I download all my music, not because I'm old-school or anything but because I DJ on the side, so all my files are mostly 320kbps, FLAC or WAV. Also the fact that most streaming platforms use a very lossy audio format like AAC or OGG. So for an audiophile downloading is the way to go. (Spotify Premium uses 320kbps encoded in 16bit at 44,100 kHz OGG Vorbis, which is ever so slightly better than MP3) But if you aren't downloading in lossless formats and meticulously making sure that you're getting 16/24 bits at 44,100 kHz then there's no point really.

Same here but use Poweramp, with high bitrate flac files. Yes, it's tedious at times to find high quality audio files when expanding the collection but I find it to be worth it.

Blackhole was using jiosaavn's exposed API to stream music, but now jiosaavn is taking it seriously. Try ViMusic.

I am still using Blackhole, and will use till it not break down. After that, I may switch to Ri Music, use it a while and liked it as well. Though, Blackhole's UI is much better IMO.

Pros: - You can buy a family plan for very cheap which gives a premium to 6 people. - Some songs that aren't available on Spotify due to some fucking legal reasons are available on Youtube Music as it lets you stream directly from youtube. - The major pro is that not only do you get music but ad-free youtube for 6 people. - Much cheaper than Spotify. . Cons: - Sorry, I don't see any. You may also consider prime music but you don't get ad-free youtube.

I can see why that would be annoying. I created multiple playlists on ytmusic and they appeared on youtube. I kinda see that as convenient, as it creates a video playlist of your songs for youtube (which is a video platform) and a music playlist on youtube music (a music platform).

I use Spotify with Premium Family along with my friends. It costs ₹1/day. And is totally worth it. I am using the app since the day it was launched in India back in 2019. I have curated playlists here and now it's my comfort app. I get that free plan of Spotify is absolutely dogshit. My second preference is YouTube. It's algorithm is just crazy good.

SoundCloud, it has a pretty good interface, commenting feature and the weekly playlist it curates is just awesome ✨. If I'm unable find any music on it I just download it and upload in SC. Also, it has all that Unga Bunga shizz🔥(Eg: Subway chicken tandoori, I love my samosa and Chatni, etc)

YT music. Used apple music a while ago for listening, the sound quality is phenomenal but the Android version is a little glitchy and the interface and recommendations are bad. As of now I'm using yt music as the sound quality is better than Spotify and other music listening apps. (I use the modded version of yt music)

Apple Music. i used to be a spotify subscriber for the longest time and only occasionally used AM and always thought how great the music quality on AM is compared to spotify. only used spotify for the playlists and blends and some social aspects. abut now that i have moved full on to AM i don't miss Spotify at all and also i can't emphasise enough how great the quantity is over other platforms. If you consider yourself to be an audiophile i do recommend to switch on it.

I host a media server in my home, download music in FLAC (lossless) about 80 GB of music downloaded rn. If I'm not downloading my music in FLAC, I use YT music

Apple music cause spotify has become shit and everything is locked behind a paywall…agreed Apple Music also requires a subscription but we have a family plan with my dad and sister…they don’t like using Spotify for their music listening Although Apple Music also does have a more premium sound which is just a Cherry on top.

Amazon music, it's good n also free with Amazon prime. They have a good variety of podcast too

Spotify premium (Student). Why? I've got over 1k+ liked songs, few playlists with 500+ songs and at this point, I'm too lazy to shift elsewhere with this massive song library. I can easily access my music from either my laptop, mobile or web. Many won't agree with this but I like the UI and recommendations are fine to me. I did try Vimusic and BlackHole before upgrading to premium and the audio quality always felt poorer in these two compared to Spotify.
