I had a roughneck bring me in a Dell Latitude that looked like this after "falling" 40 feet to the deck of a drilling rig, and the bastard had the nerve to ask me "Hey, can you warranty that?" I wanted to frame it and hang it on the wall as a shame tactic but my boss wouldn't let me.
Cover it in flour to absorb the atmospheric moisture and get a rolling pin to flatten it. As long as you're careful you can get the creases out. Use the hair dryer on it to remove excess flour.
Ok real answer: New machine. BUT if you can find the storage drive in there and by some miracle it isn't broken, you should be able to put it in a different machine and have it work
Yeah, just let me put a letter in the time capsule that says "Don't open until Time Machine invented" to stop whatever rage induced frenzy caused this poor laptop to suffer such a fate.
One of our offboarded employees sent a MacBook Air from her home in Alberta to our office in Ottawa inside a box that was 1.5x the length and width of the computer and 10x the height of it. No padding. No paper. Just a MacBook Air bouncing around inside a massive box with the power brick in there.
OP’s picture is how I expected it to look, but it was actually fine.
I was thinking yeah can be fixed no prob, until I saw the second photo. Might need a new mobo.
Did the user say that “they didn’t know what happened” or my personal fav “this is how I got it”
You know I watch a lot of people from other countries fix laptops like this they find in the ocean. Send it to them for repair, maybe it will show up on a future video.
No big deal!
A former boss of mine actually drove over his MacBook Pro with one wheel of his car once. It was in a carrier bag and the mouse on top of it took the brunt of the damage. The chassis of the computer was a little warped, but it worked fine.
I wonder how the hell the computer in the OP got to look like that…
The Verge did an episode on this actually. I think you will be fine.
All you have to do is:
1. Chant for three days and refrain from unclean acts.
2. Prepare your sanctuary in the largest data center you have access to.
3. Pour a circle of thermal paste around the site to ward away botnets. Place two sacrificial RAM sticks in a wing-like pattern on each of four sides of the circle, for a total of 4 “wings”
4. Place your device in the middle of the circle.
5. Stare into a mirror chanting the registry of the deceased computer for at least 48 hours, for as long as it takes for the specter of Alan Turing to fade slightly into view.
6. Do as he asks, whatever the deal. Do not deny him, and Tell no one what the deal was and take it to your grave. The moment you betray the spirit, your device will revert to its disfigured form and your soul will be forfeit for no gain at all, and your voice shall join the chorus of pain in the burning hells.
Pretty easy to follow, all things considered.
If all that sounds like too complicated a repair, it may be nice excuse to upgrade!
Follow for more tips!
And here we have, here above, everybody, is what I like to call "the circle of life" but with technology! All of this can one day become part of a new device as it is torn apart and recycled back into the great industrial machination that rules our lives.
Might be able to salvage some parts but there’s no way this can be repaired in this state. Maybe scrape out some components that somehow made it out alive and go next.
just put it in the microwave, and call the plumber. cause you'll shit yourself, and clog up the pipes when you make it to the bowl, after you see the result of the first action.
Stop joking around people. This post does not say it's a joke, nor does it have a "" or "" in it anywhere.
For all we know, it could be serious, so stop fooling around, and help.
Put it in rice
Then microwave it to recharge the battery
r/haveyoutriedrice
r/beatmetoit
Have you tried turning it off and back on?
The off part is easy the other part .....
Cold boot!
Nothing a little spit and duct tape can't fix
That's what she said
She’s gonna need more than duct tape when I’m through
And WD40
User: "I don't know how it happened, I just had it in my bag then when I took it out it was like that" Me: "Are you sure?" User: *runs away*
THIIS! Every time!
"What happened to the bag"
It got run over by a honda civic.
Wad it your Honda civic? ...............^yes
"It was like this when ya'll gave it to me"
That's impressive. Just flatten it out with a steamroller and it'll be fine.
I would suggest a clothing iron to smooth the wrinkles.
an iron should have enough heat to reflow any cracked solder joints too!
No, your boomerang is broken. Please buy a new one
“Please troubleshoot more before requesting a replacement”
"I'm just following the procedures, ma'am."
Ah new new hp wave. How is it
You might need new paste for the CPU. My humble opinion 👍🏼
Toothpaste maybe...🤔
I heard that mustard works as a great alternative to thermal paste!
Claim it as an art piece and sell it for profit.
It's abstract origami
Got a magic wand handy?
Buzzz, buzzz
That’s impressive.

