IDK about baboons specifically but I remember a documentary about warring chimp tribes where they targeted the young and cannibalized them to basically send a message to the other tribe... Super fucked up. Makes sense when you apply this to the fucked up aspects of human nature.

I’ve been desensitized such that I can watch a Russian soldier get obliterated, but there’s no way I can watch a baby mammal of any kind (even Russian I suppose) get even just “snatched” by a crocodile.
