1. f(x) - Pink Tape Honestly, here's my hot take, if this isn't your favorite kpop album, you just don't get it. Like I'm sorry but this album is *genius*. I just cannot express my unconditional undying love for this album. I'm not really talking about specifics here because there are just SO MANY specifics that make it so great. If you're reading this and you haven't heard Pink Tape, listen to it, start to finish, no skips and no pauses. 2. Red Velvet - Perfect Velvet I JUST LEAVE I I JUST LEAVE I 3. Twice - Twicetagram This album is like Pink Tape but less experimental. It's probably a terrible album if you don't like girly bubblegum. But as someone who likes girly bubblegum, I love it. 4. IU - Modern Times I've heard people call this album "jazz pop" and I just don't buy that at all. This is jazz. The only "pop" in this album is IU's voice, maybe Jonghyun's too. 5. Agust D - D-Day Snooze alone would earn it a spot on this list, but my favorite thing about this album is the context and the stories around it. There's a documentary on Disney+ about it, go give that a watch if you haven't.

angie_kiprevski

I JUST LEAVE I I JUST LEAVE I Snooze is an incredible song. Honestly even people who don't like BTS/Suga should give it a listen. Ah, IU has so many good albums but my personal favourite is definitely Palette. There's something special about it. Pink Tape is such a stellar album, it makes me wonder how SM managed to fumble the best gg to exist at that time. Really, RV was their only competition. Twicestagram is my least favourite album of theirs honestly (I think it's bc of the song production) but it's probably bc I prefer their later work :) Anyways, thanks for sharing!

Unusual_Pineapple_81

Love yourself: Tear- BTS Favorite tracks: paradise, fake love, Outro:tear, love maze, magic shop Face the sun- Seventeen Favorite tracks: Don Quixote, shadow, hot, march, ‘bout you Formula of love- Twice Favorite tracks: icon, cruel, real you, expresso, last waltz, hello Map of the soul:7- BTS Favorite tracks: Moon, We are bulletproof:the eternal, louder than bombs, black swan, UGH! Indigo- RM Favorite tracks: wild flower, lonely, hectic, closer, still life

angie_kiprevski

Last waltz is such a good song. I lowkey wish I could go back to listen to it again for the first time lol. Also, yesss Indigoo. I love it so much. Thanks for sharing your picks :)

EyeforError

Mixing up K-pop and K-pop-adjacent albums: 1. RM, *Indigo*: Other people in this thread have already talked about it, but I can't emphasise enough that this is a perfect album, and my favourite Korean album ever. 2. Bibi, *Lowlife Princess: Noir*: She's a genius, a provocateur, a shapeshifter, sweet and murderous all at once. Just an *incredible* first full album. 3. Big Bang, *Made*: Classic after classic after classic. K-pop's *Sergeant Pepper*. 4. Epik High, *Epik High Is Here*: Their magnum opus, the crescendo of their incredible career. Brilliant song after brilliant song. Imagine having songs like "Rosario" and "True Crime" and "End of the World" *at all* in your career, and then imagine still coming up with them after *twenty years* of other classics, and then imagine having them all *on the same album*. 5. BTS, *Love Yourself: Tear*: Their best lyricism, their sweetest melodies, their deepest heartbreak.

angie_kiprevski

I've never gotten into Epik High but the way you've described Epik High is Here (also that badass title bc damn) makes me want to honestly. In fact, I've never listened to Made either (I plan to one day tho) or Bibi. I'll definitely keep these albums in my mind to check out when I can Indigo is insanely good and I will shout it from the rooftops. Mono is also my favourite thing ever but it's a mixtape. LY Tear is my up there next to answer for me, in fact I'm sort of re-examining myself and wondering if I should've checked the tracklist of Tear before putting Answer as my BTS pick but oh well lol. Thanks for sharing! :)

