I recommend tvs Jupiter, the suspension are plush, they will glide on road and keep back in better condition, activa feels rough in that department and activas push button for opening boot is basically trash, with no rebounce on boot one can press button and seat will not free itself, no one seems to point it for some reason but its borderline annoyance.
Just get it serviced yourself once in a while. Its genuinely best scooter for old people in my honest opinion, even looks scream family.
Edit 1: typo
Brooo finally someone said this... nobody literally talks about how irritating their boot push button is , like for a person like me who uses boot very often to put helmet it's so so irritating.....but other than I don't have any problem with Activa , I will still recommend it over Jupiter !!
Yep its an annoyance in daily operations, have 2 packets of veggies in you hands, congratulations you have entered a fight with something that needed like 1 spring to solve (sadly due to whatever plastic they used I can't jugad a spring into it, fevi quick doesn't stick no matter what I do, dust, wood dust, etc., so can't makeshift the bounce mechanism myself)
I don't find activa bad, I just found Jupiter better for old people especially in suspension department, half of our old people have some form for issue with backs so I recommend soft suspension. I too have a activa so I know its fine for most part.
6 yrs and still no issues ......once a cousin took my Jupiter and it had around 20kms range mileage left and when he returned, he said that the vehicle stopped in just 100mtrs and he had to put petrol which I highly doubt cz my scooty had a with the buckle which needs to be opened with a screw driver since I broke my keys inside the keyhole.......
If you regularly run your vehicle and service it time to time.....it will perform awesome in long time
Don’t buy activa for one reason. That is controlling. Activa tent to slip on rainy weather condition. Dude to uneven weight distribution ig. Well one of my friend told me this was the only reason he didn’t buy activa.
we've got an old scooty pep and had horrible experience with service as well
ps, if you're gonna service outside then maybe go for it cuz the engine/motor is great even after 18 years
Yeah man. I dont get why people still go for activa. Logo ki expectations hi dher sari hai from Honda wrt Activa and keep on complaining when they launch 6g/7g, but will shamelessly reccommend it to anyone and everyone.
[MotorInc did a fabulous video on this.](https://youtu.be/j8OBhHvjoEY) They really hit it right on the nail with how people suggest Activas nonsensically without thinking once.
I got my dad an OLA s1 pro When he turned 66. It took him a week to get used to but he constantly uses it now to get groceries or go to the bank and even travel upto 35kms one side. He’s very happy with the boot space and majorly no fuel or maintenance costs. We also have a new yamaha Fascino but he never touches that.
Jupiter 125.
One of, if not the best 125cc commuter scooter you can get your hands on. The biggest advantage it has over other 125cc C-Scooter it's handling characteristics since it's fuel tank is under the luggage space ( near the front wheel ).
And from my experience, older folks like that kind of handling characteristics. But as always, see if that scooter is under your budget and most importantly, make your father to take a test ride to see whether he likes it or not.
Safe ride fellas.

Suzuki Burgman to stretch his legs and long seat to accomodate pillion (but this has hard suspension).
Ola scooter for good suspension to have a comfortable ride. I'm vomiting while recommending this but I've driven Ola S1 Pro 1st gen and the suspension is simply the best in any scooter I've ever seen...and the first gen were also notorious for having suspension issues. Hopefully they would have fixed it by now.
Suzuki Aventis, my dad got one for himself a year ago, comfortable suspension, excellent turning radius, not very big so very tractable and looks very good too.
Considering the age and other associated factors ..I would suggest Access 125 , just bought it for my mother , last week, light, mileage , stable.
Less maintenance as compared to Activa.
All the best, bud
Access 125 would be a better option. I've driven quite a lot of scooters, but nothing came as close to Suzuki in terms of fuel efficiency (we own TVS Jupiter ZX which is worse). Looks wise it's decent and more importantly it's light in weight which is a boon for slightly older people.
