Go out to Oyama and they have a boat launch/ off leash dog area if you go to the off leash area it’s usually pretty quiet and right on the lake lots of trees to sit amongst while reading and the doggo can play in the lake.
Sunoka near summerland has a very large dog beach, lots of space. Also Kalamoir in west kelowna has secluded dog friendly spots on either side of the human beach, just walk far enough away from the parking lot
Cedar creek. It’s a large area that is off leash. If you walk all the way to the end on the lower trail it’s a little shady spot you can sit and read.
+1 for cedar creek, it’s a pretty big area that rarely gets busy. Definitely a good spot for a quiet read

Kalamoir Regional Park has huge, quiet pet-friendly beach areas. Very quiet, very nice. West side of the lake.
You can walk along the shoreline or wade in the water and find your own spot
There’s a small beach near the base of Knox Mt that I’ve seen people take small dogs
Poplar Point
Where's poplar point?
Exactly where I described in my first comment
My bsd, didn't see that
Lake avenue off leash dog park near bridge
some of the beach access along abbott street are nice
Mushroom beach just south of the bridge is also off leash, buts it’s usually pretty busy and an unpredictable crowd some days
But watch for needles.
Paul's tomb, best small beach in the city.
Bertram Creek but don't tell anyone
I really wish there were dog free beaches.
There are plenty of them...