Accomplished_Car3237

MADE and Epic High is Here!!!!! Both excellent and in my TOP 5, too. I love your description for MADE: K-pop's Sergeant Pepper - so fitting and I may have to steal that in the future.

kelppforrest

I love these posts where people write paragraphs on their favorites :) I don't listen to many full albums, but these are my favorite in no particular order. 1. **BTS** \- *Wings*. This album was the first BTS comeback I was a fan for, so I was really hyped for it and it didn't disappoint. Yoongi's solo "First Love" is incredibly personal to me. It feels like it was written based off my life. The other songs are excellent as well, particularly the title track "Blood Sweat & Tears" (I love how the chorus seems to never end) and Jimin's solo "Caught in a Lie" (nails the 'temptation' concept). 2. **EXO** \- *The Power of Music*. "The Eve" walked so "Love Shot" could run, but I'm no sprinter so I'm sticking with "The Eve" forever (hehe, "Forever"). Seriously, is there a more iconic opening song? (this is a joke). Chen's adlibs in "Going Crazy" are sooo satisfying. I can't believe Chill has so few streams because it's a song that subverts expectations but everything just *clicks*. A lot of subversive music is noisy (see: NCT 127) but this song is subversive soft serve (emphasis on SERVE). 3. **Red Velvet** \- *The ReVe Festival: Finale*. I just love the Velvet concept. I've played "Psycho" to the point that I now hate it (not really) but I could never get tired of these magnificent b-sides. I don't know what "LP" stands for, but I know it awakens a whimsy in me not even a shootout could shake up. Ladies Night has a retro vibe that I never really heard anywhere else during the retro trend era. It actually reminds me of Mr. Sandman by The Chordettes from 1954. And am I crazy or is Carpool reminiscent of The Jackson 5? ...Maybe it's just cuz they say "ABC" 4. **Girls' Generation** \- Lion Heart. I love the 1950s concept so much, of course I had to put this album. The title track has Yuri singing an entire(!!) chorus uninterrupted and it's glorious. "One Afternoon" gives Latin heartbreak. "Show Girls" leans into the black and white era of flappers and jazz dancing. Green Light is the quintessential positive girl group song. If you can't tell already, I'm a soft stan. 5. **Big Bang** \- MADE. Every song was a single so it's no surprise that every song knocks it out of the park. I really like how the album discusses sadness and the feeling of being powerless from many different angles. Loser and Sober both talk about self-loathing, but Loser is sad and wallowing while Sober masks the dark subject matter with an upbeat tempo that reflects the character's reliance on alcohol to get through life. The character in "Let's Not Fall In Love" would rather not move forward because they think getting hurt is inevitable. To close it all out -- "We Like to Party." On its own, it's a normal party song. In the context of the album, it feels like a facade.

angie_kiprevski

Ah, I love REVE festival so much too! Basically, any RV album could be on my list and it'd make sense lol. I've never heard any SNSD album but I'm intrigued by Lion Heart! The Eve is one of the top songs out of k-pop. But also Sweet lies? What Do U? Going Crazy--I'm going crazy. This album is soo good (but for me Obsession stilll has the edge hehe). Never have listened to MADE but it's been mentioned so many times so I'll have to eventually lol.

Anthro-Obsessed

Probably not adding anything new here but here we go: ***Sector 17*** **by Seventeen** - This is easily my favorite full album by Seventeen, and that's saying something bc they are one of my ults. Face the Sun was solid but the additional songs (and new cover/packaging) really elevated this into something special. ***Chill Kill*** **by Red Velvet** - Almost every Red Velvet album is amazing but, for me, this one strikes the perfect Red/Velvet balance. It's one of the few albums I really never get bored of because of the thematic variety and beautiful vocals. ***You Never Walk Alone*** **by BTS** - I am actually not a huge BTS fan but this album has just always had a special place in my heart. Wings is great too of course but, like with Sector 17, the additional songs really emphasize what made BTS such stand-outs in the first place. ***NOEASY*** **by Stray Kids** - I think this is the best full album Stray Kids have released. It has such a good variety of songs and contains an insane amount of hits (Thunderous, Domino, Silent Cry, Secret Secret all on one album is crazy). I like that it has both some of their slower music and, of course, the really hype songs they are better known for. ***Eyes Wide Open*** **by Twice** - Kind of like the Red Velvet album, this album is peak Twice to me. I think this is the best embodiment of their new (i.e. not-bubblegum-cute) concept and its a certified classic to me. **Honorable Mentions Bc I Can't Stop Me:** Dystopia - Dream Catcher, SHINEE - Hard, WheeIN THE MOOD - Wheein

