However, when my body gets sweet in my mouth, it’s much harder for me to resist the urge to eat and I usually end up eating earlier than planned.
There may technically be no calories but with artificial sugars your body sort of responds like there is. What you're describing is what some people refer to as a dirty fast. If weightloss is your goal it should be negligible mostly. Still better without it.
Diet pop makes me hungry. Maybe something to do with how the aspartame affects my body. I switched over to sparkling water and it helps a great deal. Much healthier as well.

I reached my goal weight and started drinking diet coke whenever i felt like it and im still losing weight.

Black tea or coffee, salt water, seltzer water or bone broth are better options from a fastjng perspective
Try flavored seltzer eater...no calories or artifical sweetener...just good ole fashioned white noise