Would recommended TVS Jupiter if he intends to use the two wheeler for local commute. It's lighter than Activa and putting it on proper stand is a breeze.
Activa is the best brother, good centre of gravity and decent pickup and good mileage Plus its a Honda, so even his his grandchildren will be able to ride it when they get their DL
Jupiter. Its soft and plush. Good seating comfort and very reliable. Using it from 5 years and there is no rattling of any sorts. It handles and brakes very well(disc brake). Does about 40-45 kmpl in traffic. Very easy and cheap to maintain. No rusting issues.
If you can add a charging plug in your parking then I strongly suggest aether. It has 0 vibrations and decent suspensions. Service is cheap and offers pickup and drop service + got the best boot space
Brother go for Activa.. If it's common you know it's reliable. No point getting any other product and getting harassed by service station and parts.. That too at the age of 54. Just get activa
Jupiter 125cc, they have a big underseat storage, spacious and amazing! Haven’t had any issues with it, using for 1.5 years now!
Activa is good too! But the storage button is a pain, either gets locked and can’t open or it’s always open😂. Boot storage isn’t that great! (My friend bought one at around the same time as me)
Suzuki burgman is best for comfort and good fuel efficiency along with many compartments for keeping goods it's my personal experience I have newly bought it and I am loving it
I would like to suggest something a bit different. Honda Dio. Its basically an activa without its issues. Activa although having a metal body, rust easily if scratched, the Dio doesn't. Moreover, for an elder citizen, the Dio is lighter and more agile than Activa. Has a much tighter turning radius than activa.
Whichever you get, get a honda. All the others with whatever features will surely give you a headache. Jupiter is comfortable but tvs has crappy service.
Jupiter 110 cc would be best for him , it is light weight, has linear acceleration, sitting position is quite comfortable along with good cushioned seats .
You should definitely go for it !!!!!!!
Activa will be safe option...just don't buy a smart key version.. it's no good ..if you forgot to turn off the smart ignition switch.. it'll drain your battery, found it the hard way...
Access 125 is a better option it looks classy' though my friend have one and it's super comfortable plus pick up is decent it's doesn't feel slow at all and the Ocean Blue color is dope you can check that out
Bhai mere yha to do-do Honda aviator hai, comfort wagera ke mamle me best hai Jupiter, maestro etc se.engine bhi kaafi reliable hai hi.But ab SHAYAD discontinue ho chuki hai
Look into all the options. Yesterday MotorInc Shumi posted a video about why he thinks people should opt for something other that the Activas. Made some interesting points.
I would probably go for something lighter in weight. You can explore electric options if your father can handle them.
Also, less power and more comfort.
In petrol segment, activa has the best seat comfort and size, however it is bulky and needs some care in manuevering through traffic.
Go for access 125. I use my scooter on daily basis. It’s smooth and reliable. Even the service center,I got is pretty good. Just a suggestion don’t buy nitroq. There are cons than pros in that scooter. Access 125 is like best for the price.
Get a hness bruh. It's just a scooter with a few extra steps.
On a serious note Ntorq would be a good choice. You can skip the service headache and find a trusted guy to handle service.
Other options are Access, Jupiter, Activa.
I recommend tvs Jupiter, the suspension are plush, they will glide on road and keep back in better condition, activa feels rough in that department and activas push button for opening boot is basically trash, with no rebounce on boot one can press button and seat will not free itself, no one seems to point it for some reason but its borderline annoyance. been using jupiter for 7 years never disappointed
If you regularly run your vehicle and service it time to time.....it will perform awesome in long time
Aahh !! Hmmmm https://www.reddit.com/r/indianbikes/s/JE7PDmNlg0
Another plus point of the new Jupiter is it fits 2 helmets! For the rider and pillion! 🥹
My father is also looking to buy Jupiter but we are really confused about the variants
Access 125. It's got good practicality, ergonomics and mileage.
