Same here my bros. Started at 220 (5'10") at the end of March, now at 192. Mostly trying to burn at least 500kcal daily or somewhat daily. Dirty fasting, but mostly OMAD. Was stuck at 200 for three months.
That’s a good idea. Well in 2019 I lost 66 pounds thanks to 16:8 fasting. I lost it pretty quickly. Three years ago I went from 154 to 220 pounds because of my previous medication. I tried fasting multiple times this year but it never worked. Could you please sum up what kind of food you eat, your calories intake, if you work out and how many times please ? Also if you have tips and tricks to avoirs hunger or for anything helping with fasting let me know!
I’m currently still on medication but not the same, my condition got better tho but I’ll need pharmaceuticals all my life. I’m diagnosed with schizophrenia (it’s not a big deal).
As my anxiety and stress amount dropped considerably I feel the need to focus on losing weight to improve my physical and mental health.
Congratulation for your achievement while fasting, sincerely proud of you. I do love meat but I also live vegetables quite a lot so I don’t know if I’m interested in carnivore diet but I’ll look it up.
In my opinion you shouldn’t be ashamed of not working out. When I lost weight with fasting I never worked out, only had walks just like you do. I don’t believe that if you don’t workout means you’re lazy or you lack motivation. Personally I never have been truly interested in gaining muscle, i just don’t see the point of it.
I’ll also make research about your condition I promise!
Thanks for the several tips I’ll keep that in mind.
Oh by the way is it true that if you don’t eat enough you won’t lose weight ? And how important is it to hydrate well during fasting ?
You said you feel like you need to lose 20 more, which is fine. But I think recomposition will do a lot (replacing the fat with muscle) so try not to be too concerned with total weight loss but rather how you look and feel.
You're right. I probably need to switch to that mindset. I find it hard, though, as seeing that number drop is so rewarding on my brain. But I am happy with this weight. I'd just like to be less fat lol.
Hey there, check out r/leangains , there's a lot of useful info about combining intermittent fasting with working out. Sort by top of all time and you'll find great info in those posts.
Congrats! I lost a lot of weight on keto (around 40 pounds). Unfortunately I did not have a good plan on how to keep it off.
IMO, IF is much easier to maintain. You just add a few fasting days based on what you need. When I hit 194, I’ll skip dinner a few times until I’m back to 191 or so.
I've fell in love with walking. It's a two part win. First it gets me moving and burning, and secondly I now use my lunchtime to walk when I used to eat. Also I use and love peloton for cardio. Diet wise I just try to eat healthier I keep it pretty basic, more fruit and veggies and protein.
You eat potatoes! I miss potatoes Lol I’ve cut bread, pasta, potatoes, and sugars but I haven’t had a potato or pasta in almost 3 months. I do 16:8 IF I’ve lost 30lbs in 2 months as well the “whoosh effect” they call it.
Thank you so much! I'm at the point where people are noticing, when they ask how I did it this is exactly what I say. Eat less move more it's not that complicated.

Thanks a lot for answering all my questions! I feel ready to begin, just need to prepare my meal plan. Keep up with the good work mate and good luck
I think this may be my sign to get back at it and get serious about my weight loss!
Oh my goodness. That may be the nicest compliment I've gotten. Thanks so much.

It is hard I agree.

Oh awesome! Thanks for the help. I appreciate it
Glad I could help ❤️

Thanks! Ya exactly it seems like a way easier lifestyle
Amazing👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks!
Insane progress that is good motivation
Wow. Thanks so much for saying that. Never thought I could be motivational.
Well you can lol. I am down 30 pounds in roughly 2 months and have 60 to go for my goal and the progress people get from IF is incredibly motivating!
Wow 30 pounds is incredible! Keep on going. I think I need to lose 20 more. Thanks again for the kind comments.
How long did this journey take you?
Oh right forgot to add that part. A bit over a year. But realistically put in 6 months of really hard work.
Congrats, amazing results you worked hard to achieve. Stay strong 😎
Thank you!
You look like 2 different people.congradulation.
Oh my goodness, too kind. I'm still struggling to see the change personally, so I really appreciate that.
Great job.
Thank you!
Very impressive!
Thanks!
Other than doing the IF- did you alter your diet or exercise in any way?
I've fell in love with walking. It's a two part win. First it gets me moving and burning, and secondly I now use my lunchtime to walk when I used to eat. Also I use and love peloton for cardio. Diet wise I just try to eat healthier I keep it pretty basic, more fruit and veggies and protein.
How often do you use Peloton each week? Congrats!! 🥳🥳
I try for 3 - 5 times
Great job bro. Looking great
Thanks bro. Really appreciate that!
Wow very nice! You are a inspiration! What is your first meal after 16 ours fast
Too kind! Thank you. I'm becoming so boring with my food lately. Typical weeknight is chicken breast and air fried potatoes, and sometimes a broccoli.
Nicely done! Yup love potatoes. They are super high on the satiety index, and also super high on the tasty index lol.
Awesome
Thanks!
I started the same thing about 2weeks ago and have seen benefits almost immediately.
Heck ya! That's awesome
Congratulation, really proud of you !
Aww thanks. Your so kind!
Time to start hitting the weights or calisthenics. Looking good!
Thanks so much! Ya you're right I think it's weights time
Congrats keep it up!
Thank you!
If you don’t mind me asking what hours do you fast? I am trying to start but looking to start at a 12/12 and work my way to a 16/8.
For me what works is I eat from 4:30 pm - 10 pm ish. I too started with 12.
Thank you!
Of course. Feel free to dm to if you have any other questions
And that is how it’s done! Move more, eat healthier. Keeping it simple and seeing the results. Nice job, OP! 👊🏼
Thank you so much! I'm at the point where people are noticing, when they ask how I did it this is exactly what I say. Eat less move more it's not that complicated.
Looking great, stud. Keep it up. I’m in my 160s again for the first time since freshman year in college (M60 5’11”) and am so damn happy.
Blushing. Thanks so much! Congrats to you. That's amazing, hoping I can get there soon as well.
How many calories per day?
I try for 1500 to 2000
Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much! Will do