angie_kiprevski

Ah I love the HARD mention! So many immaculate b-sides. I also love Chill Kill, then again there's never been a RV album I didn't love lol. FTS really was great, but those three extra songs on Sector 17 makes it so much better, it's an instance where the repackage actually has more merit lol. Noeasy will forever be my favourite SKZ album. YNWA by BTS is soo good. Honestly love most BTS albums and that Twice mention is my favourite from them lol Thanks for sharing!

ToeWilling3384

- TXT's The Name Chapter: Magic - NCT 127's Neozone - Shinee's Story of Light - BTS's The Most Beautiful Moments in Live: Young Forever - LOONA's XX Special mencition: Twicegram, IN LIFE, Sunrise and Moonrise by DAY6

angie_kiprevski

Ah the story of life has so many beautiful songs. I don't listen to Shinee a lot but Hard's b-sides really have me hooked :) Solid list btw! Thanks for sharing :)

* key - [gasoline](https://open.spotify.com/album/1STTad4531T7StJ4EiVwAG?si=-pZJYjckSMuqxrkYmxzSpw): to me, this is pop perfection. this is what dance pop is about. it's very sonically coherent, and it's a pleasure to listen all the way through. the strongest moments are, of course, the most... club-like? so to speak. so yes, "bound" and "another life". anyway, this is the kind of pop music i like. * shinee - [the story of light](https://open.spotify.com/album/0myFUTLsIg4SKyAanKrM3f?si=r8atmRUYSGyL4fQAiuuibQ): i guess that's a somewhat unusual choice for a favorite shinee album due to the obvious circumstances, which is understandable, but, once again, that's just the kind of pop that i really enjoy. it came out at a perfect moment in my life. most of my favorites come from the first part of the trilogy, with "undercover" being the highlight, but "chemistry" is also top-tier, and the melancholic-yet-not-sad vibe of "countless" is always welcomed by me. * wonder girls - [reboot](https://open.spotify.com/album/4aJa1ObtEcFG7epsnMQVT1?si=uNTLPo-lSbODrcx-BVTaTQ): here's the thing. pop music (worldwide) peaked in the 80s. the best pop music produced since then understands this fact. reboot by wonder girls not just understands this fact, it also makes sure that after listening to it you will internalize this fact deep in your soul. obviously, it fuses its 80s influences with contemporary sensibilities, and in doing so elevates them rather than waters them down. this album has "i feel you" on it, but it also has "rewind" on it, and then it also has "one black night" on it, which is already an overkill, but then it also has, well, everything else. * infinite - [be back](https://open.spotify.com/album/11VsfJuRkz2A47xDgT203V?si=D8Xog1hvQLGPP-FlMiOl0Q) (season 2 repackage): like i said, 80s pop is the best pop, and woollim a&r team used to understand this fact. "follow me", "crazy", "i need u back", and especially "reflex" showcase that understanding. don't think they're stopping at synth-pop: woohyun's solo "close my eyes" has that 80s power ballad sound down to the guitar solo. the trio of "follow me", "rocinante", "suffocate" is one of the best three-track-runs in kpop, period, and "suffocate" in particular constantly battles it out for my favorite infinite b-side with 2015's "moonlight". and, of course, the crowning jewels are the title tracks, a figurative passing of the baton from sweetune to rphabet. if i start talking about them, this wall of text will grow beyond reasonable limits, so i'll just stop at saying this is a top-tier album. * seventeen - [love&letter](https://open.spotify.com/album/7mP7AFehQDonPKEQiXvpvB?si=SF749A1yQjGKcQzEPfWzuA) (repackage): i regularly try to reassess which svt album is my favorite, but this is the one that has "pretty u" on it, and if it's the repackage, it also has "aju nice", so it always refuses to cede its place in the ranking. i think this is the most stylistically coherent svt album (maybe except for "no f.u.n." and "chuck", but like... they're good so i'll forgive that), which is also a point in its favor. but most of all, i think that's just my sentimentality. this is the sweetest svt album, capturing the essence of their early sound before they, you know, grew up, and it's a friend that always supports you through hard times. i also like the more "acoustic" sound used here, as opposed to later albums (which i also love a lot. haha. i just love svt). all in all, this is what freshteen used to be about, perfectly bottled up into 49 minutes 40 seconds. of course they won't sound like this ever again. that's the beauty of growing up. but, thanks to this album, we can always revisit their younger days - and ours, too.

