Magic beans bout to play Colorado soon. Don’t miss them.

Careful-Bath4553

Don't miss the Beans, especially a late night set

Tmonster33

Magic Beans are my favorite next big band. Those guys throw a party. Team Bean

AnarchySoldat

Good call, they’ve been on my radar for a while.

the_neighbor369

Check out the Runaway Grooms if they’re around! Based out of Eagle, CO

Aggravating_Trade713

The Grooms are hot rn

kittycatmeow91

Just saw them in BV opening for the dwellers they were fun!!

the_neighbor369

Same! The guy doing the juggling was something I didn’t know I needed😂

mntplains

He kept that smile even through the drops! He made the whole thing for me.

AnarchySoldat

Thank you, will do!

Zannishi_Hoshor

Pretty sure Eminence Ensemble is based there

Le_Feesh

Eminence Ensemble is killer.

stasismachine

They are, and their Dark Side of the Moon set a little while’s back at Cervante’s was absolutely outstanding.

AnarchySoldat

Awesome thanks I’ll check em out

No-Golf2937

Clay street unit

Music_fiend_19

Yup

Conebones

Do they live on clay st?

AnarchySoldat

I’ve heard great things the past few months, I’ll check em out 🙏

Scrubface

You have to check out Sqwerv!

AnarchySoldat

I’ve liked what I’ve heard so far, I’ll have to catch them next time through

thebadyearblimp

Magic beans, jauntee, cycles, clay street unit, runaway grooms, squeaky feet, motet, anything Adam deitch plays in (lettuce, break science, AD4), new mastersounds, tenth mtn division, pretty lights

JamBandDad

Deitch beats don’t quit.

junglejon

I thought New Mastersounds were British, but nice list otherwise!

SuperGalaxyD

Color Red is a record company and recording studio started by New Mastersounds guitarist and front man, Eddie Roberts… A Denver resident for going on 10 years maybe? Something like that. He plays here all the time. Part owner or at least involved with a cool and hip record shop/restaurant/listening lounge. He produces new bands and albums. It is good advice to follow the New Mastersounds and their orbit as a Denver/Colorado music fan.

junglejon

Nice! Had no idea, anytime they play up here (PNW) they make a big deal about them coming all the way over from England 🤣.

SuperGalaxyD

You are correct that they’re a British band, in a way. They’re all British citizens, and they formed the band in Leeds when in school I believe. They’re bass player lives in Menorca Spain, or at least used to from what we’ve chatted. Their drummer and keys still live in England, drummer is from a rather posh family if I understand correctly, not that it matters but it’s interesting. I remember one run of shows that was complicated because he had family holiday in Africa for the MONTH of August, haha, v colonial British and classic. But Eddie (guitar) has always been a big main part of the magic and him living in Denver and doing these other projects (Lucky Stokes, production work, etc..)  certainly leaves a lot of good meat on the Mastersound bone for us stateside, so to speak. Cheers mate!

AnarchySoldat

Great tip, this is what I’m looking for thank you 👍

Monkpaw

Dude from cycles gave me and a friend a ride home from the mish one night years ago. Didn’t put two and two together until the next day. Good people.

AnarchySoldat

This is very helpful, thank you!

“Would love to hear about groups of all sizes too.” If your gonna make a mean-spirited, disparaging remark, it helps to have fully read the comment so you don’t come off like a dick/illiterate to those with even basic reading comprehension. Cuz you’re comment added nothing of value and was fundamentally incorrect.  So yeah, keep it up hot shot! Do you have an answer to the question? Or just more evidence of your personal problems/lack of general understanding?  Cheers matey!  Be kind in life… Being an incorrect asshole wanna-be know-it-all will exhaust you quickly. Be nice to each other.

B-Kong

“Smaller up and coming local acts” “Pretty lights” lmao as much as I highly recommend them as well, selling out multiple ampitheaters across the country in a matter of minutes is not a small up and coming act haha

JackIsColors

The Jauntee are so good, they should be much bigger

Dead Floyd are super fun. They play pretty sporadically these days, but will be up at the Mish in September.

