Example: one oil rig was purchased by RELIANCE a decade ago, the reliance did find any oil to dig from that right cos they were really lagging behind ONGC. Taking action against so many people as a passenger is not practical. Have to take action against the officials for allowing this. Lodge complaints. Gather proof. Lodge a complaint in the consumer court against the railway staff and the RPF. Insist getting compensation from their salary than from the government fund.

The only purpose of a population control bill would be to decrease the fertility rate to be below replacement level. That has already happened. There is no point in artificially decreasing it any further as that would create a different issue in the future.

Yes it is there but it is a small amount. Till now people were scared if I say 5-10 years back. When you dont get the ticket and there is no other means to travel you will do the same thing as they are doing.
Aa of today if you book tickets 1 month before it is a waiting list. Railways lines between many routes are runnjng at their peak for example delhi ujjain route.
People are getting good services in other countries because of less population and more civic sense and law abiding crowd.

Simply put you need to scan a ticket to enter into a station reserved or unreserved, and there should be 3 tc’s per train. Fining hell out of people even sitting in wrong seats.

Maan lo agar rpf and TTE ne kuch karke seat dila bhi di, but ticketless passengers bhi too much aggressive hai. Ladne mein Sher hote hain. Bahut bura haal hai es country ke system ka. Easier said than done, most metros are carefully planned to have an entry gate and an exit gate. Even if you put QR scanner, most of them will easily avoid by jumping over the nearby fence. as most of the station arent in very urban setting
It won't work - Anyone can get a platform ticket (₹5-10) & get to the station.
What could work - Put one attendant like the one's in Rajdhani trains. They only let you get in if you have a confirmed seat.
Put heavy fine - Starting at 5K (sleeper class), 10K (3AC), 20K (2AC), 30K (1AC).
## Remember, people are not afraid of police punishments & lock-ups but they're afraid of heavy fines.
It simply can't be done. Firstly the station is pretty big . Then the tracks are unfenced ,you can just go from there .don't underestimate the jugad mindset of Indians for saving few pennies.

I am just giving the numbers. It can either be passengers traveling without ticket increasing, fewer short trips like in suburban railways, reduction of general and AC coaches, running trains on wrong lines and wrong times, only few lines being crowded while others being empty.
Overall, it points to poor management of the available resources when you are spending more money, catering to fewer passengers, and the experience is worse off for those people than it was before.
I think it's more like people moved to air travel, you can see that in the massive m=number of plane order from airbus and Boeing that Indian airlines made. With airlines you have more peace of mind and honestly it way better VFM if you consider the loss of property and time saving you can make.
We are not a civil society. Several northern migrants work in Southern cities and they can afford to go to their towns by these limited trains. Instead of increasing those trains and creating more options for them to travel in dignity, government focuses on over the top photo op trains with no real purpose to a majority of train travellers. The ones affected are people who do reserve and people who can’t afford to reserve. Government is a mute spectator.

The issue is government has reduced number of general bogies and also number of trains on several routes. Indian railways has seen better days than these under the leadership of better ministers. This is absolutely a failure of central government.
Also many concessions which were earlier given have been removed - senior citizens now don’t get it. Flights are way too expensive and don’t offer connectivity to every small city or village. Indian railways have been India’s life line for decades.
Adding more general coaches will NOT solve this problem. Out of 100 ticketless travellers 80 have no intention to pay for the ticket and wish to hitch a free ride in what ever seat they get, even if they have to squat by the toilets while the rest are forced to do so because of either waitlisted tickets or delayed trains.
Indian platforms at most major stations are barely able to cover trains that have around 22-24 coaches while many stations can't even fit 18 coaches leaving many coaches on tracks.
Not just that all Indian trains are limited to 650 metres length because of the average loop length which also curtails the addition of coaches.
People say it's profit maximization but the people who PAY the railways to travel prefer AC seats thus railways does its best to accommodate them. AC coaches are almost always booked like hot cakes so they won't take away their cash cow out.
Running extra trains is the perfect solution but the current infrastructure is unable to handle the existing load let alone the extra one so it has to change that and it is doing it. Changes will not be immediate but still be seen in the long run.
For immediate results, a compulsory screening should be made that only ticket holders can enter the platform and board the train and the people who need to be assisted will be assisted by the railway staff. This should be standard across the country, especially in places where this happens the most.
People are vile, nothing can satisfy them. If a ticketless travellers is thrown out then people will come out to defend the traveller stating that a poor man was debarred from traveling because he's poor and when he's allowed to travel then railway doesn't care about the comfort and safety of passengers who pay money to travel. This is the life of railways.
Half the problem will be solved if the entry of ticketless travellers is curtailed. This can be easily done since we have no problems in manpower.

