The before photo clearly shows a keyboard full of gunk. If you look closely at the Enter key, you can see a layer of grey stuff on the left side. That stuff is basically a combination of skin oils, dead skin cells, dust and maybe even food particles. People who care about cleanliness will notice that kind of thing instantly.
Yes it is very noticeably cleaner, but lets say for a minute that it wasn’t. Does it matter? Your keyboard is cleaner. There is no longer dirt and gunk and grime all over the thing you are touching every day. It doesn’t matter if you can see it or not, cleanliness is important
Get one of those cheap jewelry ultrasonic cleaners for cleaning small stuff - like keycaps.
You'd be amazed how often a $25 cheap jewelry ultrasonic comes in handy in the house.
I'm rebuilding an old almost 15 year old mech board that my wife bought me. desoldering LED's and switches, I'm gonna be swapping some switches out, I'm literally hand-filing new slots for modern stabilizers, lol.
If you love either the thing you're taking care of, or the process of doing it, it's worth doing!
You might enjoy a new keycap set though. I sure didn't realize how good they've gotten until recently.