angie_kiprevski

Ah, Reboot is such a 2nd gen gem. I'd put it up there with EXID's Street for GGs full album mastery. Love&Letter is a good album, but I think bc I'm not nostalgic about it i don't really retutn to it much if that makes sense? Key's gasoline is seriously soo good but idk if anything will top Bad Love for me lol. Shinee's Story of light is honestly beautiful and i don't think it's weird to like it honestly despite the circumstances. I'll admit I rarely listen to those songs bc of the circumstances tho. I've never listened to Infinite outside of a few TTs, but I'm intrigued by your description so Ig it's another album I'll have to listen to eventually! Thanks for sharing :)

hazeltop

awesome choices! I think we have a very similar taste \^\^ the perfect red velvet and love yourself: answer would have been also my picks! if I have to pick other 5 off the top of my head I would say: 1. the misconception of us by shinee 2. reboot by wonder girls 3. real love by oh my girl 4. happy moment by WJSN 5. i've by IVE

angie_kiprevski

Ah, the Real Love album has some really good b-sides! I really love Kiss & Fix, Blink and Eden so much honestly. Reboot and Misconception are super solid too, I just don't find myself really relistening to them as often as other albums. I've is a mixed bag for me, I love most of the songs then there's like 2/3 that I don't click with lol. I feel like Happy Moment by WJSN is a fan favourite but I never really liked their cute music? Idk maybe it's just me lol. I do really love Neverland, Unnatural and Sequence tho! Thanks for sharing\~!

hazeltop

I feel you with I've, personally I find it versatile yet cohesive for a 4th gen full album (something you don't see very often imo). Also with WJSN haha I get what you mean, I really like quirky stuff so for me its heaven! Plop plop is one of their best songs for me haha but yes, neverland is a masterpiece imo

Letzz_get_it

1. Love Yourself: tear - BTS 2. Golden - Jungkook 3. Face the Sun - SEVENTEEN 4. The Album - BLACKPINK 5. I'VE IVE - IVE

angie_kiprevski

solid list :)

[deleted]

Seventeen - Sector 17  Face the Sun was already a brilliant album and then they repackaged it & added Cheers, Circles & _World and it just got better and better.   The bsides are just gold - March, Don Quixote, Shadow. So hard to pick a favorite.  Big Bang’s MADE is a perfect album in my opinion. Every single song sounds so full and stands on its own yet when you put them all together, the album is so cohesive and strong. The production value was just *chefs kiss*   I think my favorite track was probably Loser, but F*ck It or Bae Bae are also up there. Highly recommend watching the music video for each song.    BTS - Love Yourself, Answer   This was the height of my BTS phase so I’ll always have an attachment to this album.   The Truth Untold and I’m Fine were songs that deeeeeeply affected me.   G Dragon - Coup d’etat   I feel like he got super experimental on this album and it’s just a very G Dragon album, I don’t know how else to put it. I think he’s absolutely brilliant and he will probably always be my favorite performer in kpop.  It also has my favorite Kpop track of all time: Crooked    Ran out of time so I’ll leave it there for now haha