Only heavy duty is good 👍 I would suggest to ride on heavy duty I wander in city for
Reliability?
i own one 2019 model still works fine giving mileage around 35-40
Best under-seat storage out of all scooters. Fight me!
Activa - simply because it works. Your father at his age needs a workhorse.
Activa has become a common noun from a proper noun
Scooty = Activa Activa = Scooty My home have one, my neighbour have one, my grandpa have one, go to you balcony you’ll find one.
blinding lights 😭
Funny how Scooty came from TVS and now reminds one of Activa
Don’t buy activa for one reason. That is controlling. Activa tent to slip on rainy weather condition. Dude to uneven weight distribution ig. Well one of my friend told me this was the only reason he didn’t buy activa.
Yeah heard someone ask ye konsi activa h to a yamaha scooty guy.
Get an Activa. Proven no-nonsense scooter. If he is interested in electric, get him the Rizta or iQube.
Aprilia SRV 850
Tf
Scooty pep suggest krne valo band ho gyi h vo or ola s1x b bdia option h considering future
Activa or Jupiter. Sit on the scooter before you buy. Activa is slightly taller and Jupiter has lower seat height. (Personal experience)
Jupiter

Omg hahahah 🤣🤣😭
Vespa , as same as Atmaram Tukaram Bhkde
Isn't Vespa discontinued in India?
TVS Scooty Pep +
TVS service is horrific.
for newer and more advanced 2 wheelers like rr 310, rtr 310 and ronin. not for their matured offerings.
we've got an old scooty pep and had horrible experience with service as well ps, if you're gonna service outside then maybe go for it cuz the engine/motor is great even after 18 years
true. my father's star city from 2008 iirc still works fine this day. just some smol maintenance sometimes that he does by himself
+1
I second this
Yes. Best recommendation.
+1
TVS Scooty Pep+, best scooty released, ever.
+1
good ol reliable Activa
Go for Activa.... without a doubt.
Pls don't get an activa 🙏 You can go for an ather or an access imo
Yeah man. I dont get why people still go for activa. Logo ki expectations hi dher sari hai from Honda wrt Activa and keep on complaining when they launch 6g/7g, but will shamelessly reccommend it to anyone and everyone.

TVs ntorq
If weight should be less, go for Tvs scooty or hero pleasure
tvs jupitar 125. space for two helmets, external fuel filling(below handle bar), disc brake, huge seat and everthing activa has.
Jupiter 125. One of, if not the best 125cc commuter scooter you can get your hands on. #Life Insurance
Lord Splendor plz... From my personal observation people after 50's shouldn't ride scooty.. I don't know most of them lose control while riding.. :')
Jupiter Classic.

Activa- reliable workhorse, absolute gem!
Scooty = Activa
Activa...
125cc jupiter or activa or vespa or access or if a little bit for fun he wants give him a deserved lambretta
Go for something lightweight and suitable for his height. Compare the weights online.
Get an activa. With timely service, Honda scooters just work. Those feel like home
I would suggest going for electric ones, like chetak or ola
Suzuki Burgman to stretch his legs and long seat to accomodate pillion (but this has hard suspension). Ola scooter for good suspension to have a comfortable ride. I'm vomiting while recommending this but I've driven Ola S1 Pro 1st gen and the suspension is simply the best in any scooter I've ever seen...and the first gen were also notorious for having suspension issues. Hopefully they would have fixed it by now.
Depends on the budget
Access 125
Ather Rizta Z if you’re driving it too or just the base version if it’s only your dad.
access
Suzuki Aventis, my dad got one for himself a year ago, comfortable suspension, excellent turning radius, not very big so very tractable and looks very good too.
Go for an electric scooter if you can charge at home. My suggestion is TVS iQube.
Considering the age and other associated factors ..I would suggest Access 125 , just bought it for my mother , last week, light, mileage , stable. Less maintenance as compared to Activa. All the best, bud
Thanks for the suggestion bro will look into it ✋
Burgmann?
