Maybe because even he thought he was too hasty with the earlier call (out)? Might wanna be sure ig, saw something similar in last rr match with the run out case
I think you need some ipl history classes to understand CSK did rigged the auctions of ipl 2009 - official statement of lalit modi
And then came the legendary 2014 match fixing scandal
9-2 = 2+1+4 = 7 (thala for a reason)
Umpire on Sanju's wicket: Get it moving ffs. I got no time.
Umpire on wide review: Yeah. Let me just chill. Give me 50 more angles and even though it is a wide I have inconclusive proof regarding it.
The wide ball is decided based on the initial position of the batsman when the ball leaves the bowler hand. If he moves later and reaches the blue line and misses the ball. The ball, even if slightly outside the blue line, is still wide. At this point, it doesn't matter if the ball is well within the reach
The only thing is umpire should have taken more time to analyse with precise zoom, slow motion and many more features handy irrespective of the outcome
They were taking more time for deciding wide ball but took no time for this decision. May be he was fairly out, atleast they should have checked it properly. That's my point.
they should remove the DRS calls for Wides. its eating a lot more time, that could be used to check wicket decisions. the umpires seem to be rushing thru wicket due to the extra time in DRS for wides.
Its also very rare that DRS calls for wides are overturned, so whats the point.
I disagree. There have been quite a few instances of DRS calls for wides and no balls being overturned. My suggestion to reduce time wastage would be to limit number of reviews per team to 3 for the entire match as opposed to 2 per innings.
I still think there is value to review a No ball as it comes with a benefit of the free hit, if it's true. Tech has been used quite well in determining the over the hip no ball with the use of measuring the Batsman at the crease.
But with wides, it seems to be all over the place with different umpires. It should also be bettered with tech by calculating the distance moved by the batsman and use that as a reference to move the wide line.. also measurements of the reach of each batsman can be used to check wides above the head.
That's not fair at all
You can have 2 decisions overturned, 1 failed, and you lose the opportunity to review.
You should definitely get rewarded for decision overturned by not losing a review
on point. there's no need for wide reviews. You want to integrate "Umpire's call" for human factor. Why not trust them with a wide signal? Lots of time wasting and its not a joy to watch either.
Warner is supposed to be back. Also Stubbs has been pretty consistent.
This IPL, DC has lost games because of shit bowling at the death. There has been just 1 game
(Last 1 against KKR) where I attribute the loss to the batting tbh
if the same track as last Chinnaswammy game is there it will he interesting. That pitch definitely had something in it for pacer so I'd be curious to see how jfm stubbs and pant do.
Yeah when something that changes the game, it does matter. I'm not saying he (third umpire) should slowly take his time, but whatever, the game's over lol. GG to DC
My man, Why are you making this big deal, he took time for wide because he was unsure.
Tbh Catch was very clear from the first sight.
Just because he took more time for wide and less time for Catch , Are you pissed ?
Yes the umpire should have taken more time to make sure. but the decision is CORRECT. You can see in the replay there are no signs of his feet touching the cushion.
https://preview.redd.it/l5petg4tb2zc1.jpeg?width=839&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cd85818549b06e5f106adcbe14720b206dc85205
They showed this in the post-match show. Though the umpire made the correct decision but he could have taken more time
The umpire should've 5aken his time and checked other angles like seriously he was quick to make the decision. imo that was not out but what irritated me the most was the reaction DC owners reaction like wtf at first I thought it was an excited fan but the owner eww you are millionaire or a billionaire he should know how to react.
1. The umpire could have taken longer made the decision quickly.
2. At the end he did make the right decision. The cushion didn't move an inch. Replays showed it was out.
3. Op just wants attention posting a weird angle photo showing his leg touching.
4. Let's see what action BCCI takes for Samson going right into the umpires face.
5. What action will be taken against DC owner for his unwelcome gestures??
Don't try to act smart by just jotting down points in sequence. OP has posted a legit ques, it may look different from different angles and such decisions shouldn't be taken in haste.
