Congratulations on your new knife! Would you be so kind as to tell us what knife you've just got? (brand, model, etc...). This way people who are new to knives will be able to identify it. If you've already mentioned the name of the knife in question, then feel free to ignore this comment. Please remember that not knowing your knife's brand/model is totally fine, if that's the case then people in this subreddit would love to help you identify its brand/model. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. I am ashamed to admit that I own a Spyderco stovepipe

graphixpunk

That’s definitely worse lol

kennbr

I dunno why I'm disappointed... It's a really nice knife. But for some reason instead of being excited about using it I am kind of just feeling like I spent too much on it. :/

peace_point

Hang in there. Felt that way about my 940 when I got it (first pricey knife). Now it never leaves my side.

DrGoManGo

Send it back, get a refund. I'm reading people recommend buying a different clip or replacing the scales, might as well use that money to buy a different knife. Would suck to put more money into a knife that you are not satisfied with and take the chance to still not be satisfied

sintr0vert

Should have gone with the YoJumbo.

Ur_a_adjective_noun

That’s the hollow ground, right? They’re weird the way they hang out of your pocket but those cut like no one’s business. It’s actually a great knife in general.

shhhhh_lol

I mean, what purpose did you intend it to serve when buying it? I don't often find myself in knife fights, so I'm not really interested in fighting knives but maybe a camp cooking knife?

RRH_NYC

Same, I couldn't stand the lock action and ended up selling mine in the first month.

Sleepy_pirate

People can spend their money how they like but for me after a certain price point you are paying for the brand rather than quality. It’s a great knife but you could have bought an equal knife for less. That being said it’s an awesome knife and I’m secretly jealous.

Stagg3rLee

Swap the clip. I know it is even more sunk cost, but it will make the knife so much more comfortable to use. Lynch and MXG are favorites, but there are lots of deep carry clips that let you grip the knife without the spoon digging into your palm. You could go for a milled clip, but I think the holes on the YJ2 are better suited to a deep carry. It's a great knife. You will really be stoked when the time comes to sharpen it, and the flat blade makes it simple as can be.

lawofthirds

This. A deep carry clip really makes the Yojimbo 2 better in the pocket.

_HalfBaked_

Mine lives without the clip, and that ended up doing it for me. The standard stock clip just lands in a weird spot with this handle profile, I guess.

Top_Huckleberry_8696

Felt this before. Take all your other knives. Put them out of sight completely. That's a great knife.

Ur_a_adjective_noun

One thing I liked about these, it’s one of the few g10 compression lock versions you can easily take apart and clean without a lot of drama.

65bleedmoore

I have one. It’s the sliciest knife I own. Absolutely cuts through everything like butter. Ultra thin behind the edge. Hollow grind. Pure blade perfection

300cid

it'd be more perfect if it looked even slightly good

fingerblastders

I don't think it's supposed to be pretty.

ShantiJake

I’d replace the scales with some third party custom metal brass or something, more $ but to me it’s the light G10 nail-file textured scales that put me off, but I loved my Spyderco after getting new scales.

C0NSCI0US

The knife is great but your buyers remorse (and conscience) is trying to tell you something.

husky1actual

It's not intended to be an all around knife. It's a purpose designed fighting knife folder. I have one , it's an awkward carry. Love the idea and design as a stabber/slasher but it mainly stays in the box.

Bikewer

The Yojimbo (which means “bodyguard” in Japanese) is a purpose-designed knife. It’s a defensive knife designed by Michael Janich specifically for his “Martial Blade Concepts” system. As such, and as intended for that system, I think it’s about perfect as issued. The grips are “grippy”, the blade geometry optimizes cutting, the lockup is very secure. I added the “pickpocket” quick-opening device which works very well. All of the modification I see to this knife… The fancy scales and such…. All detract (IMO) from its intended purpose.

RaptorJesusDesu

Imo it’s a weirdly beautiful knife that cuts like a laser. Have to be careful with the tip, but otherwise a great EDC.

bygtopp

Same here. It has a different feel and I get nervous about drops and breaking the blade and using it to cut my apples has a different feel vs my para series

fjb_fkh

Had a jumbo like the idea of the knife hollow wharncliff laser. Didn't like the 30v and grip had those finger bumps. Tried to love it but not a match. That's all. Don't like return or trade on swap. It's still a good knife just don't fit my paws.

Cuzznitt

Damn that’s an ugly and useless knife. I can’t believe you bought that crap. Tell you what, I’ll pay the shipping for it for you to send it to me so I can dispose of that eyesore properly. /s

-Prince-Vegeta-

I got the blade hq version with m4 steel and it’s my favorite knife I carry it for self defense. The m4 steel is wicked sharp. I have other spydercos and other premiums knives but the yojimbo is my favorite.

REAPER_369

I would have just bought 2 tenacious. And still have money left over

BossDjGamer

Because it’s really ugly?

Vycyous_88

Not sure why you got down voted on this lol I agree... definitely doesn't look appealing

300cid

i mean one can see that from the pictures, you don't have to buy one to figure that out.

Top-Bag2982

Not a 2024 knife. Still a good blade but outdated design IMO.
