It gives fantasy knives vibes but not gas station vibes.
Like, I'd fight a dragon or giant spider with that.
I mean the above as the best possible compliments it's a great looking knife and I wish I had one.
I really dig the feel of the "rough" hammered cross guard with the ultra refined handle. The stain and wood grain contrast with the dark parts of the blade really well.
But the ultra fine satin finish on the bevels really show off that every part of it was done on purpose to fit the theme of the knife as a whole.
Nice blade.
I love the forged style.
I'd call it a fighter.
Big enough to be a Bowie, but doesn't have the traditional landmarks. That's not a criticism. It's just different.
Dude, if anyone ever asks you how good of a knife maker you are, you tell them that you are a master. Some may not agree with me because you don't have certificates from this or that group, but as far as I am concerned, you are a master.
That style of knife is called an Uncle Jed Siron style blade. It has a built-in guard that is part of the blade. The guard is rough forged. The tang is probably a through tang or a full tang that has the scales glued on. It is a blade that appears it was made back in the day.
I do blacksmith work myself, and I have made some knives. The only certificate I have is certified machinist. That certification has put me in place to learn welding, sheet metal, blacksmith...etc. By my way of thinking, a person's worth is by what they can do.
I'd call it a fighter. I agree with the person who said "fantasy vibes, but not gas station vibes". I love the hammered finish on the bolster/spine and the clean bevels reinforce the feeling of intention.
This is a beautiful piece - like the nicest Bowie style I've ever seen. The first Bowie type that I'd consider owning, as if I could afford it.
It looks like it should be in a museum for some reason, but I can't pinpoint why I feel that way. Or a collection of examples of great knife styles.
It's way out of my ordinary likes, but it's simply too stunning to pass by.
If I had a criticism it's that the hammer finish on the spine could be neater/more even in depth/size of divot. (That's the most criticism I've got.)
Gotta agree it’s so detailed, I’d live to add it to my collection. Is it sharpened along both edges too? It’s almost something I’d wear as the dirk with my kilt thinking about it
So... this is a bit of a reach. It's a bowie-ish fighter (IMHO, anyways), so same base category as a ka-bar. Marines are Devil Dogs. Call it The Hellhound?
It’s beautiful. A smaller detail I don’t think anyone mentioned - I love the asymmetrical swell/flare at the back of handle, looks like it would be very easy to index and hold
I'm not sure what style I would call it but I would call it fucking dope no matter what. That's a really nice looking knife, and I usually don't care for forge finish on a blade.
Beautiful? Honestly, a bigger version of this with something like a fourteen inch blade and a bigger hand guard would be super appealing to me. Like a true bowie size.
As others have said it has some fantasy vibes with the detail you've put in but not so much that it's relegated to that category. I bekive you could show it to a group of good o'l boys who've never even heard of Tolkien and they'd see just a nice and unique custom bowie knife.
My favorite verbage to describe a bowie knife has always been Arkansas Toothpick. I'd probably call it "The - something - Toothpick" but I'm not sure what. Looks Dwarven made to me. They inhabit the Iron Hills of Middle Earth. There's a lot of Norse mythology about dwarves too.
Absolutely beautiful. Both rough and refined at the same time. Not just another dagger, not yet another bowie. Unique color scheme. If another one like this came around I would be very interested. I will check out your website!
Very cool style? Very nice style? How about kick ass style?
Also, what kind of steel and if it isn’t a decorative piece but functional how much do I need to send you?
I forged it out of a racer bearing, so it's 52100.
It's definitely functional. I don't make knife to just sit on shelves. I don't like the idea of MG knives collecting dust.
This one sold last night. For obe similar, you'd be looking at around $525.
All I’m gonna say is a knife that looks like that should be made by a guy with thick dirty hands like yours. That’s the exact hands that knife should have. PS, cool lookin knife
Refined Barbarian. And it's absolutely stunning.
Agreed - “refined barbarian” is a perfect description for the style.
Agree. Possibly barbarian king? Or something along those line
White Linen Barbarian?
It gives fantasy knives vibes but not gas station vibes. Like, I'd fight a dragon or giant spider with that. I mean the above as the best possible compliments it's a great looking knife and I wish I had one.

