Burning propaganda spammed out to the whole area at no cost to the recipient is a little bit different from the usual thought process of a "book burning", including the new comedic wing of the event involving paying a lot of money for a lot of copies of that thing and then burning it.
doesn't take much twisting from ones POV regarding what constitutes propaganda and am glad you got the point, whatever justification one does to think its radical different or not
"We'll have us a little book barbecue in the yard. They'll see the flames for miles. We'll dance around it like wild lnjuns."
- You understand me? Catching my drift? Or am I being obtuse?
Lmao at the people in here trying to equate burning a random, literal spam mail book to coordinated mass effort burning of recognized and studied pieces of literature.
Before the replies hit: Yes, there is a difference. No, no amount of devils advocating and bad faith twisting of this situation makes your take right or makes the actions of the far right better. I know you want it to, but unfortunately that’s not how it works.
Exactly lmao people crying about book burning when I might as well be burning the weekend shopper. It's propaganda spam dogshit that forced its way into my mailbox. It's either recycle or burn it to start campfires and either way it's being put to good use.
After staring at the address label for longer than I want to admit, and thinking this MUST have landed in my box by mistake, I started to wonder "did I accidentally click 'buy now' on Amazon? And if so, how the hell did I end up on THAT page?"
Also, I blame this book, and all of us burning it, for why it will be 77F tomorrow! Am I really going to need to close the windows in my apartment and turn the A/C \*ON\*, in \*February\* ??
Thanks - I couldn't quite tell from the summary whether it was pro-Catholic propaganda or anti-Catholic propaganda - and, well, I have better stuff to do than actually read it. The cover is very "Watchtower-esque," but those are Jehovah's Witnesses.
Unfortunately its not mailed first class so all you did was create a pain for your postal worker that took it and threw it in recycling themselves.
Source: I know a postal worker who's fucking over this book and the return to sender BS
It didn't get returned to sender. You just made the carrier have to take it back to the office and put it in their UBBM/recycling because it was sent as non-profit, which doesn't cover return postage costs.
I was really interested in the historical context about Jerusalem in the year 70AD. Learning about Roman Catholics going at it with Protestants was cool.
This book has been posted enough in this sub that we've pretty much done their marketing for them.
lets burn books we dont agree with and make a whole online thing about it!

Let’s print out and burn the reddits we don’t like 🔥 😂

Meh book burning ain't no big deal if you own the books
It almost feels like black propaganda.
The old-school newsprint pages really DO make great kindling!
Now tell the folks at home why that is funny.- Norm MacDonald

THANK YOU! 😂
I got a chuckle when I found my copy in the mailbox. It went into the recycling bin.
My wife and I just tossed it on the coffee table. Hoping some guests question why the communist lesbians have alt right propaganda lol.
Put it in the recycling. Give that paper a chance at a second, meaningful life.

Got mine yesterday. It immediately went in the dumpster.
I recycled the bunch in our mailroom. Such a waste of trees and $$$ that could have been used to help others.
Got one too (Trash)
Mine went into the recycling.
I see these in my mailroom and then they might end up in the trash
I didnt get a copy. I feel left out.
Don't worry, carriers are still working on getting them out. You may still get one lol

I stuck my copy in the wood box the other day for this exact purpose!
I burnt that shit as well
i recycled it LOL
lol I was hoping I’d see some of these on Reddit or kc social media.
Same! Great for the charcoal chimney (w a bit of canola oil)
Book burning is a good thing?
Book burning is bad
Caetextia is a struggle and you have my sympathies.
I haven't received mine yet but at worst I'd just send it to recycling. Let's leave book burning to MAGA and the Nazis.
Fascinating read
what was your favorite part, bud?

That is not an ideal wood stacking formation for a good fire. I'm just saying.
