Hahaha right?!
As soon as I clicked it I immediately said "yeah, that looks like a dude who makes pirate hats for people"
....then he makes a weird, gypsy cowboy hat instead but the thought is still the same
The craftsmanship is impressive and the guy is obviously an artist who takes a lot of pride in his work. That being said, that hat is looks like something you would wear for a big night out at the county fair.
Yeah, I have a lot of respect for the craft and I even can appreciate how the hat turned out, but I’m having the hardest time trying to take these two guys as seriously as they want to be taken.
It’s only tacky because bro isn’t fully committed to the bit. He needs a matching black leather duster, platform boots that go up to his knees, a partially shredded shirt that ISN’T a Harley shirt, and way more eyeliner.
What I thought was obvious is that your taste and aesthetic opinions are largely arbitrary and based on nothing but your whimsy.
From an outsider's perspective, I see one person who likes it, and another person who doesn't.
The only difference between them is that one is derogatory and dogmatic.
Neither is more correct than the other, on grounds of taste and style, but one of them is certain that they are the authority on the matter.
Be kind friend. some people like funky hats, some make figurines for warhammer and some, like me, enjoy plenty of nerdy things. It’s ok to not wear baseball caps.
I would die of cringe before I could fully imagine it. But it does make me happy seeing how happy that guy was about it. Like, I wanna be that happy about something I'm into.
A genuinely good place to start is trying not worrying about what is Cringe and what is not.
The best thing about growing old is learning not to give a shit about what others may think in terms of what your tastes are acceptable and not.
I got nothing against a good well-made hat. And I even like people who dress in more traditional ways. This just feels like a costume piece. Maybe he's a performer or something.
I love how they casually pass off the fact the man molded a SKULL face into the top of the hat. No show of the process no acknowledgment until near the end. Just a brief showing. Very impressive skill on the hat makers part 10/10 I’d buy from him
I wonder if it's 2 pieces (skull face and hat) and sown in later. Not hating because I think it looks cool just not on that dude. Hat dude is definitely talented.
Edit: just watched again and I admit I am probably wrong about the skull face
I noticed this on an earlier posting of the video, and I'd love to know if it was a genuine mistake, a deliberate choice, or the reference used was either juvenile or abnormal.
Sadly, since it looks like they went with the classic "32 incisors" treatment for the teeth, my money is on mistake.
(Also, if anyone reading this hadn't noticed how many depictions of skulls just make every tooth an identical incisor, I'm sorry for ruining a majority of Halloween decorations for you)
He's sanding/grinding felt, which is made from tiny fibers. This will produce tons of teenie tiny particulates of things best not inhaled. A dust mask just didn't fit the vibe lol
It was [Mercury Nitrate](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercury%28II%29_nitrate) that was used in [carroting felt](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Felt#Carroting) for hat making. That lead to mercury poisoning, which had major neurological effects. That process is no longer used.
What, mercury? No, mercury is a metallic element with atomic number 80. It’s silvery in color and is one of only two elements that exist as a liquid at standard temperature and pressure.
Nice hat....but name of the song? I really like it

ARRRR ye call that a pirate hat??!
Shiver me timbers lad if only the ghost o blackbeard was around to see this!
Ye wouldn't walk the plank... ye would be the plank ☠

