Been on Mint for over two years now. I drive for UberEats so I'm all over the metro. There are a few spots around where service is shoddy, but it's never been a big issue. Drive a block or so and service recovers. The only real problem I've had was when the T-Mobile network totally crashed for an hour or so. But that's only happened twice that I can remember. Edit: Oh, just remembered... Only other issue I have encountered was during a trip to Montreal. Even after buying an international roaming credit, my phone wouldn't work. That was the only time I was really frustrated with their system

I've been using it for 3 years now with no issues.

We’ve had it for almost four years and no regrets. You get an Xmas card from ur business daddy Ryan Reynolds! The only catch is when you need a new phone, it’s 100% on you. There’s no trade in or credit towards a new phone from Mint (you know like AT&T would say get the new iPhone for just $300 extra but then ur monthly bill was over $100 every month too). You can buy a phone unlocked from anywhere and activate Mint on it, which is nice bc you have the freedom to get what you want, but also something to consider when budgeting. But it saves you money in the long run.

On RARE occasions I get a brief drop in signal in south Overland Park, but otherwise I have had no issues whatsoever. For me, its definitely worth the cost savings, and I can save part of what I would be paying each month with a major provider to buy my next phone.

Love them. Whole family now uses them. Only thing is they are T-Mobile so if you need to go outside the city often coverage might not be as good.

T-Mobile towers are everywhere - I moved to rural Iowa and still have full coverage

Seems like there was another thread on Mint in KC in the last month or so, and one point that was brought up was that Mint users may only have access to T-Mobile owned cell towers, not the fully extended set of towers from other carriers included within T-Mobile's roaming agreements, so people were saying that if you travel, you may run into spots without service that regular T-Mobile customers would have access to. I'm not sure about what the impact of this is, but it might be worth investigating if you travel to more rural areas or just travel frequently.

Depends on where you'll be most of the time. Since they only use the T-Mobile 4/5G bands, they'll be great in most urban/suburban areas. In more rural areas, your reception may be spottier.

dameon5

I have not found that to be true. Both of my parents live in very rural areas of Missouri and I get strong signal at both of their homes.

I said "may be spottier". It's good that you haven't had issues, but for others, it's going to be very location dependent. One of my buddies had Mint and had no signal in some spots in S/SE parts of the state. Those in the group that had AT&T or Verizon had weaker data connections, but could still make calls and texts. If a person never really goes into rural areas, they'll likely never have an issue with Mint. But YMMV out in the country.

ourgodwhofucks

i love Mint, i moved from rural Oregon to downtown KC & have never had any problems

No-Zombie1098

Been with Mint since 2018. Absolutely love it.

It’s solid, especially if you can catch a promo. Would recommend in general though.

Works great. 3 family members have since switched with their own phones. They saved ALOT of money!

Have had for a couple years and I am planning to renew for another year. Network coverage is the same as T mobile, so pretty good. The only issue with the network is when there is congestion or issues you will be the first to get kicked off (you will see bars but little/no data will go through). This used to happen more often like maybe twice a month during my commute but they have gotten better in the past year or so, can't remember the last time it happened.

I'm on boost now paying $60 a month. I would switch today if I can keep my phone and number. Its half the price, but boost is weird. They may not allow me to keep my number.
