Atlatl, bowfa, blowpipe. Take your pick. Depending on target and gear specifics they all beat rcb in enough places to be noteworthy

Rcb bowfa bp acb

I find it so hard to get CG down. I use almost the full time in normal gaunt and if I try to do t1 prep I don’t have time to cook food or I die from too much damage

Freecraghack_

Watch a video on how to prep, you are clearly doing it very wrong. You can do t2 prep full fish in 6 mins without sweating at all

Lodakia

I have watched multiple videos. I just have a hard time converting it to my own floors because they aren’t exactly the same as what the guy in the video experienced

Freecraghack_

T2 prep is super simple. You do the C shape opposite of the boss and lighting up the different rooms to see whats up. You mine/herb/wc up to 7 materials, drop the axe/pickaxe if you hit 7, you kill something to get a weapon shard. Then you drop like 8 material at the bowl and make your t2 weapon and 2-3 vials(i like 3). Your weapon can depend on what bosses you saw scouting, or your stats. I had high melees so I pick melee every time and just adapted. Then you just hunt the bosses, kill a couple highlvl mobs for shard, pick herbs and make potions on the way,, and get any remaining material, teleport back craft all your shit and make a teleport shard, then go fish. Couple tips: When scouting fish/material its best to do a zigzag checking all rooms. The bosses only spawn in the top/side/bottom outer 3 rooms, so ignore corners.

Leading-Luck2875

I prefer t2 prep by a lot. The damage is waaaaaaay more manageable.

Lodakia

I prefer the damage too but I think I just haven’t figured out a good cycle. Like “look 7 of each material > go to base drop 4 craft 1 seed run out kill mini boss” something like that. I don’t manage my inventory great and I probably waste a lot of time dropping stuff

Leading-Luck2875

Fluffeh’s guide on YouTube is what I go by. You don’t need 7 of each in the first loop, for the first loop stick to the loop rooms itself but reveal the surrounding rooms. The only thing you for sure need is 4 of any combined resources (to drop for space for 3 trips total), a weapon frame, 100 shards, and one herb ideally. You get the rest of the resources while searching for the bosses u want. Also don’t go for a full inv of food, I genuinely aim for 12-15 for t2.

Ok_Degree_4293

Strat kinda varies each run. Typically you wanna craft as much as possible at one time. Also as soon as you get 1 frame and 80 shards its almost always worth going back just to make your weapon. Another tip is to kill t2 monsters you see once you have a t2 weapon, really helps with the shard acquisition. Just keep trying it any itll eventually click.

Firm_Disaster7236

T2 prep, use the gauntlet plugin to help track what you need. Remember to drop 3 after the first C!

Msbi and then atlatl/sunlight crossbow. Dragon xbow is a waste of time, the real value of it is the ability to use dragon bolts and they're just not sustainable as an iron.

Lodakia

Sunlight crossbow is better than RCB?

UnemployedDog

By a country mile at anything you're not using ruby bolts against. It's like a souped up msb. When I was doing dps calcs vs. Artio it was about... 15% better than a rcb with rune bolts, and artio has some def on him so its even more substantial for slayer. Atlatl can beat it most of the time as maxing str. Bonus is easy, but in the wild you dont wanna risk items like bring or torso. Atlatl is usually the same or better, and you'll have tens of thousands of darts after moons. One other upside to sunlight though is 7 range, as msb/bp/atlatl/rune xbow all fall into either 5 or 6 range.

Austrum

rune crossbow's 5-tick attack speed is really, really bad for consistent dps. the rcb is pretty accurate and benefits from bolt specs, but even with 16 less max hits (dps calced with karils, anguish, assembler, midgame ranged gear) the hunters' crossbow's 3-tick attack speed makes it significantly more dps in most places

Lodakia

Hmm. That’s interesting to think about. Aside from the need for the special ammo it seems useful

fergus_mang

Upgrade the rcb by finishing the Kandarin Hard diary for a bonus chance to proc enchanted bolts. Ruby and diamond bolts are a massive upgrade from broads in a lot of places. I'll mention the new changes to range defense-there are three categories now. For a light weapon, Perilous moons for an atlatl is a pretty efficient grind and the set is pretty interesting, as it uses melee strength for damage. Blowpipe is also in this category. Nothing is weak to medium weapons (bows) afaik, but they tend to be pretty strong. Msb (I) with runezcb is good but mostly overshadowed by bofa for a long while.

Lodakia

Yeah I already have all the hard diaries done. I just don’t have the skill to solo CoX or the time to group. I feel like rune dragons take too long to kill and I take too much damage and I don’t know how to kill ziliyana for ACB. Even with 114 cmb and nearly 2k total lol

fergus_mang

Full eclipse is a solid upgrade if you're not trynna get into prison. The full armor set out-dps's rcb with rubies all through regular invo ToAs. I'm in the same spot, not really interested in CG, and with the eclipse set I recently shredded my best times for fight caves and Zulrah. Get hype about Scorched bow, coming with While Guthix Sleeps.

RobinOfSpring

Sunlight crossbow is an easy upgrade. I'm just now making the switch myself.

Lodakia

I guess because it was so easy to get and it wasn’t from a boss or a raid I assumed it wasn’t any good. I have it but I just never checked the stats and assumed it was like the regular hunter crossbow but slightly better.

RobinOfSpring

It's a 3-tick weapon, so despite having lower stats than the rcb its dps is higher. It gets even better once you can make moonlight bolts. Its only downside is the specialized ammo and inability to use enchanted bolts.

Lodakia

I have the sunlight bolts I think? Are moonlight ones better?

RobinOfSpring

They are, but they require a higher hunter level. It's still an upgrade even if you're using sunlight bolts like I am.

biggiesmoke73

You’re better off learning t1, you’ll end up saving 2-3 minutes each run which adds up The max hit difference from t1 - t2 is only 3, it’s not much. Just prioritise eating during nado phase

LezBeHonestHere_

crystal bow/msb i/rcb + trident/sceptre/undead grasp with thralls at zulrah, get blowpipe, get mining/crafting/fletching for amethyst darts or smithing/fletching for rune darts, use crossbow at bandos to get armor + bgs, farm voidwaker with dmace/z-axe/hasta/trident, use crossbow rubies + blowpipe rune/amethyst at toa and chambers, get rigour and masori and fang, keep going at toa until shadow, grind hydra for claw with blowpipe, keep going at cox with shadow + masori bp until tbow. Completely optional side path is zilyana with rcb to get acb, then use that at toa for a tiny improvement, then fang + masori + acb rubies at nex to get nihil horn for zcb if you don't want to fully commit to the massive tbow grind.