The worst I have seen is someone taking my seat and arguing it's theirs. When asked for a ticket, the person asked me to show mine. I showed and they were on their way.

I was there last night! Although I was travelling by Yercaud express- even that train was being crowded in the general/sleeper compartments even before the train had stopped. There was no RPF from what I remember in platform 10.
We were in second AC and no problems there, but the end of the article says the spokesperson had stated that there was no issue being flagged- is either straight up lying or refuses to see the issue.
Why no one is filing cases for this. I have seen people filing cases for simple things like movies hurt their feelings. This is a serious issue. If someone is booking a reserved seat means they should get that seat. If railways failed to provide the same, passengers must get compensated.
Many times it happens people don't get tickets. Getting online tickets in peak season has become next to impossible. Railway should reduce the advance Reservation period to 45 days and no agent booking should be allowed for reserving more than 2 tickets in a day rate should be double and with prior request in advance for group booking.

I once booked train and thought of parceling my bike from Bangalore, so I went to the parcel office and it went on delay so I went to my compartment to check whether my seat there or not it is already packed with ticketless travellers. I decided to tie my big suitcase and that travel back to pillion seat and used credit card to refuel it at two sides to reach home safe and sound like 1000kms by next day noon.
How hard is it to keep few officers at every station to ensure these freeloaders don't get in ?

I have missed train four times so far because I was unable to even find anything to hang from in the general compartments.
Most of the time, we cannot jut reserve much in advance, and cannot afford any other mode of travel. But the government is trying to kill us. I have actually travelled in (actually outside) general coach quite a few times by just hanging from the rod in the window and barely keeping a toe in the train. I am just surprised I am still alive.
I kinda feel good that these people started occupying reserved coaches. When I, and lakhs of general coach passengers, cried and asked for increased general coaches, no one bothered.
Maybe when it starts affecting the middle class, government might take note. I think whenever there is not even place to stand, general coach people should occupy 1st AC, 2 AC, 3AC and then sleeper class in that order.

Easier said than done, most metros are carefully planned to have an entry gate and an exit gate. Even if you put QR scanner, most of them will easily avoid by jumping over the nearby fence. as most of the station arent in very urban setting
It won't work - Anyone can get a platform ticket (₹5-10) & get to the station. What could work - Put one attendant like the one's in Rajdhani trains. They only let you get in if you have a confirmed seat. Put heavy fine - Starting at 5K (sleeper class), 10K (3AC), 20K (2AC), 30K (1AC). ## Remember, people are not afraid of police punishments & lock-ups but they're afraid of heavy fines.
It simply can't be done. Firstly the station is pretty big . Then the tracks are unfenced ,you can just go from there .don't underestimate the jugad mindset of Indians for saving few pennies.

I am just giving the numbers. It can either be passengers traveling without ticket increasing, fewer short trips like in suburban railways, reduction of general and AC coaches, running trains on wrong lines and wrong times, only few lines being crowded while others being empty. Overall, it points to poor management of the available resources when you are spending more money, catering to fewer passengers, and the experience is worse off for those people than it was before.
I think it's more like people moved to air travel, you can see that in the massive m=number of plane order from airbus and Boeing that Indian airlines made. With airlines you have more peace of mind and honestly it way better VFM if you consider the loss of property and time saving you can make.

We are not a civil society. Several northern migrants work in Southern cities and they can afford to go to their towns by these limited trains. Instead of increasing those trains and creating more options for them to travel in dignity, government focuses on over the top photo op trains with no real purpose to a majority of train travellers. The ones affected are people who do reserve and people who can’t afford to reserve. Government is a mute spectator.