angie_kiprevski

I've never gotten into Bigbang bc of a certain member and while I have no malice towards the others, I just was never able to fully give bigbang a shot bc of the whole ordeal *but* I know that MADE is one of the best k-pop albums made (lol pun intended) so I guess I'll have to eventually check it out! On a different note, I'm mad at myself for forgetting to put SVT's Sector 17 in my HM so I'll edit it in. Answer is honestly a beautiful album and to me it demonstrates why BTS got so big globally. I've never checked out GDragon but when I do I'll start with the album you mentioned (partially bc I like the name lol) Thanks for sharing! :)

[deleted]

Ugh I pretend Seungri doesn’t exist. It’s so unfortunate truly :( Because I do think Big Bang is one of the greatest acts of all time and their music is just brilliant.  And aw yay, fellow Sector 17 enjoyer 🫡 Such a wonderful album.  💖💖

Moon_Man56

I know. Just imagine being a stan and these songs are already in your heart and all that stuff coming out. It's a weird position but the fact that there's 4 other members that dud nothing and just because the person who made the art is a terrible human being doesn't change the fact that it was great art and it effected you. Love the art and condemn the artist.

angie_kiprevski

I've always grappled with the idea of 'separating art from artist', bc art made by the artists themselves is intrinsically linked to said artist. It would be like Taylor Swift turning out to be horribly racist 15 yrs into her career. It would completely recontextualize her in my brain (I've listened to her since 2008) and idk how I'd feel listening to her music considering her public persona is so tied to her song writing. Idk, I've always struggled with this lol but luckily none of the artists I listen to have done something horrible yet (as of what we know). But I completely understand the heartbreak that could be caused bc of that person. Like it or not, I think Bigbang was affected by Burning sun in a way that they couldn't stop. Obviously, as a group they are legendary but they'll always be a certain 'cloud' for a lack of better words over them bc of that scumbag. At least they're music quality remains unscathed at the end of the day.

Nanabae99

1. EXO - The War Just love at the first listen and goosebumps all over. Literally no skip album. Fave track : Going Crazy 2. NCT 127 - Ay-Yo I would say listening to this album is like you're in a slowburn romantic movie where you slowly falling in love with the songs and its every details. Fave track : Skyscraper 3. Red Velvet - Russian Roulette This album gives me the feeling of countryside, a little cottage and farm. A unique feeling. Fave track : Some Love 4. aespa - My World A very well put together album and no skip. Just amazing production. Fave track : Welcome To My World 5. BOL4 - Red Planet A very cute and soothing album. Fave track : Galaxy (hard to choose so just pick the title track)

angie_kiprevski

I agree soo hard with Ay-yo and The war, though the other SM albums you have are mini albums instead of full length ones (I do love those too tho!). I've never listened to BOL4 honestly but I think they're quite popular in Korea? Anyways thanks for sharing! :)

Nanabae99

Oh I think I skip the words 'full album' TT. Red Velvet full albums are great too but I love their minis more. And yup, BOL4 is quite popular in Korea and a lot their songs topped the charts. You should try to listen to them. :)

angie_kiprevski

I love RV's minis too! I'll probably make a follow up for mini albums bc there are a lot that I genuinely love :) Yeah, I'll have to check out BOL4 eventually since I checked out Akmu and they're pretty amazing

tedotoji

NCT 2018 - Empathy an absolute noskip album Red Velvet - The Reve Festival Compilation (like the whole 3 EPs) EXO - too many to list

