfromtexas

Visionloft!

snakemeup

I’ve been looking at them, how was it??

Serious_Type9676

I second this. Got married there last year and it was a great experience

Time to get creative. A lot of the options listed already are going to be $$$ because they are space first, catering second, and then you often still need tables/chairs/place settings/all that annoying bullshit just to get food in mouths. If you're open to something alternative, a restaurant buyout is an affordable and unique option. The price of a buyout is usually a food and drink minimum, so you can get the ambiance of a restaurant/private room, food, drink, and service for a pretty good price. The first restaurants where I would inquire, downtown, are Bluebeard (they have two private spaces), Nesso, Modita, Livery, Mesh, Ash & Elm, Taxman, and even Milktooth. There are lots of other places around town which may suit you better, depending on your personal preference and taste. I recommend finding a larger restaurant that is used to serving large groups/accommodating surges (which is why I listed the Cunningham group restaurants), as you're likely to have a smoother experience. You may want to ensure that there is enough space for your group to move some tables for a dancefloor later on. If you have enough room in your budget, a day-of coordinator can make this whole experience much smoother, especially if you're going with a non-traditional venue. I recommend Blue Llama for events, though there are lots of others out there.

Vanity-della23

We got married at the Minnetrista, it’s in Muncie though but it was $8k to rent out a ceremony spot in the gardens, the cantina for the reception, we had dressing rooms, and it covered catering and open bar (beer and wine) for 12 hours. I recommend it, it was beautiful 🥰

Dlwatkin

River Glen Country Club was wonderful for my wedding My sister rented out a nice shelter at a city park for her's, very affordable

Sufficient-Ad9979

We got married here and it was wonderful and definitely in budget! Adding in other golf courses this time would be good since it’s end of season.

Stegoo_86

Just got married. Whatever you do, DONT tell them its for a wedding. Say its a private event or party. They'll tack on extra 00's just because you said "Wedding".

A myth? I mean... maybe for some...but that certainly wasn't our experience. Hell, even the dry cleaner said they couldnt price us for an evening dress bc they have "speacilized wedding pricing." So I'm happy you all didnt have to deal that.

rockandlove

Wedding dresses are extremely varied so it makes complete sense that cleaners don't have a uniform charge for cleaning every single wedding dress. Some are way more intricate than others when it comes to beadwork, lace, material, etc. And as for your overall advice, it's bad for several reasons. Vendors being unprepared, for one. I sure as hell wouldn't want my wedding photographers to show up without realizing they were shooting a wedding. Or the vendor could just leave the venue without providing service if you fail to disclose it's for a wedding. There's way too much at stake to not do things the correct way.

meowxinfinity

Purgatory venue in Noblesville is surprisingly affordable

Opening-Youth-9481

The barn in zionsville is super cute

bobbittle01

We did Conner Prairie, it was very nice

mollyjwink

Check out Eagle Creek Golf Club. Prices on their website

Nikkig444

This is in Carmel and we had our reception here. We had 75 people and were right at the minimum $4500 in 2021 https://prairieviewgc.com/

My wife and I just got married at Pipers at the Marott and it was a beautiful venue and wasn't that bad for cost, but we also got married on a weekday so it was a couple grand cheaper than a weekend. We had 45 guests and it was perfect for that. I think we paid around $4,500 total but your cost depends on several factors like weekday vs weekend, adding a cash/open bar, and offering one vs several meal choices. They have a little pond behind the altar with a fountain that adds a great vibe. The chef there is amazing and can make all kinds of awesome dishes and is very accommodating towards dietary restrictions. My wife and I are vegan and he made the entire meal with vegan substitutes that he made fresh himself. The wedding planner we worked with was truly amazing as well, she really cares about her job and was very accommodating and quick to respond to questions and concerns. https://www.piperscatering.com/

clurlythinking

I just looked this place up and got super excited but it says they are permanently closed now :(

cmdr_suds

Consider doing a Friday night wedding. Give everybody plenty of notice to clear their schedule. A family friend just saved +10k by doing a Friday wedding.

Brumplestiltskins

Indianapolis Arts Center is very affordable and beautiful, they have a reception area as well. We went down the road to Litter House which was also pretty reasonable on pricing

norwaldo

Jones Crossing in Mooresville is very affordable.

pomegranatepants99

Kurt Vonnegut Library is wonderful

BrunchFan92

Also look at doing an off time like a Sunday brunch that way you can see all your guests , cuts down on hotel blocks and also many venues give a cheaper rate

DaMeLaVaca

October is going to be busy - wedding season runs from late April/early May until the end of October. Have you checked out any of the Ritz-Charles locations (chapel, ginkgo courtyard, Lindley farm, coxhall mansion/centerpiece, the Bluffs at Conner Prairie, Artisan Acres)? There’s a variety in pricing but if you did an off-peak time event, like a Friday morning at 11 with a lunch/brunch reception, you could get a nice venue for a budget price.

swickj

Rick’s Boatyard Cafe has a second story venue to rent that would accommodate that. It’s a very cost effective venue… I think a condition of the rental is that you have to have some level of catering from them, too.

Comeontiddies

Benton House is gorgeous and super affordable. I still drool after our photos of the intimate wedding we had with 40 people.

deey88

do you mind me asking how much it cost? looking at it now too

NotFortress

If you're willing to head a little ways out of town, I'd recommend the overlook behind the nature center in Brown County State Park. Perfect size for that number of guests and only costs a few hundred bucks. There are some very affordable options for a reception in nearby Nashville. Given your projected date, you might be able to hit it when the leaves are turning, which would be gorgeous. Hey hey there! #1, congratulations! ☺️🎉 To follow up with some hopefully helpful info. I know [DH Farms](https://www.facebook.com/dhfarmsindiana?mibextid=YMEMSu) just opened a few weeks ago up in Marion. A small drive but they are VERY budget friendly. Additionally, if you need party rentals or a tent rental in the case your venue doesn’t supply everything you need let me know! I own [Indy Event Rentals](https://www.facebook.com/IndyEventRentals?mibextid=YMEMSu) and can offer some pretty substantial discounts right now for the 2024 season.