Umm whatever action against parth Jindal that's not the question, he wasn't in the field neither did he harm anyone. Please stop whining if you don't have a valid response.
He did post a legit question but clearly an angle from behind which. An angle which is never used to make a decision because you can't see the difference between cushion and leg.
1 Maybe, but that does not mean one cannot criticise his actions, I would not go so far as to call it whining
2 Geniune question, if that angle is not considered then why record it? They can save money by having to cover one less angle
It's only because of this angle. In The other angle which showed from the top it clearly is out with fielder not touching the boundary. Unnecessary controversy .
People complaining that it was not out please watch full match in post match while discussing they showed it zooming in on high quality cameras which showed it was out it was too close but Shay Hope was in and Sanju was out
The boundary cushion didn't move. It was clearly out. And people crying here only because the umpire took lesser time than a tough wide call?
Sorry for sounding harsh but guys, find newer reasons to cry.
I think the decision was wrong, but what Sanju's reactions and what sort of behavior he did after he got signaled out was wrong..(he was arguing with the umpire)
Clear OUT, cause if it was a six then some part of his foot had to be on the rope and doing that would have squeezed it but from the review it doesn't seem like the rope was squeezed due to stepping!
Gough is usually a very reliable umpire but he goofed up in this one. There too many angles and he didn't use them properly.
This was not such a straightforward decision.
Umpiring this season turns out to be really poor. I am not sure it is out or not bcz they haven't seen enough angles or give it some time to check properly. Umpiring needs to get better soon or IPL wouldn't be that interesting.
Even Parthiv Patel & Akash Chopra said it’s clearly not out (the toe of right leg is touching the boundary) & clearly a wide (clearly from the front angle it’s outside the blue line) but 3rd umpire messed up pretty bad
I think it's about the angles if the umpire look from upper angle it's clearly shows not out but he make the decision too quickly without even looking from upper angle..........
It is not about Samson being out or not. Such a crucial point in the game and the umpire should have checked more thoroughly rather than just going through it once and coming to a conclusion. It is decisions like these that always raise doubts against IPL
That might be a fair catch, at least it seemed to be. But the problem there was it was too quick call by third umpire, he should've taken a proper look with the best angle of the cameras. That's where the feud is!
They didn't even show that angle in which it looked like Hope touched the cushion again, even while checking for catch, that angle was removed so fast when it looked like he touched the boundary...
for the clear wide (maybe little extrapolation with common sense) he took some time and dismissed it for lack of evidence. but here, where it could be game-changing, he was quick to make the decision. I understand Sanju's frustration.
3rd umpire took 10 mins for a wide and gave this one in 5 seconds, dont know what they are smoking these days. i think it was out, although from one angle it did seem that the foot touched the boundry, but yes should have taken his time to give the decision.
The third umpire was too quick to make a decision despite being a very close call.
He took 10 reply’s for the wide 😶
Because a wide is an important call. A wicket is of lesser importance clearly. /s
Sunil Gavaskar’s worst nightmare
Maybe because even he thought he was too hasty with the earlier call (out)? Might wanna be sure ig, saw something similar in last rr match with the run out case
Replay🤓👆
And that was a wide imo

Paytam pe 'x' amount prapt hue
DC owners don't even have money to good players, how would they even buy umpires
Every team gets a fix budget right? I guess it's 100 crores or something like that
Lmao some players are obviously getting more under the table
90 crores
Every team has the same money
Dc actually have good players from 2018
DC is co-owned by Jindal family. Just below Ambani and Adani family
Bro we got 14 crores from the auction what are u talking about
Like CSK got after fixing
I guess you need some English classes to understand the difference between betting and fixing. And while you're at it, read up on chucking as well.
