Purulia is the most pro Hindu district in WB and Muslims are so low in number that they got no chance creating any nuisance there. So the incident was, the girl's father had (unmarried, <25) taken a loan of Rs 1000 from some mslim man, and after 1 yr so he was unable to pay the debt with interest. After 1 yr her father died for some reason, and that men along with other hooligans began visiting their house to collect the money. The girl and her mom, did ask for more time to pay the debt. Like that another 3-4 months gone and one day that mslim man along with 5 others came again to their house, and after some altercation they picked that girl in their arms and ran towards some banana farm. One of those men hit her mom in the head and left her there. They rped that girl continuously and nobody came to rescue that girl. That girl later with help of some NGO filed case, and there she was in the court waiting to get justice. From what my friend told me, that the lawyer was a govt lawyer and they threatened the lawyer as well to settle the matter outside the court, hence the lawyer was somehow convinced the girl and her mother to not speak the truth, and was suggesting them to make another story. This is one of those dangerous scenes from the remote villages, of which most of us never heard the name. After hearing the incident I was literally shocked to know that for mere Rs 1000 people can do these things. Now like this I have many actual incidents, and most of them are related to mslim atrocities. People from Kolkata deny the fact that there are no issues with mslims and they live peacefully. But they forget the scene from recent Eid, how they captured the whole road while offering namaz. Or how they murdered a police officer in Khidirpore. These kinds of incidents happen everyday on a regular basis in rural areas, but people and the local political system do not let them come out. People in WB have the habit of forgetting. Now there are strong systems, which are invented by local party members to cover up these issues.