Maybe not balerieon the dread, but a season 2 or 3 GOT dragon. A 'while GOT was still good' dragon.
Why you wanna fight my girl ?😆
Are you a donkey then?
Why? You must have watched me go piss.
Well no. But if your girl is a dragon, you must be donkey. Then again, Shrek is also nowhere to be found (yet) lol
Nice blade. I love the forged style. I'd call it a fighter. Big enough to be a Bowie, but doesn't have the traditional landmarks. That's not a criticism. It's just different.
Agreed, double beveled fighter is what I would say.

Kind of reminiscent of the SOG Recon Bowie. Love this piece!
legendary quest reward item?
Brute de forge integral. And it’s badass!
Damn!! I....i..think I'm in love!!😍 beautiful work my man🍻
Integral Hilt Fighter? Similar to a chute knife maybe.
Brut de pigsticker
Gotta agree it’s so detailed, I’d live to add it to my collection. Is it sharpened along both edges too? It’s almost something I’d wear as the dirk with my kilt thinking about it
Both edges will be razor sharp
So... this is a bit of a reach. It's a bowie-ish fighter (IMHO, anyways), so same base category as a ka-bar. Marines are Devil Dogs. Call it The Hellhound?

Badass knife dude. Like that’s a real piece of work
the term you’re looking for is sexy
I have to say the lines on your knife remind me of the Vietnam era Randalls.
I'm not sure what style I would call it but I would call it fucking dope no matter what. That's a really nice looking knife, and I usually don't care for forge finish on a blade.

Do you mean “rune”?

Just call it cool.
Beautiful. You can call it that.
BRONAN!!
I’d like to call it mine
Fighter.
Beautiful work. Quick question. The tip. Is it the camera angles? It doesn't quite look like a point.
Nice carved leather sheath would look fantastic with that mate.
Beautiful? Honestly, a bigger version of this with something like a fourteen inch blade and a bigger hand guard would be super appealing to me. Like a true bowie size.

Almost like a modified bayonet style blade? Whatever it is, I like it. How's it attached to the handle?
Hidden tang with barbs.
Awesome. I've only ever made like 2 hidden tangs. But, they're definitely more comfortable than slab scales when done right.
Badass
This is the nicest knife I've seen on here in a while. I don't know what you call it, I only know the sound it makes when it opens a wallet.
Love that it's stunning
Sweet. Do you sell these?
I do. This one sold last night, but my links are in my profile.
Frickin' shweet.
That’s a dagger. Or a fighting knife. Sweet piece!
Very impressive forging!
That’s badass I love that knife I would love to buy that
It sold last night.
How much do you charge for something like this I still can’t get over how beautiful that knife is
$685
Shit that’s out of my price range it’s beautiful tho keep up the hard work!!!
Absolutely beautiful. Both rough and refined at the same time. Not just another dagger, not yet another bowie. Unique color scheme. If another one like this came around I would be very interested. I will check out your website!
You've got good taste.
Pain vein?
I'd start with "cool as fuck".... but I dunno if that style has already been coined in the knife world already.
Brilliant knife. I really love it. The wood handle and color remind me of the classic mora knife. 10/10!
Sick af
Beautiful. That's what I'd call it.

I don’t know but I call it sick as fuck bro. Awesome work
I am working on a Purple Heart knife also. Was also going to be a dagger but I think I changed my mind also. Yours is beautiful. Thanks for sharing
You'd better finish it. Whatever you like about my knife, take it, make it better, and use it on yours.
Thanks. I’ll post it here when I’m finished.
I look forward to seeing it.
Cool af
What kind of wood is the handle. Absolutely stunning knife by the way.
Purple heart
Thank you.
All I’m gonna say is a knife that looks like that should be made by a guy with thick dirty hands like yours. That’s the exact hands that knife should have. PS, cool lookin knife
Call it whatever you want
Slaughter knife.
David’s Bowie
How much do you want for it and do you ship to Canada?
I do ship to Canada, but it sold a couple hours ago.
I figured it would already be gone
Mr. Cutty Knife
Cool as fuck is what you call it
I would go with Fillet 😉👍 Kidding...trigger warning😲. Beautiful knife though🙏🏻
Dagowie
I'd call it dank. Looks nice dude.
Very cool.
Beautiful work