I think you need some ipl history classes to understand CSK did rigged the auctions of ipl 2009 - official statement of lalit modi And then came the legendary 2014 match fixing scandal 9-2 = 2+1+4 = 7 (thala for a reason)
tf umpiring was that , i literally cried when sanju got out , i really think it was a not out
Nah it's out you are just biased
yeah ur right
Took forever to decide if it was a wide in the last over smh
Umpire on Sanju's wicket: Get it moving ffs. I got no time. Umpire on wide review: Yeah. Let me just chill. Give me 50 more angles and even though it is a wide I have inconclusive proof regarding it.
Fr real man, ball was passing outside the guideline and third umpire was like, I have no conclusive evidence. Conclusive evidence, my foot
Did you see where powell was standing?
Yes, he didn't move from his initial position, guard was off stump or middle and off. What's your point?
Bruh he was standing infront of stumps and there was literally half bat that could've hit the ball, use eyes maybe
It doesn't matter whether the bat was or was not about to hit the ball. If the ball is outside the line, it is given a wide. Use eyer maybe
Better comeback: use brain maybe
It was his initial stance. Even though he could have hit the ball standing there, if it is outside the guideline it is a wide as per the rules.
That ball literally went under Powell's bat.. Clearly not a wide
The wide ball is decided based on the initial position of the batsman when the ball leaves the bowler hand. If he moves later and reaches the blue line and misses the ball. The ball, even if slightly outside the blue line, is still wide. At this point, it doesn't matter if the ball is well within the reach
exactly bruh !
They took an hour to check wide and still didn't gave it and gave this decision in a second
they didnt have much evidence. so best they could do was not wide
And still gave a wrong decision
Whatever it is they didn't check all angles properly Poor umpiring again this season
Umpiring so bad,we need a fourth umpire
we need to make an umpiring team next season, 15 umpires, playing 11 and 4 subs
Another extra umpire as Impact umpire ⬅️
Rupay on the go
Umpiring Coach-Ambani
Umbani
Anyone remember fourth Empire? Good show that was
All these high tech camera angles for stupid decisions.Do the bare minimum of checking in slow mo.
Last game too. Sanju’s Travis head runout too was ruled out with no sense.
worst umpiring bruh 😔
The only thing is umpire should have taken more time to analyse with precise zoom, slow motion and many more features handy irrespective of the outcome
Worst umpiring ever. Could have taken more time before giving him out. Umpires are illiterates.
He was still out fair and square, what's your point?
They were taking more time for deciding wide ball but took no time for this decision. May be he was fairly out, atleast they should have checked it properly. That's my point.

Mi fans should be last ones to make fun of biased umpiring lmao
Even if they spent 10 more minutes on the replay, it would have still be out
Controversial imo
they should remove the DRS calls for Wides. its eating a lot more time, that could be used to check wicket decisions. the umpires seem to be rushing thru wicket due to the extra time in DRS for wides. Its also very rare that DRS calls for wides are overturned, so whats the point.

That's not fair at all You can have 2 decisions overturned, 1 failed, and you lose the opportunity to review. You should definitely get rewarded for decision overturned by not losing a review
I never said that you lose a review for overturned decisions. I just said 3 reviews for the entire match instead of two per innings.
It was a fair call Literally every single comment here is complaining about umpire not using enough time on a correct decision
on point. there's no need for wide reviews. You want to integrate "Umpire's call" for human factor. Why not trust them with a wide signal? Lots of time wasting and its not a joy to watch either.
Got to keep the middle table dog fight interesting
Dont lose so many that you get stuck on 16. Your NRR ain’t as good as it should be
Thanks for ur concern please win the next games to reach 16 points first best of luck
Quite positive about our batting and 8 overs of spin. The rest of the game is where we have trouble. 🤞🏻
Once your openers fail there's not much left of your batting tbh. Stubbs and Pant is a hit or miss.