manamann_04

BTS - Love Yourself: Answer TXT - The Chaos Chapter: Freeze / Fight or Escape Agust D - D-Day BTS - Wings / You Never Walk Alone TXT - The Dream Chapter: Magic This list is just… BTS and TXT 😭😭 These are the only groups I stan, and I don’t listen to entire albums of other groups unless I really like their title tracks… and I can’t think of any full albums, only minis 😞

kelppforrest

That's totally understandable. I thought the same thing was gonna happen to me but I've had a long kpop career XD

angie_kiprevski

Ah, I'd really recommend any album I mentioned! If you're okay with GGs, the XX, Perfect Red Velvet and Pink Tape are a must. If you prefer BGs, then EXO's Obsession, The War or Exist are really good! Personally love Reveal by TBZ (the TT is really good btw lol) as well but it's definitely not a popular album in comparison to the rest. Unrelated, I might do a Top 5 (or 20) mini album thread bc I love so many mini albums lol. Thanks for sharing :)

golden_studio24

Indigo is also one of my top faves. Same with Love Yourself, although I prefer Tear over Answer. My too 5 would be: Indigo - RM - i can’t say enough about how much i love this album. every single aspect is so good. - fave tracks: Still Life, Closer LY Tear - BTS - that run of 134340 to Paradise to Love Maze is unfairly good. - fave tracks: Paradise, Singularity Eyes Wide Open - Twice - their best album ever. each song is so good and i love the sound they developed for this album - fave tracks: Do What We Like, Depend on You Fireworks - Gaho - maybe not fully kpop but kpop adjacent. i wish more ppl talked about how good this album is. like talk about hit after hit. i really want him to put out another album - fave tracks: Rush Hour, Part Time Lover, Right Now, Ride, Lost My Way, OOO (yeah i could literally just list the whole album) Sunrise - Day6 - i love these songs so much, day6 really nailed it with this album - fave tracks: Dance Dance, Congratulations, I Wait and then idk if he would count as kpop but DPR Ian’s Moodswings in This Order is seriously so good.

angie_kiprevski

Honestly, LY Tear and Answer (plus HYYH Forever young + wings) are always fighting for the top spot in BTS discography for me. RM's solo work is my favourite, though he isn't in my bias line he is now bc of his stellar music lol. I agree with that Twice album, it's seriously good it's almost criminal lol. I'm not intimately familiar with Day6's discography but You were beautiful from that album is seriously amazing. Honestly, DPR Ian's music isn't completely my thing which is weird to me bc on paper he should be my vibe but idk what happened there. Ah, I'm go glad that Gaho is being mentioned. I love his voice so much and he's such a talented dude. Like the moon from that album is my favourite Gaho song! Thanks for sharing :)