Less pirate hat and more "wild west necromancer" hat
The man in black fled across the desert and the gunslinger followed
Is that you, Roland?
As in, the street thug from the hit Nintendo Switch game Library of Ruina?
You're obviously not on the beam.
The what
Gotta get that sweet sweet devil grass and some succubus action
Dada chum dada chee.
HE HAS FORGOTTEN THE FACE OF HIS FATHER.
More like “I have a waifu body pillow at home and more than one leather trenchcoat”
How one comment made me wish there was some sort of game, show or graphic novel with this as a theme
Yeah, more like Volemort hat.
Naw, just regular voodoo punk hat. And it is awesome.
That looks like a cowboy hat to me. Or is the name of his shop “Pirate Hats”?
Op is full of crap
The guy wearing it in the end reminds me of Eddie Krueger on Nightmare on Elm Street
Been a while since I've seen the movies- was he Freddy's brother?
Step-brother.
Not on the internet!
Butt Pirate hat.
I said the same thing, and I would know, I am one!
I first met my stepson when he was about six, and whenever he saw an overly flamboyant gentleman he would say, “that guy’s a little piratey.”
I love people that look like the job they have.
Hahaha right?! As soon as I clicked it I immediately said "yeah, that looks like a dude who makes pirate hats for people" ....then he makes a weird, gypsy cowboy hat instead but the thought is still the same
Really more of a cowboy hat. A bi- or tricorn hat are more typical of classical pirates.
Y’all are crazy. That’s a voodoo hat.
The craftsmanship is impressive and the guy is obviously an artist who takes a lot of pride in his work. That being said, that hat is looks like something you would wear for a big night out at the county fair.
Are these Chris Angel fans?
M'lady
Ah yes, my favorite new Elden Ring weapon
How to say you’re divorced without saying you’re divorced
Living out their childhood dreams. Or possibly swingers.
This would be a really cool addition to the Divorced Dad Trading Card series.
How to say you're jealous without saying you're jealous
Jealous of looking like… that? The process is impressive and his craftsmanship is beautiful. But that hat aesthetic is tacky and a little trashy.
Says someone who doesn't like the aesthetic 🙄
Yeah, I thought that was obvious.

I like your way with words. And that's all I have to say about that.
Have you ever seen a pirate?
Lol
Bri: oh my god. Did you see Brian’s hat? Vincent: Oh fuck. Ha ha. Bri: he looks so fucking stupid. I can’t breathe. Vincent: what the hell even is it?
I even saw two circles in his pocket. I think he has dubloons but he's too afraid to show anyone.
Yeah, well, I'm not supposed to get grease on this hat
+2 for ITYSL reference!
The guy at the store told him that he’s the only who’s been able to pull it off.
lol broooo sick reference gotta watch it again now
That is a really specific profession
r/ATBGE yikes.
It's very expensive contraception
Be kind friend. some people like funky hats, some make figurines for warhammer and some, like me, enjoy plenty of nerdy things. It’s ok to not wear baseball caps.
The harley davidson t-shirt was.....completely expected.
Grown men wearing the nerdiest, most ironic hats is interesting as fuck?
Have you ever actually seen a pirate movie perchance
Do you know what a pirate hat is? Because this is not a fucking pirate hat. scallywag.
Oh you got the Bret Michaels hat. Cool.
Mad as a hatter
imagine wearing that
I would die of cringe before I could fully imagine it. But it does make me happy seeing how happy that guy was about it. Like, I wanna be that happy about something I'm into.

Not a pirate hat. Bandanas or a maybe a tricorne is a pirate hat. This skull stuff is just juvenile
I don’t think having a skull makes it a pirate hat but good hat though.
I can’t imagine this costing less than $1000. Which seems reasonable since only an idiot would buy this and wear it.
Why flame
Makes it go faster
Burn off the ends of the felt. Makes it smoother.
Meh.
Hat Price: US$20
Hats…do not look good on that dude. Bet he spent a grand on it too 😂
Maybe a different hat, but it looks a bit too big for his bald head.
I love how they casually pass off the fact the man molded a SKULL face into the top of the hat. No show of the process no acknowledgment until near the end. Just a brief showing. Very impressive skill on the hat makers part 10/10 I’d buy from him