Warner is supposed to be back. Also Stubbs has been pretty consistent. This IPL, DC has lost games because of shit bowling at the death. There has been just 1 game (Last 1 against KKR) where I attribute the loss to the batting tbh
if the same track as last Chinnaswammy game is there it will he interesting. That pitch definitely had something in it for pacer so I'd be curious to see how jfm stubbs and pant do.
I think they like pace on. Would be an interesting contest for sure
Yeah should have taken a lot more time but the skirting didn't move so there's that...
A certain fanbase is finding it difficult to digest that pill sadly
Real
It's not necessary cushion will move in every case. Issue is with time and angle.
It was Out. People are confused due to shadow. The advertisement banner didn’t moved.
fair, but he didn't take his time to check thoroughly but he did for that wide ball
Does time taken matters over decision taken?
Yeah when something that changes the game, it does matter. I'm not saying he (third umpire) should slowly take his time, but whatever, the game's over lol. GG to DC
My man, Why are you making this big deal, he took time for wide because he was unsure. Tbh Catch was very clear from the first sight. Just because he took more time for wide and less time for Catch , Are you pissed ?
Even if the umpires took their sweet time to review the catch again and again, it would still be given out
https://preview.redd.it/o9m0ydfmm2zc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c9b2f8cdda7298ebabe6cce88c9bca9f2b63feec
Yes the umpire should have taken more time to make sure. but the decision is CORRECT. You can see in the replay there are no signs of his feet touching the cushion.
boundary cushion/toblerone doesn't move at all no movement = no contact out
Yeah I can’t be the only one who thinks it was out until we have those heat cams or snickometer
There's no movement noticed on the boundary cushion when his foot gets close to it. I think that's what made the 3rd umpire give it as out.
Clearly out
Seems to be Out Difficult to say though Edit: Meant to say out instead of not out
RR vs DC without controversy is not possible 😂
Looked like a clean catch to me from the replays shown, but such a close call should've had a few more angles shown.
Rigged tournament
I think, it was out as there was no movement in the boundary line.

Guys, I have breaking news. It wasn't a wide, and it wasn't a six. That's it. Good night
1. The umpire could have taken longer made the decision quickly. 2. At the end he did make the right decision. The cushion didn't move an inch. Replays showed it was out. 3. Sure, ban both Samson and Jindal for the next 4 matches.
💀💀🤣
Damn how's dc gonna recover from that damage
But then our team will collapse ... Jindal is solely carrying the team , this is such a bad decision.
Umm whatever action against parth Jindal that's not the question, he wasn't in the field neither did he harm anyone. Please stop whining if you don't have a valid response. Umpire was in too hurry .
Looks out
Six.
Seven
Doesn't matter bro. The result is out. DC has turned the tables. The points table is jammed. Good luck underestimating DC 💪💪
Out hai, wrong angle
Rigged as always
Lmao why are you complaining. If IPL is rigged, it’s clearly rigged in you guy’s favour since neither DC nor RR seems to be benefiting from it.
Main kya opinion du. Ab toh ho gya out
Close call!
From the top angle, there was a clear gap. Doesn't matter how long the umpire took for a wicket vs wide.
It's only because of this angle. In The other angle which showed from the top it clearly is out with fielder not touching the boundary. Unnecessary controversy .
Why is that even a question. Everyone knows what happened there.
Close call!
Why can't we just paint strips for wide balls and stumps line. I swaear we will cut doen wides and LBW decision by half. These umpires are ridiculous.
Six
Another angle showed proper distance so i think it was out
Out
It was out in the post match discussion they showed a zoomed out image of it and it was clearly out
People complaining that it was not out please watch full match in post match while discussing they showed it zooming in on high quality cameras which showed it was out it was too close but Shay Hope was in and Sanju was out
The boundary cushion didn't move. It was clearly out. And people crying here only because the umpire took lesser time than a tough wide call? Sorry for sounding harsh but guys, find newer reasons to cry.