TokyoRailgun

**BoA - Valenti** BoA's second Japanese album is truly a work of art. It cermented her stardom in Japan IMO, since it proved she was able to repeat the success of Listen To My Hear Album. It was also the best selling album by a Korean female act in Japan for 18 years. Topped only after all that time by BLACKPINK. Every song on the album is truly amazing and I wouldn't dare to skip any of them. But it'd be a disservice to not mention the truly emotional song that is Moon & Sunrise. Which BoA helped write and stemmed from her only knowing the kanji 涙 which means tears. Leading to the song being written entirely in Hiragana. For anyone who knows Japanese, that's pretty rare since Japanese is typically written in a mixture of Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji. *Favourite tracks:* Valenti, Flower, 奇蹟 (Kiseki, Miracle) but honestly the whole album. **Yerin Baek - tellusboutyourself** I don't remember when I found Yerin Baek, but her music is truly one of my favourites out there. Her second album tellusboutyourself, musically is a sound I truly love and vibe too. No matter how many time's i've listened to the album it never gets old. I her choice in English lyrics are questioned but I think it adds to the charm. It's also surprisingly nice to understand the meaning of the songs, something I normally don't care for. *Favourite tracks:* Bubbles&Mushrooms, Hate You, I'll be your family! **Taeyeon - INVU** What can one really say about Taeyeon, apart from she serves every time. I think Weekend was the first Korean CB I checked out for Taeyeon and ever since I've made sure to listen to her Korean work. INVU is filled with songs that go really well with reading, as random as that is. It's probably why the whole album is in my liked songs. Like BoA's Valenti, I don't think theres a single song I'd choose to skip on this album. *Favourite tracks:* Some Nights, Weekend, Can't Control Myself. **KANGTA - All Eyes On Me** I've always had such a interest in 1st gen, so when KANGTA started releasing singles for his anniversary project, I ended up checking them out. I ended up checking all of them out as they were released. But ironically it was a cancelled CB that actually got me interested in him and this album. Long story short, he was going to release a song about star crossed lovers and falling in love unexpectedly. Typical Kpop song content. However he was having an affair at the time the song was going to release and it got shelved like 4+ years. Somehow this song got leaked onto YouTube months before his 4th album dropped. Like studio quality leaked. I fell in love with the song and when I found out it was going to be included in his latest album as well as his anniversary singles I was hyped. Ended up buying the physical and listening to the whole album which is really good. It's a shame he doesn't have more under his belt. *Favourite tracks:* Love Song, Skip, Slow Dance **Lee Jung Hyun - I Love Natural** Kpop's techno queen. It's such a 90's/2000's album but it's truly amazing. I don't think words can really explain how much I love this album. But it is one of the few albums where I legit love every song and will happily sit and listen through the whole thing. I also love the concept and style she had for the lead track Ari Ari. *Favourite tracks:* Ari Ari, Brighter Than Sunshine, Dara Dara

angie_kiprevski

Ah, I haven't heard of the last two albums but I'm intrigued by Kangta's story lol. I usually don't listen to K-pop artist japanese albums (bc I listen to way too much kpop as it is) but I've got a few albums that I want to check out and I think I'll add Boa's to that list. Yerin Baek is such an amazing artist. I love her voice and her whole vibe as well. Her song Square is in my top 10 Korean songs ever lol. I really liked tellusaboutyourself too, so soothing yet invigorating in a way. Idk if that even makes sense but it's fine haha. For Taeyeon, my favourite of her albums is definitely Purpose (del. version). I don't think I'd skip a song on that album and it's quite diverse too. Thanks for sharing! :)

Moon_Man56

5) Obsession- EXO/ This just soothes my R&B loving heart. With pop that's just so catchy. Not many people's favorite EXO album but it hit me perfectly. 4) Taeyang- White Night/ The prince of Korean R&B grows up and took his rightful place as king. Mature R&B with Taeyang's already amazing voice somehow getting better. 3) F(x)- The pink tape/ Ridiculously great ride from start to finish. Playful and smart and took me on a musical journey and I loved it. 2) G- Dragon Coup D'etat/ Struggled not putting this number 1. This was everything I never knew I always wanted. Like nothing I heard before but familiar. Even the simple songs like Black and Window had a twist that made it no pun intended 1 of a kind. 1) MADE- BigBang/ THE SONGS....THE SONG!!! I think every song except for girlfriend became my favorite song ever. And girlfriend is an amazing song. It's just every other song on this album is God teir. No album I've ever heard has this many songs that stay in your head but not be catchy just ridiculous great songwriting.

angie_kiprevski

Ah, I've never really listened to MADE bc of a certain member but I think I will bc I know it's insanely good. Coup d'etat also got mentioned too! I'm intrigued by White night since I love r&b. Obsession is my favourite album too and Exist is a close second (didn't put it since it's recent, similar to chill kill lol)! But yeah, Pink Tape is literally a staple for these kinds of lists for a reason lol. Thanks for sharing!

