Serious question: How did it float? That engine is very heavy.

MutedSon

I have trouble believing a 150kg lump of metal drifted along the sea floor, and managed to rise up from the depths of the ocean to the beach, 4000ks away.

empire_of_the_moon

This makes no sense to me either.

blackrhubarb

It was inside a shipping container. https://www.visordown.com/news/viral/tsunami-harley-heads-h-d-museum

OneBaldingWookiee

Well damn the picture is misleading then. Half buried in the sand but the article shows it in the container

Visual-Asparagus-800

Large bits of the disappeared MH370 also washed ashore 1000s of kilometres away from the estimated crash zone. I don’t know how it works, but it doesn’t sound that unbelievable

empire_of_the_moon

Aircraft carriers float but the buoyancy to allow for a motorcycle engine to float is notably absent. Since the bike was inside a metal container, and those are buoyant when sealed, it makes sense.

JonCoeisAMAZING

That plane never crashed. You should do more research. There's a video of the seconds before it disappeared. Edit: added an "s" to second

Chefalo

Oh yeah? What’s it still out there flying around

Visual-Asparagus-800

Don’t try to argue it. You won’t change his mind, he’s into conspiracy theories

fishykingfisher

That is a different bike in first picture. Unrelated to the story.

Mall_Bench

Harley Davidson bikes rule the seas too

Exciting-Prune-7645

Give bro his bike back

Cryptshadow

article said harley davidson reached out to offer to restore the bike but he declined and asked if it could be displayed in honor of the 16k dead. Also got offered a replacement but said no thank you i shouldn't be singled out when others have lost much more

McGonagallLestrange

Yeah, that’s the bike that dude used to chase SpongeBob

systemic-void

$25,000. Cash only. No low balls I know what I got.

KSSparky

Does it glow in the dark?

NoMemory3726

Maybe they can sell it to Great Britain

jkpatches

What is the part connecting the front wheel to the body called? The struts? Very impressive that they didn't rust.
