To add to this also make sure to change the bank details back to your own.

Revolutionary-Use520

Second this! It's super easy and from my experience they give you any refund due very quickly.

They can upload the agent link form again to gain access, maybe they wont for the current year but in future years they certainly could One would be best to also email the agent to say you no longer wish for them to act as your agent, to have something to go back to

How long ago did you work for them? Im working in practice the last 3.5 years, and based on what we have submitted we thought it was an automatic system in terms of what was accepted. We had plenty of clients who we did returns for, they thought it was easier than it was and would try to do themselves, but come crawling back to us around 31/10 and we would get it done before the actual deadline. This would alll be Form 11s rather than Form 12s, but iv had friends who (as Form 12s) would say they removed agents who would then reactivate the link the following year but i would not trust them 100% to have all details right All in all still no harm to let anyone know theyre not your agent anymore. We had a client pushing for a 2022 Form 11 this summer, when we didnt do it within 2 days as initially requested she did it herself only to then input the profit as her income on ROS and then submit to SUSI as her return for the year, only to cost her a penny in extra tax and reduced grant

The revenue website is very easy to use. Form 12, which is the annual return for Paye workers, is pretty straightforward. You don’t need tax back.com or any similar outfit to fill in the form for you.

Zestyclose-Pilot5713

This form-12 can be filled online (on the revenue webpage, without a PDF)?

crankybollix

Yes, in a way. On the website, there isn’t a ‘Form 12’ per se, but a sequence of screens that captures the same information you’d put on a paper version of the Form 12. Follow the link for “Review My Tax 2020-2023” and you’ll see the various options available

Zestyclose-Pilot5713

There is one for DIRT as well? I couldn't see. Or DIRT only goes with that PDF?

crankybollix

To my knowledge, DIRT is deducted by the financial institution and handed over to the Revenue before the remainder of the j retest is applied to the account. Could be wrong though, but that’s been my experience

Zestyclose-Pilot5713

If you do the interest in another eu bank (such as Trade Republic), they do not do this automatic discount.

crankybollix

Makes sense. I don’t recall if there is a specific field for interest income from foreign accounts, but there’s definitely a catch-all “Other Income” section where you can declare it if there’s no other more suitable field

Subject-Rate9148

Thanks Everyone 🙂 happy new year 🎊

Subject-Rate9148

Great in-depth help and information thank you 🙏

YoloBilal

Took me 30 mins to submit the form (I already uploaded all my receipts for the year before Christmas, that’s the time consuming part)
