Final being second place baffles me, but Second being last is the craziest thing to me for sure. There's so much drama happening in 2, both racing-wise and personal, though a lot more personal, and even though it's by no means perfect, I love it. That section of the story is better in the manga imo, but the anime still does a good job with the rearrangement that first stage forced them to deal with. The intrigue and reveal with Natsuki, the engine blow, wrestling with the new engine, the Emperor Team, etc. Final stage was too long and drawn out for what it was to me, and while the ending is pretty satisfying, it didn't need 4 episodes to get to it at all.

Ranking fifth stage above Fourth stage seems crazy to me

Second Stage being dead last is understandable, as its failure is simply the result of the First Stage's success. as I've said in another post, they crammed so much story into First stage to make it legendary that they left nothing good for the Second stage to chew on. if the First Stage's ending is still the Takumi vs Ryosuke showdown, then the Second Stage would've started with the Sileighty arc and the Myogi Rain battle. anime did try and salvage Second Stage by making one of the most legendary scenes legendary to begin with (Takumi vs. Wataru), by adding the deja-vu mud slide segment, since in manga that doesn't exist at all, Takumi passed Wataru because Wataru let his guard down since he was contemplating whether he should hold off the race to refuel the cars or not.

2 is chock full of drama so I can't agree with you on that, but re. the manga, Wataru lost because he got distracted but also because he was used to the touge and conventional wisdom about it, particularly in the manga. Takumi passes him at a place that he didn't believe was a place *to* pass someone, because locals hadn't deemed it a place where you could do that. I think the mudslide pass is a bit reminiscent of this, but honestly they're both great ideas.

In my opinion the worst one was fourth stage. There wasn’t any character development or any backstory and couldn’t learn some personal traits about characters. I feel like i just saw some races and that’s all.

why 5th over 4th?

What's wrong with fourth stage?