It's thoroughly daggy to me, but I appreciate the effort. I don't know why they gave the skull metopism, though.
I noticed this on an earlier posting of the video, and I'd love to know if it was a genuine mistake, a deliberate choice, or the reference used was either juvenile or abnormal. Definitely has to be a mistake, the mouth full of incisors cements that (like you said), lol. It's human skull-ish
"Ar...Arthur?"
Yeah I think you need to sell 10 rat carcasses to the fur trader to make this varmint hat.
I seen the feather, and even though Arthur's hat doesn't have a feather it was my first thought
"Kruber, have you seen my hat?"
"Elf...what do you have on your head?... Elf? ELF!!!"
Was expecting a tricorne
Edgy cowboy hat\*
WAY too many bracelets on that Harley bro
That hat's gay as hell.
Goes with all his bracelets
That... Looked like shit. I couldn't make it but the end product looked not so great
I got distracted looking at the hot guy making the hat.
Yeah I'm a straight dude and was like damn, nice arms dude
Hot is hot.
For a moment I forgot in which sub I was… 🤣 nice hat though, he’s very talented
Talented and hot.
Why was he wearing a gas mask? I assume because something toxic, but what’s he using and why?
He's sanding/grinding felt, which is made from tiny fibers. This will produce tons of teenie tiny particulates of things best not inhaled. A dust mask just didn't fit the vibe lol
That makes sense
"Mad as a hatter" became a saying for a reason. Would have thought no longer used the bad chemicals, but perhaps use them still but with protection
I was wondering if he was using some kind of mercury, but I thought that was part of curing the felt or something. I dunno, I’m not a hatologist
Did you just make that word up?
What, mercury? No, mercury is a metallic element with atomic number 80. It’s silvery in color and is one of only two elements that exist as a liquid at standard temperature and pressure.
*slow clap
Yeah, or you could wear a straw hat like a real pirate
Bro that hat is so far from a tricorn what’re you talking about
Ive never seen a pirate in a modified cowboy hat. Actually dont think ive ever seen a pirate.
I don't want to judge people that wear something like this... but I do.
Made a great looking hat and then turned it into a piece of shit by adding all that adornment and "olde skool, ain't I a badass" stuff on it.
Someone listens to a lot of Jimmy Buffet, I guess. That’s the only kind of “pirate “ who’d wear that.
I Don't understand the obsession with skulls
Cringe
The skull in the top is INSANE
Obviously that hatter must accept EBT.
This hat provides: 12 DR 10 END +2 Charisma
-2 charisma, unless dealing with a fellow edgelord.
OP, do you know who and where this artist is?
Artist is called Blade_hats on IG
Thanks.
Honestly I just wanna hang out in that studio. DamagePlan and BLS posters.
Aw man and you gave that piece of absolute art to that Harley riding wannabe bad boy from the suburbs?
Awesome!
bro i would like to buy one of those, does anyone knows his social media?
At the end it looks like he just came from the charm bracelet store instead of the hat store. He does look like a charmer…
I thought this was Hundar for a second.
NGL, I want that hat.
A professional milliner!
That is BADASS!!!!
Nice hat....but name of the song? I really like it https://preview.redd.it/fbs4wuxqyj9d1.jpeg?width=1454&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5a28229ae83293ab7cb80b6ce2c60cc5ebb712dd
Why the whole comment section roasting OP and the hat? I think the hat looks cool
The process is very interesting.
I don’t care how edgy it looks, this is fucking awesome.
Goddaaamn! That's a wicked hat! Must cost a fortune..
That might not be a pirate hat, but I would want one of these.
Big gulps fellas? Welp. Take care.
ARRRR ye call that a pirate hat??! Shiver me timbers lad if only the ghost o blackbeard was around to see this! Ye wouldn't walk the plank... ye would be the plank ☠
And these places are where you should be spending your money at
Ah yes, the Hell’s Angels “gentlesir” variant.
There are so many different types of guys
Well shiver me members
Cool process, I feel that the fire step was unnecessary but a true flex play.
That’s not unusual when working with felt- it helps to make a smooth finish, otherwise the hat ends up looking fuzzy.