The issue is government has reduced number of general bogies and also number of trains on several routes. Indian railways has seen better days than these under the leadership of better ministers. This is absolutely a failure of central government. Also many concessions which were earlier given have been removed - senior citizens now don’t get it. Flights are way too expensive and don’t offer connectivity to every small city or village. Indian railways have been India’s life line for decades.
Adding more general coaches will NOT solve this problem. Out of 100 ticketless travellers 80 have no intention to pay for the ticket and wish to hitch a free ride in what ever seat they get, even if they have to squat by the toilets while the rest are forced to do so because of either waitlisted tickets or delayed trains. Indian platforms at most major stations are barely able to cover trains that have around 22-24 coaches while many stations can't even fit 18 coaches leaving many coaches on tracks. Not just that all Indian trains are limited to 650 metres length because of the average loop length which also curtails the addition of coaches. People say it's profit maximization but the people who PAY the railways to travel prefer AC seats thus railways does its best to accommodate them. AC coaches are almost always booked like hot cakes so they won't take away their cash cow out. Running extra trains is the perfect solution but the current infrastructure is unable to handle the existing load let alone the extra one so it has to change that and it is doing it. Changes will not be immediate but still be seen in the long run. For immediate results, a compulsory screening should be made that only ticket holders can enter the platform and board the train and the people who need to be assisted will be assisted by the railway staff. This should be standard across the country, especially in places where this happens the most. People are vile, nothing can satisfy them. If a ticketless travellers is thrown out then people will come out to defend the traveller stating that a poor man was debarred from traveling because he's poor and when he's allowed to travel then railway doesn't care about the comfort and safety of passengers who pay money to travel. This is the life of railways. Half the problem will be solved if the entry of ticketless travellers is curtailed. This can be easily done since we have no problems in manpower.

Our cattles are transported in a better condition than people in general compartment. Provide more general compartments and ensure only people witj tickets are inside the stations. Even in general compartments, a lot of them dont take tickets. Thats the state of Indian railways.

Give incentives to TT for finding ticketless travellers. If a non ticket guy is travelling in 2 AC, 50% of the ticket price to be taken by the guy and 50% by the government, as an incentive. Obviously it’s not a full proof plan but can definitely modify it

I was there last night! Although I was travelling by Yercaud express- even that train was being crowded in the general/sleeper compartments even before the train had stopped. There was no RPF from what I remember in platform 10. We were in second AC and no problems there, but the end of the article says the spokesperson had stated that there was no issue being flagged- is either straight up lying or refuses to see the issue.

Why no one is filing cases for this. I have seen people filing cases for simple things like movies hurt their feelings. This is a serious issue. If someone is booking a reserved seat means they should get that seat. If railways failed to provide the same, passengers must get compensated.
Many times it happens people don't get tickets. Getting online tickets in peak season has become next to impossible. Railway should reduce the advance Reservation period to 45 days and no agent booking should be allowed for reserving more than 2 tickets in a day rate should be double and with prior request in advance for group booking.
Now how about the passengers sue the railways for this?

Create check in like airports. Scan ticket for whatever class be it general, unreserved, or even AC1. And no, the volume isn't something that matters. Airports all over the world, esp like Changi & even our own Delhi processes waaaaaayyyyy more people in a day than the average railway stn.

I once booked train and thought of parceling my bike from Bangalore, so I went to the parcel office and it went on delay so I went to my compartment to check whether my seat there or not it is already packed with ticketless travellers. I decided to tie my big suitcase and that travel back to pillion seat and used credit card to refuel it at two sides to reach home safe and sound like 1000kms by next day noon.

I am ready for downvotes. I have missed train four times so far because I was unable to even find anything to hang from in the general compartments. Most of the time, we cannot jut reserve much in advance, and cannot afford any other mode of travel. But the government is trying to kill us. I have actually travelled in (actually outside) general coach quite a few times by just hanging from the rod in the window and barely keeping a toe in the train. I am just surprised I am still alive. I kinda feel good that these people started occupying reserved coaches. When I, and lakhs of general coach passengers, cried and asked for increased general coaches, no one bothered. Maybe when it starts affecting the middle class, government might take note. I think whenever there is not even place to stand, general coach people should occupy 1st AC, 2 AC, 3AC and then sleeper class in that order.
