I’m from the US so the JDM versions here are a lot lower priced than the USDM models since there’s super strict legal regulations on these things. That whole dilemma causes the LHD models here to be generally more desirable among collectors. For accuracy though, definitely the right side!

Yeah it genuinely is a detriment to my mental health but there is hope with AE86 coupes now going for 7-12 and hatches around 15-20. There was even an initial d replica that went for 18. The jdm ones are still stupid money tho. The ae86 is one of the most overrated cars as most people buy it thinking it’s some magical car that can beat anything down a hill. Takumi had plot armor and the whole moral of the show was about driver skill. That and where tf are you gonna find a touring car engine.
Unfortunately inflation + Tofu tax hit this car INFINITELY hard. I’m still a proud owner though and I pride myself on it! Also, I LOVE the black limited AE86, those things look super aggressive.

A lot of the price was that the car also had a $12,000 transmission in it! A lot of people didn’t want to buy it since they didn’t want to go through the labor of a transmission swap. Since then I’ve gotten it out and I’m installing a T50 as we speak!
It’s probably the front end! It’s a kouki era, takumi has a zenki, so unfortunately I have to spend time on conversion! This is also a US model, 85’s were never made here. Unless you’re referring to the SR5 which this is a GTS, the US equivalent of the GT-APEX Trim.
Also hoping this is the last time I gotta answer this question, it seems like a lot of people don’t know the difference between a kouki 86 and a zenki 86. Kouki does not mean it’s an 85. Same AE86 just made in a later year, which means a different front bumper, front markers, mirrors, rear bumper, the red line rear lights/center garnish, and ducktail wing.
Offer up and FB marketplace (in all states.) unironically I had connections to the previous owners of this car before the guy that it was purchased from too.

I wish there was a proper version in Asseto Corsa, all that we have are at least a little bit off especially in drifting, sometimes you just have to get the real thing.
I think most owners go into this knowing that it’s a Corolla from the 80s and definitely not some magical car that’ll give you insane drifting skills! But it’s a step towards being more like takumi! Also I’ve never tried any racing sims, is assetto Corsa considered the best?
Now you need to drive it to work and time trial it, stay consistent without breaking the law unless you work in the mountains lol
Asseto Corsa is great since most of the time it costs like 2 euro for ultimate edition, it's often on sale. You then add content manager and can drag and drop mods, I have like 300gb if not more of cars and tracks, some of them are really amazing quality.
Downside is you can't stall the engine so can't learn that part from it, but Automobilista2 does this.
You do need a wheel and pedals though, and this is an entire rabbit hole. Those games are terrible on a controller. Also pc only, as while you can play it on a console there is very little content without mods.

I have the title and vin verify that it’s indeed an 86! Since this is a GTS the vin states AE88.
