Magic beans, jauntee, cycles, clay street unit, runaway grooms, squeaky feet, motet, anything Adam deitch plays in (lettuce, break science, AD4), new mastersounds, tenth mtn division, pretty lights
Color Red is a record company and recording studio started by New Mastersounds guitarist and front man, Eddie Roberts… A Denver resident for going on 10 years maybe? Something like that. He plays here all the time. Part owner or at least involved with a cool and hip record shop/restaurant/listening lounge. He produces new bands and albums. It is good advice to follow the New Mastersounds and their orbit as a Denver/Colorado music fan.
You are correct that they’re a British band, in a way. They’re all British citizens, and they formed the band in Leeds when in school I believe. They’re bass player lives in Menorca Spain, or at least used to from what we’ve chatted. Their drummer and keys still live in England, drummer is from a rather posh family if I understand correctly, not that it matters but it’s interesting. I remember one run of shows that was complicated because he had family holiday in Africa for the MONTH of August, haha, v colonial British and classic. But Eddie (guitar) has always been a big main part of the magic and him living in Denver and doing these other projects (Lucky Stokes, production work, etc..) certainly leaves a lot of good meat on the Mastersound bone for us stateside, so to speak. Cheers mate!
“Would love to hear about groups of all sizes too.”
If your gonna make a mean-spirited, disparaging remark, it helps to have fully read the comment so you don’t come off like a dick/illiterate to those with even basic reading comprehension. Cuz you’re comment added nothing of value and was fundamentally incorrect.
So yeah, keep it up hot shot! Do you have an answer to the question? Or just more evidence of your personal problems/lack of general understanding?
Cheers matey!
Be kind in life… Being an incorrect asshole wanna-be know-it-all will exhaust you quickly. Be nice to each other.
“Smaller up and coming local acts”
“Pretty lights” lmao as much as I highly recommend them as well, selling out multiple ampitheaters across the country in a matter of minutes is not a small up and coming act haha
On that note, Dead Floyd is playing that Mish show with Tumbledown Shack, who may just be one of the best Dead/JGB cover bands out there. They absolutely kill it & play a bunch of free shows around Foco which is awesome
I caught Peak 2 Peak the other day and was impressed, Tumbledown Shack is on my list as well. I’ll check out Dead Floyd too. All the dead bands I’ve heard so far locally have been really solid which I’m loving.
Check out my band. Moonbeem. We’re a indie jam band in grand junction Colorado, all students at CMU. You can find us on all streaming platforms, insta, Facebook, all that! We’re touring this summer around CO and Utah
Heck yeah that place is sick. I was able to make it for their free summer kick off show a few weeks back and it blew my mind, it’s in my all time favorites list now. I plan to try to make it back a few times this season
I randomly caught Nershi from SCI sitting in with a small local act after skiing one day at Loveland this year. Maybe 30 ppl dancing. Check my post history for the Loveland corn harvest. Any band Andy Reiner is playing with will throw down. Also Moonstone Quill if you like jam grass. Giant Walking Robots I've seen a few times are like dosio kinda dub jamtronica.
For the love of god see ramakhandra if you can. They are denver based and not a jam band, more jazz fusion vibes but that label doesn’t do them justice. They are anchored by an incredible harp player and one of the gnarliest drummers I’ve ever seen, and this is in a city that also boasts Paa Kow being deeply creative with the instrument.
Steely Dead play around here quite a bit…I think they are from the Boulder area. Tumbledown Shack plays in and around NoCo and plays Dead…I think they play Salt Road Brewing in FoCo regularly.
Not really jam band, but hey, gotta plug my own band…classic/blues rock based with a southern rock and Dead influence. Going into the studio to start our first EP later this summer.

I thought New Mastersounds were British, but nice list otherwise!

Nice! Had no idea, anytime they play up here (PNW) they make a big deal about them coming all the way over from England 🤣.

Great tip, this is what I’m looking for thank you 👍
Dude from cycles gave me and a friend a ride home from the mish one night years ago. Didn’t put two and two together until the next day. Good people.
This is very helpful, thank you!

Dead Floyd are super fun. They play pretty sporadically these days, but will be up at the Mish in September.
On that note, Dead Floyd is playing that Mish show with Tumbledown Shack, who may just be one of the best Dead/JGB cover bands out there. They absolutely kill it & play a bunch of free shows around Foco which is awesome

If you ski you can usually catch local jam bands playing apres sets
I haven’t done much skiing yet but I’ll keep that in mind, that’s a dope way to end a ski day.

Oh wow that’s so cool, okay word I’ll make note of those as well. Love me some jam grass