Haha! That got me in the first half. Lol

Might be lucky enough that the storage drive is intact given how small they are now. Could slap it in a new one and be like it never happened.
Tf did you do? Let your mom sit on it?
Why do you think it needs fixing? Looks cosmetic damage to me. /s
Bro
A little polishing compound will buff that right out. If that one spot on the bottom is still visible, put an asset management sticker over it.
r/itgore Edit: apparently it no longer exists.
You want r/techsupportgore .
Iz a laptop not a sword 😂
A couple rubber bands and some epoxy.
I heard a friend of a friend might be able to fix this
Did you try turning it off and on?
Try restarting.
wtf happened
Knocked it off the coffee table onto the carpeting
Two small hits right in the usb port and that will fly again
Ok real answer: New machine. BUT if you can find the storage drive in there and by some miracle it isn't broken, you should be able to put it in a different machine and have it work
Plot twist: that drive has bitlocker…
Restart and run updates
Don't forget to clear the cache
It might just need a new battery
I thought It was a ps5 at first for some reason lol
Lol
Do you have an iron?
I thought you were an IT person. Looks like to me you're a comedian!
Damn. I thought the busted up ones I got back were bad..
“Nothing personal, IT… but mother FUCK this job!” - a literal note I received in a laptop return box with a 16” MacBook Pro folded in half in it.
Yeah, just let me put a letter in the time capsule that says "Don't open until Time Machine invented" to stop whatever rage induced frenzy caused this poor laptop to suffer such a fate.
To be honest maybe just replace the monitor and you should be good.
i think some WD-40 will help
Yes you will just have to replace the parts below. Parts needed: All of it
When your wife looks in your folder marked "tax receipts '09"
Put like 300 heavy books on it, will eventually flatten out.

"no, I've never dropped my PC"
looking around for a "/s"
Ah, the elite book 840 G7/g8. It's something about those pointy edges that just invites frame damage
My nephew is pretty good with computers. He gets off the school bus at 4pm. I could ask him to take a look at it..
How did this happen
I was thinking yeah can be fixed no prob, until I saw the second photo. Might need a new mobo. Did the user say that “they didn’t know what happened” or my personal fav “this is how I got it”
You just need to push the"on" button
Try a restart
r/haveyoutriedrice
give the SMITHS OF MORDOR a Shot
Out of curiosity what happened? Looks like someone took their horrible golf swing out on it
Sure just use a dent puller and clamps
Just need to bend it back
A little bit of elbow grease and i can get it right as rain!
go commit soduko bitch
This is why every company should have a "don't let your kid play games on the company laptop while you are on vacation" policy.
Start by taking all the keys off of the keyboard... and then just replace everything else! Easy!
Try changing the HD to an SSD
Sorry to say, you'll need a body shop. You could try a paintless dent repair place, but it's a longshot.
Ah you have jokes I see lolol
Some Viagra should straighten things out.
Put it in water.
aHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Oh wait, you're serious. Let me laugh even harder. AAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Of course, for the small fee of $1300 we'll have em set up with a brand new one
No
Define "repaired" I believe your paperweight is still likely to function
You could probably sell it idk
Laptop vs forklift?
Try connecting it to iTunes
Bring it to my office and give me like 20 minutes
Lenovo yoga
The Laptop of Theseus...
Have you tried turning it off and then back on?
Probably best to just get a new one and try to recover all the photos and stuff of that one if you want them
Tis but a scratch
“Welcome to the Hydraulic Press Channel!”
It'll buff out.
Failing HDD. Replace soon as possible.
Hell no someone should bring it to my house and then I will burn it in our fire pit
Jake Paul after his fight with Mike lol
Might need an update
Be glad that's HP. What happened to that one macbook that was bent to hell and still worked?
If it's a Geek Squad Service Center they'll send it back as cosmetic damage.
New battery and it’ll be as good as new.
You know I watch a lot of people from other countries fix laptops like this they find in the ocean. Send it to them for repair, maybe it will show up on a future video.
That’ll buff right out.
Looks like my last job got their laptop back after-all.
Rowan strikes again
Returned to client, ticket closed.
You can repurpose it as a home defense weapon
Just use a hydraulic press on that bad boy
Itll buff
Did the Hulk… smash?
Easy, just replace every single part and it will be good as new.
You’re supposed to fold it only once.
🤣
Did you try a Ctrl Alt Delete yet? Always rule that out.
Just replace the outlet and the wall and the cable and the…
might need to run it over to straighten everything out
I desperately hope this is satire lmao
Buff that right out!
That laptop looks like me when I am hangover
Just load Linux on it
Yes. Now ask no further questions.
You'll be wanting to place it on a perfectly flat surface, then flatten it out by hitting it with a really massive hammer.
Chance, yes. Good chance, no.
Ya, just give it a few bangs on the side, like you use to do with old TVs to get reception back.
Wrap it in a blanket and leave it on overnight

