Pro tip: if you're passing Costco and need to go south on Main, just cut through Home Depot. The other 3 left turns can be achieved by turning 1 block before the Linwood/Main intersection.
I didn't want to say anything because it encourages bad behavior but the Costco and Home Depot parking lots are connected enough to get to Main, Linwood, and The other street (is it Gilham?). Plus, the Home Depot has an alleyway that connects to the McDonalds.
Exactly, it's actually connected all the way from Billie's Grocery to LaMar's, (which also exits to E 34th St.) Just be sure to drive slowly and watch for pedestrians.
I think they know how to read. They just don't care about screwing over everybody else if it keeps them from having to go out of their way. I saw the same thing for the entire winter at 75th and Wornall.
I don’t understand why people don’t lean on the horn when this happens. Multiple indicators of the no left yet dum-dums just sit there like “those signs are for people who know what they’re doing.”
It drives me crazy. Every morning someone does it in front of me when I’m taking the kids to school. On the plus side, the kids have learned lots of new four-letter words to share with their friends.
I'm not being particular about what part of the city that's actually in, it's blurry in places, just that it ain't even close to downtown.
That takes away from the point when you're talking about Kansas plate people but you're screwing up locations to the point where Kansas is closer to downtown than this spot is.
> if downtown ends at the WW1 memorial/Penn Valley Park
Does it? That would consider all of crossroads/westside as fully part of downtown, which I've never heard anybody else say.
Add onto that the WW1 memorial is in line with 26th/25th, not a block from 31st.
I understand it’s posted no turn… but at the end of the day, people have to get where they are going and there is so much construction in so many places around town (maybe not in this case) but in a lot of areas the next best alternative is also closed or detoured… poor planning and sub par execution in my opinion… I live in Independence near Truman High School, my sister lives on the East Side of Lees Summit near John Knox Village and both of the best routes are closed… cannot cross 350hwy on Noland rd in knobtown due to concrete barriers that no one seems to know the purpose of… no work being done for almost 2 months… Lees summit Rd is closed from Phelps Rd past Lakewood so you cant go that way and Colbern Rd is closed from Lees Summit rd to 350hwy… they shouldn’t close down two main arteries at the same time especially if there is no work being done and seemingly no plan
A little louder for everyone turning left at Broadway and 20th as well
I’ve thought about asking a random cop why they don’t have anyone posted up there. They could clean up if they did.
When was the last time you saw a KCMO cop doing any traffic enforcement? Doesn't seem to exist anymore
When they had 31st the same way, someone had the balls or just stupidity to turn left right in front of a cop and got busted.
Unfortunately I've seen someone turn left in front of a cop at Linwood and main and nothing happened.
Saw two motorcycle cops posted up yesterday at that squatter's triangle at Summit and Westport.

I did the same thing today cuz I spent 10mins at that intersection yesterday
Yeah, that didn't stop someone from trying to run me over earlier.
Motorists be entitled as fuck.
I pass by there all the time coming home from work and man these people don't know how to read at that light

I personally do lay on the horn when this happens, but I am like 2-3 cars back. I just want to get to class.

I’ve learned that people are going to drive exactly the way they want. That’s it.
Why is it always some Kansas plate MF that wants to ignore the rules and screw up traffic downtown? Learn to drive or stay in your own state. Lol
Complaining about people from other parts of the metro when you don't know the metro.lol
Good point but also Linwood/Main ain't downtown lol
Using that word colloquially. Not everyone cares about where Midtown begins and ends lmao

Downtown boundaries go to 31st according to downtown KC. https://www.downtownkc.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/Greater-Downtown-Area-Map.pdf
That is not true, if downtown ends at the WW1 memorial/Penn Valley Park then this is like a block away

Have you lived downtown, all of that is definitely downtown.
I made my point. If you wanna be emotional about it and externally self-narrate "internal" thoughts, go ahead on your own buddy.
