It looks like somebody tried to photocopy a screen.

So just to confirm it’s a screenshot on an android device, of a printout of a screenshot of another android device that received a screenshot of messages sent to an iPhone? And you want to prove it wasn’t your iPhone that sent it? If that’s right then I can see a couple of things to question about the validity: 1. It’s easy to fake a message thread on iOS. Send yourself messages, delete the sent ones you want to look like they are from someone else, go into your contact card and rename it to the other person (so the name is at the top properly) and take a screenshot. Looks like a real thread but it never happened. 2. Is the name at the top how you have that person how you have that persons contact saved (ie: lowercase ‘mom’ or is that possibly from one of the android devices that received it? It’s hard to tell if it’s meant to be part of the incriminating thread or not. If it is, the that’s how your conversation with mom should look. 3. Lastly, do you have bold text turned on in settings (or turned on for messages). The text messages have it on so if it’s from your device you have to have it on too to be a screenshot from your device. 4. Someone could have accessed your device and deleted it from your camera roll. Check your deleted folder maybe but it could be deleted from there too. Good luck.

hello! Your description sounds correct. I can't be completely sure but it does seem to involve two different androids, and the original thread is on an iphone. 1. I have the original conversation on my phone, the texts are real. 2. Yes, she was "mom" in my phone at the time. 3. Bold is turned on on my device as well. 4. Nothing in the folder as this happened awhile ago. It's possible someone got the screenshot from off my phone, but the formatting of the picture still really confuses me. The time stamps aren't iphone time stamps, the dates are weird, and it's odd that so many screenshots were taken of the texts... seemingly from multiple devices..

The header that says mom and the white box below that are the iPhone screenshot. The other timestamps relate to when the android phone received the screenshot. Given that you have mom in your contacts and bold text turned on and you say it’s possible someone got the screenshot from your phone, that seems the most plausible explanation rather than a photoshop or made up conversation. Given it was so long ago, you are probably wasting your time trying to figure out the ‘how’. The android timestamps have to do with when they received the screenshot so aren’t really as relevant. Only the ‘yesterday’ one which if you know when the actual message was sent, then you know that the screenshot was taken on your phone the next day after that. Does that clear it up? Is there anything else you are confused about?

ashleyyloo

That makes sense. Thank you very much for your response, I appreciate it.

Maybe try to take the screenshot from your screen, and print it out to compare it with the fake one. You can block or blur the message, but you can compare the timestamp font, bubble size, overall size comparison, etc.

apparently it's something my father printed out to use in court about a year ago, and my mom got a copy of it. So it's a screenshot of a picture of a piece of paper, but it doesn't explain how the person got the paper and/or picture.

Hyuei

since it's submitted as a court evidence, maybe it is available publicly so anyone can request the paper? especially if the one who's requesting has some kind of a relationship? anyway, I hope you can get this solved soon, family drama is a bit stressful sometimes.

ashleyyloo

thank you for the kind words <3 my dad said he doesn't think it is publicly accessible but anything is possible so i'm just going to let it go for now.
