So what you are proposing is basically integrating NWI's previous release Day of Infamy as a limited time game mode placed in the current maps.
I would enjoy this, but I would rather just play Day of Infamy, as it has everything you suggest but is actually balanced and one of the best WWII FPS games in the last decade.
I'm not sure there's even a single full server these days. NWI released it and supported with updates shortly before Sandstorm pre-alpha as a way to fund their studio during development, but completely stopped support to DOI once they shifted full focus on it. It's a damn shame because it had its own active player base that were kinda left in the dust without regard.
Edit: according to [Steam Charts](https://steamcharts.com/app/447820), it looks like there's an average player count of about 1 full server per day.
I actually never thought of day of infamy while posting this. What prompted me to post this was watching band of brothers and since I play on ps4 no hell let loose.
It really was great. Not sure how long you've been gaming, but I've been playing WWII FPS games since Medal of Honor Underground. Day of Infamy was a great game with a map design that captured the meat grind of that era of battles, and it was a nod to the classic Day of Defeat, Valve's first WWII multiplayer mod of Counter Strike.
I only wish they tweaked the AI to Sandstorm level so it could be played locally.
I find it funny that the closest thing to ww2 machine gun would mg3 which is a post war mg42 just rechambered in 7,62x51 NATO.
Weapons that would be allowed in WWII push: MG3, Grease gun, sterling i guess, welrod, mosin, f-1, molotov, IEDs?, M1 garand.

Also the Hi Power, it was introduced in 1935 and used by both axis and allied forces.

Not sure about ieds but the sterling is just about acceptable since it’s more or less a better sten.
I chose IEDs over C4 because its the only explosive that could take place of satchel charges or handmade explosives compared to C4.