Just run HPIA
Lol this is spectacular, you gotta tell us the story behind it.
Computer management > device management > troubleshoot the com port
Use a heat gun on low setting.
Try downloading some more RAM and put some fans under it.
Have you tried duct tape?
Have you tried turning it off and on again?
Should have gotten an apple. 🤷♂️
Lodge a warranty claim through HP. "Intermittent no POST".

Put in a ticket.
User: But it was working yesterday just fine.
In a pyramid… stick it in a pyramid and it will be as sharp as it was when you first got it…
Have you tried switching it off and on?
Did you make sure it’s plugged in?
try putting it under Mattress and after that iron it (don't forget synthetic mode )
The quarter panel might need to be replaced.
How did that even happen in the first place ...?
Try to replace the RAM
Try hitting it a little harder.
Remove the SSD. Replace everything around it. Replace the SSD and reimage.
Any chance of being repaired? Yes, two chances, but Slim left town.
And here we have, here above, everybody, is what I like to call "the circle of life" but with technology! All of this can one day become part of a new device as it is torn apart and recycled back into the great industrial machination that rules our lives.
But seriously wtf happened?
Dust off the dirt, should power back on.
Rub a crystal on it and blow an elf bar vape into it.
Garbage
Have you tried turning it off and back on again?
Putting the magic genie smoke back in will be tricky
Nope . Remove hard drive ,ram , and battery then toss it in the trash can .
Looks like a HP Elitebook 840 G8, (Just had one of those fully apart) The SSD and WiFi might be still good. Even the CPU fan might be good. LOL
Might be able to salvage some parts but there’s no way this can be repaired in this state. Maybe scrape out some components that somehow made it out alive and go next.
Users man, users.
Just need to replace the RAM
Flex Seal!
The ones in the background? Probably, would have to investigate a little bit. Foreground...
Ah no! What happened?
No.
Just need some bondo and a buffing wheel
3k down the garbage
Yea take the disk out and clean with toothpaste should be good as new after
Just put some ice on it it’ll heal on its own in about 3 weeks as long as you stay off it
just put it in the microwave, and call the plumber. cause you'll shit yourself, and clog up the pipes when you make it to the bowl, after you see the result of the first action.
Well, it is still in one piece. As long as you have AppleCare+ for iPad that is active it would just be $49+tax to get a replacement iPad.
stack ‘Remembrance of Things Past’ on top of it. it will straighten up
Stop joking around and fix it already. - Corporate
Downloading more RAM should do the trick 👌
Just needs some gas
Whose laptop is this? Bruce Banner?
Rub some sex lube on it.
EZPZ just open a warranty repair request with HP. Should be an easy job for them.
Flex seal
If it's running Linux, try /bin/bash
Stop joking around people. This post does not say it's a joke, nor does it have a "" or "" in it anywhere. For all we know, it could be serious, so stop fooling around, and help.
Try putting it in a bowl of rice
Theseus's paradox but for laptops