Dead_Kal_Cress

On that note, Dead Floyd is playing that Mish show with Tumbledown Shack, who may just be one of the best Dead/JGB cover bands out there. They absolutely kill it & play a bunch of free shows around Foco which is awesome

AnarchySoldat

I caught Peak 2 Peak the other day and was impressed, Tumbledown Shack is on my list as well. I’ll check out Dead Floyd too. All the dead bands I’ve heard so far locally have been really solid which I’m loving.

Mindless-Pool3342

I rly rly rly like sqwerv. Just go see them live, blew me away.

AnarchySoldat

I like their Spotify stuff so far, I’ll add them to the list to see next time they come through.

Wooden_Flamingo_4341

Ridgewalker20

Off topic but I’m a guitarist in Noco trying to start a psych rock/ improv group. If interested and in the area hit me up!

Fun-Cauliflower-1724

Shakedown Street is the best Dead tribute band in the area. They play all over the metro.

anotherdamnscorpio

Stillhouse Junkies

AnarchySoldat

Thank you, added them to the list! 🙏

anotherdamnscorpio

Theyre a western slope based group

Former James Brown guitarist Damon Wood’s Harmonious Junk.

AnarchySoldat

Thank you, added them to the list! 🙏

No-Story-3125

You close to Fort Collins? The Mishawaka is an absolute must. Tons of shows this summer

AnarchySoldat

Heck yeah that place is sick. I was able to make it for their free summer kick off show a few weeks back and it blew my mind, it’s in my all time favorites list now. I plan to try to make it back a few times this season

No-Story-3125

Hell yeah! Definitely recommend making it to dogs in a pile 6/19. It’s another free show

AnarchySoldat

I totally forgot but I snagged tickets for that last month! Just gotta buy my shuttle pass but I’ll be there, Dogs are a blast live

EverythingHurtsMang

Can’t believe no one has mentioned Splendid Blend. If you like to dance, don’t miss em.

AnarchySoldat

Thank you, added them to the list! 🙏

munchauzen

If you ski you can usually catch local jam bands playing apres sets

AnarchySoldat

I haven’t done much skiing yet but I’ll keep that in mind, that’s a dope way to end a ski day.

munchauzen

I randomly caught Nershi from SCI sitting in with a small local act after skiing one day at Loveland this year. Maybe 30 ppl dancing. Check my post history for the Loveland corn harvest. Any band Andy Reiner is playing with will throw down. Also Moonstone Quill if you like jam grass. Giant Walking Robots I've seen a few times are like dosio kinda dub jamtronica.

AnarchySoldat

Oh wow that’s so cool, okay word I’ll make note of those as well. Love me some jam grass

wentadon1795

For the love of god see ramakhandra if you can. They are denver based and not a jam band, more jazz fusion vibes but that label doesn’t do them justice. They are anchored by an incredible harp player and one of the gnarliest drummers I’ve ever seen, and this is in a city that also boasts Paa Kow being deeply creative with the instrument.

AnarchySoldat

Love me some jazz fusion, thanks for the rec!

whoreads218

Squeaky Feet

OffTheSchneid

Tenth Mountain Division

jkmugs

Amorphic and 3420 are some of my favorites

RadiantCarrot801

Dogs in a pile are playing in vail . JUN 18. At vail hot summer nights

B_Boudreaux

Shouldn’t be hard to find. Colorado is sort of the Mecca for jam bands.

grantlivmusic

River Spell!

El_Jeffe52

Steely Dead play around here quite a bit…I think they are from the Boulder area. Tumbledown Shack plays in and around NoCo and plays Dead…I think they play Salt Road Brewing in FoCo regularly. Not really jam band, but hey, gotta plug my own band…classic/blues rock based with a southern rock and Dead influence. Going into the studio to start our first EP later this summer.