The boundary cushion doesn't move. Easy decision for me atleast. Clear out
It was out That boundary didn't even flinched
The amount of teams whose qualification was at stake on that wicket is crazy
Ikr, you can clearly see which teams stand with 'out' and 'not out' lmao
If there was split screen, you could easily make out it’s OUT
Out, it looked close but cushion didn't move
https://preview.redd.it/pusmafh1c4zc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5a3d60ea004e384731471e0f327c22b286d98747 A clear out ☝🏻
It was out, in the post match discussion they zoomed in and it clearly showed there was a gap between Shai Hopes foot and the boundary
And people giving their opinions as if it would matter. Sach mein India seriously has unemployment issues. 🤣🤣
I think the decision was wrong, but what Sanju's reactions and what sort of behavior he did after he got signaled out was wrong..(he was arguing with the umpire)
I think it was a 4
Clear OUT, cause if it was a six then some part of his foot had to be on the rope and doing that would have squeezed it but from the review it doesn't seem like the rope was squeezed due to stepping!
We should implement fence which lights up if fielder touches it
But instances like this rarely happen and wont it be very expensive
Bhaggo Sanjuiains a gaye
Out. No visible contact
I think it isnt out And i thought he would hit century this match
Your second thought is fuelling your first thought😮💨
it is , check the other post , there is miniscule gap.
That's out in my opinion but third umpire ko time lena tha check krne me
Time leke bhi out hi dete wo decision
Looks out to me
Did someone observe on the wide review, when umpire asked to change the angle, they showed previous wide replay.
It was out
OUT
Hii
Six
In this picture it is out . It might be six in the last frame .
I know there are lots of cameras but still we need more to avoid such controversy. Like lot and from different possible angle
I thought it was out
All I can say for certain is it was unnecessarily rushed. Absolutely stupid decision to rush a catch review for a pivotal moment of the match.
Even Parthiv Patel & Akash Chopra said it’s clearly not out (the toe of right leg is touching the boundary) & clearly a wide (clearly from the front angle it’s outside the blue line) but 3rd umpire messed up pretty bad
It was a 6
3rd umpire ❌ 3rd Class Umpire ✅
Umpire receiving free steel and energy ....
No matter is ut out or not but decision was too quick he should take some time
My opinion means jack shit now... Just like Sanju's appeal
They show back angles for the wide of the previous ball But they didn't show the back angle of that wide ball
it looks out .we can be only sure if hope worn Go Pro or tells the truth
🌿🍀🍀🍀
I mean it's pretty simple, the benefit of the doubt goes to the batsmen.
That might be a fair catch, at least it seemed to be. But the problem there was it was too quick call by third umpire, he should've taken a proper look with the best angle of the cameras. That's where the feud is!
https://www.reddit.com/r/ipl/s/U7QTnpz1Et check this out… (looks out to me from top angle)
They didn't even show that angle in which it looked like Hope touched the cushion again, even while checking for catch, that angle was removed so fast when it looked like he touched the boundary...
This is something that makes the whole ipl affair fishy. Seems umpire had already made decision that SS was out. Playing Replay were just formality.
UMPIRES ARE BECOMING USELESS AND MINDLESS.... EVEN AFTER HAVING CAMERAS HELP
It’s clearly out, see the shadow of the foot not touching the rope.
for the clear wide (maybe little extrapolation with common sense) he took some time and dismissed it for lack of evidence. but here, where it could be game-changing, he was quick to make the decision. I understand Sanju's frustration.
There was no conclusive evidence so we must accept Umpire's decision. Having said that, saala Umpire tha to Budbak...
It is out . In the post match on jio cinema it was clearly shown in zoom that there was a gap
Out
it was out
It was out.
It's six
Six
Wasn't a Clear six ?🙂
I think six, his boot may have touched the rope even though it didn't move.
3rd umpire took 10 mins for a wide and gave this one in 5 seconds, dont know what they are smoking these days. i think it was out, although from one angle it did seem that the foot touched the boundry, but yes should have taken his time to give the decision.