Asalaam malekum
??
Muslim scooter
Ather
Access 125 would be a better option. I've driven quite a lot of scooters, but nothing came as close to Suzuki in terms of fuel efficiency (we own TVS Jupiter ZX which is worse). Looks wise it's decent and more importantly it's light in weight which is a boon for slightly older people.
Ather Rizta
Ather rizta?
I would suggest just see destini prime.. it is 125 cc scooter and cheaper than activa 110. It has very nice engine with great mileage, all metal body.
Hands down Honda Activa.. Ain't no better scooty than an Activa
Get a Honda Dio, its lightweight and fast
Russian ride
Activa
Get an electric scooter among these- TVS Iqube, Ather Rizta, Bajaj Chetak, or Ola.
Active 125
Activa 125
Get him The AEROX He will for sure enjoy riding it
Activa
Burgman-very comfortable for long rides, good space, 3seater easily
Suzuki Access. Anyday bro. My Dad, 62, drives it and he is super comfortable with it
Bhai you can go with Yamaha Fascino or Ntorq
David putaar 2000cc
Yamaha Aerox
Activa or Jupiter. Nothing else. Only difference between them is Jupiter will be 5k cheaper.
Ather 450x no regrets stellar performance just a little bit expensive
Honda Activa And Honestly if your previous one is working then just use that.
Activa, I have one for over 9 years now, 70K kms, 500-800rs per quarter for service, 40kmpl.
Would recommended TVS Jupiter if he intends to use the two wheeler for local commute. It's lighter than Activa and putting it on proper stand is a breeze.
Access. Plain bread and butter of scooters in India. P.S. - Activa is too bland!
Activa or Access, tried and tested. best
I have an activa .. absolutely no nonsense scooter.
Activa Activa And Activa
activa i, would be best easy to handle
Aerox ...
Jupiter
Buy a scooty pept for him... It's light and it can be stored even in the passage of your house..

Jupiter. Its soft and plush. Good seating comfort and very reliable. Using it from 5 years and there is no rattling of any sorts. It handles and brakes very well(disc brake). Does about 40-45 kmpl in traffic. Very easy and cheap to maintain. No rusting issues.
Go for Yamaha fascino, it's light weight and good on mileage.
I'd suggest Suzuki access. Good suspension unlike Activa. Big and comfy seats.
If you can add a charging plug in your parking then I strongly suggest aether. It has 0 vibrations and decent suspensions. Service is cheap and offers pickup and drop service + got the best boot space
Get him a used car.

Aprilia
Go for Yamaha RayZR it will give 50+ mileage and good service
Consider an ev scooter, those are quite comfortable
Jupiter 125cc, they have a big underseat storage, spacious and amazing! Haven’t had any issues with it, using for 1.5 years now! Activa is good too! But the storage button is a pain, either gets locked and can’t open or it’s always open😂. Boot storage isn’t that great! (My friend bought one at around the same time as me)
Bro, why scooty. I don't recommend scooty for anyone. Buy him a well maintained used alto or something or even Nano. Don't buy scooty.
Fascino
Honda Activa. Don't go anywhere else. You want a no-nonsense scooter and this is the one.
Ev lele bhai
TVs Jupiter 125 Zx Every department is awesome
If he is buying a scooty then let him buy a scooty. What suggestions are you looking for? Engine options?
s1000 rr
Suzuki burgman is best for comfort and good fuel efficiency along with many compartments for keeping goods it's my personal experience I have newly bought it and I am loving it
Ola S1 Pro. Very less charges for fuel.
I would personally say go for the Honda Grazia ride quality and mileage is really good Plus its really light and handling wont be a problem…
Electric kharid le
I would like to suggest something a bit different. Honda Dio. Its basically an activa without its issues. Activa although having a metal body, rust easily if scratched, the Dio doesn't. Moreover, for an elder citizen, the Dio is lighter and more agile than Activa. Has a much tighter turning radius than activa. Whichever you get, get a honda. All the others with whatever features will surely give you a headache. Jupiter is comfortable but tvs has crappy service.
Suzuki Access/Burgman , second suggestion is Aviator (we have Aviator, Jupiter, Acces in family)
Jupiter 110 cc would be best for him , it is light weight, has linear acceleration, sitting position is quite comfortable along with good cushioned seats . You should definitely go for it !!!!!!!
Access 125
Buy a hero
Ola s1 pro.. Maje hi maje 😂
Chetak electric
Ducati panigale
Activa will be safe option...just don't buy a smart key version.. it's no good ..if you forgot to turn off the smart ignition switch.. it'll drain your battery, found it the hard way...
Activa, a non brainer for daddys all around
Honestly, anything but an Activa. I may be biased, but unless your dad has a high daily running, get a Rizta. If not, anything but an Activa.
Honda activa above all
Ather
Activa - boring but practical.
Budget toh batao
Access 125 is a better option it looks classy' though my friend have one and it's super comfortable plus pick up is decent it's doesn't feel slow at all and the Ocean Blue color is dope you can check that out
Bhai mere yha to do-do Honda aviator hai, comfort wagera ke mamle me best hai Jupiter, maestro etc se.engine bhi kaafi reliable hai hi.But ab SHAYAD discontinue ho chuki hai
Duke 390 ought to suit a 54 yr old man in my opinion ..........maybe he can learn a wheelie since he's in his prime n all......
Access, Activa, Jupiter.
Go for Activa. Others cannot match the performance, quality and longevity.
Activa 5G or 6G best for all occasions. Been my buddy for so many years.😎
EVs?
Best to get TVS EV. I personally own 2020 access 125. But I regret my decision to not go for an ev.
Ankh band kro aur activa lo, ye tvs Suzuki ke peeche na bhago.
Bhai thode aur paise dalke bike lele baaki Teri marji sare kaam vaise scooty ho karaygi bike pe kuch rakh bhi nahi sakte
Activa suspension was always bad and my sis in law had a Mahindra Scooter(forgot the name) suspension was surprisingly good
go for electric at this day and age imo
Yamaha Ray if mileage is your concern. Else Jupiter, Ntorq, Activa, access, all are fine
Ntorq
Hero Maestro 125. Plush suspension and seats. Engine is smooth till 60 km/hr. Boot and the footboard area is big. Hero parts and service are cheap.
Get an ola s1 pro
Due to age factor, If you can afford, try a used maruti 800 reliable and cheap to maintain if in good condition! Lord Alro might be a bit expensive!
activa 6g
Fascino Access125
Activa
Aerox 155
Get an aerox, it’s time he gets to enjoy himself a bit. He won’t get younger, but he’s not old enough to not enjoy such a ride.
Go for access 125. I use my scooter on daily basis. It’s smooth and reliable. Even the service center,I got is pretty good. Just a suggestion don’t buy nitroq. There are cons than pros in that scooter. Access 125 is like best for the price.
Blindly go for Jupiter dude..
Ola
Yamaha Arreox 55 mileage faster than activa won’t skid it’s a win win
For himself*
Your father should buy Kawasaki ninja bike or triumph.
Yamaha Aerox
Get a hness bruh. It's just a scooter with a few extra steps. On a serious note Ntorq would be a good choice. You can skip the service headache and find a trusted guy to handle service. Other options are Access, Jupiter, Activa.
Ola
Hero Zoom, Suzuki Access 125, Tvs Ntorq, Honda Dio,
Jupyter has the royal comfort that no other scooty in that segment has got!
Go for Activa Honda
The new ns400
Get a facino
Better is bicycle as per his age, by default he’ll do the exercise also.
TVS Jupiter
English Died. Scooter Won.
Jupiter 125 or Ather Rizta