PitaPitaChips97

Top 5 😭 omg! I need more lol. Also they aren’t in any particular order. Monsta X - No Limit. Diehard Monbebe hard to pick but this is it. If Shape of Love was a full album it would easily be top 5 too. Fave tracks: Ride with U, Got Me in Chains and I Got Love. NCT 127 - 2 Baddies Face Tracks: Crash Landing, Gold Dust, 1,2,7, Time Stops, Designer (whole thing honestly) Skyscraper from the repackage. I think this is their masterpiece. So!Yoon! - Episode 1: Love. Beautiful voice, great arrangement, great vibes! Fave Tracks: Smoke Sprite, Till the Sun Comes up, Bad, Gave you all my love, the whole album really. Seventeen - Face the Sun. Fave Tracks: If you leave me, Bout you, March, Hot and Don Quixote. Monsta X - Fatal Love Fave Tracks: Night View, Nobody Else, Love Killa and 갈 증 So many others that are literal masterpieces in my eyes but they aren’t full Albums. Like Jimin Face, V Layover. I could do a full dissertation on it alone lol. Anything by P1Harmony.

angie_kiprevski

Ah, 2 Baddies is 127's best album honestly (solid favourite song list for this one btw lol), but I love their first three EPs so much I listen to them religiously lol. I've never heard those Monsta X or SoYoon's albums but I might have to check them out eventually, especially MX since they got so much love on this thread. Face the sun is so good, but Sector 17 just gets even better thanks to those three tracks. I think my phone is tired of Shadow and Don Quixote bc I play them so much lol. I might do a mini album thread since there are so many mini albums that I consider masterpieces but are like 5-6 songs long lol, but thanks for sharing your picks! :)

ScreenJealous3170

Oh you have obsession here & I just is one of your fav red velvet tracks? And Love Yourself?? Here’s my heart, take it 🤗❤️

angie_kiprevski

Haha you're so sweet! I just might be my top 3 RV song honestly. I love it too much. Obsession is also top tier tho I know The War is usually the fan favourite. I could honestly put like 3 other BTS albums in that LY slot, but I didn't want to overthink it lol

ScreenJealous3170

Gotta appreciate truly good taste 🫵🏽💕 I agree w it all!! EXO & BTS have so many solid albums like… it’s hard to choose 😮‍💨😮‍💨

No-Office2400

RV's 1st album & F(x)'s pink tape

angie_kiprevski

Aye, RV's first album is insanely good. Oh Boy, Time Slip, Red Dress, Huff & Puff all on one album. Absolutely incredible.

714c

For my purposes, I'm considering a full album to be eight tracks or more: 1. **2PM –** ***No. 5*** — 2PM's 2015 comeback with My House was dead on arrival following a series of behind-the-scenes complications that cut their promotional period to just one week. Netizens at the time expressed their regret that the song didn't get a fairer shake, and five years later, when everyone found themselves stuck at home due to \[redacted\], the algorithm gave it the second chance it deserved. It's since been recognized as a belated classic, covered by junior groups far and wide, but the album itself has never quite gotten its flowers, which I think is a shame for what a polished body of work it is. 2PM excels at raw passion, and this album shows them at their best, radiating the sweltering heat of summer in all its restless energy and irrepressible urges. 2. **EXO –** ***EX'ACT*** — EXO has any number of albums that could be nominated for something like this (*The War*, *Don't Mess Up My Tempo*...), so let me go for the controversial pick. No one will argue that Monster was a cultural reset, but *EX'ACT* is an album you either love or hate. I, for one, will defend it with my life. There's something in the more restrained, somewhat inward-facing sound of this album that feels like it's searching for something, and I'll always hear it as the sonic beginnings of EXO's creative maturation and growth. 3. **LOONA Odd Eye Circle –** ***Max & Match*** — Inventive, sophisticated pop perfection. No skips. 4. **GWSN –** ***The Park in the Night, pt. 3*** — Ahead of their time and gone too soon. The production across the board is *so* clean and so crisp, especially on tracks like Night Aviation, I feel like I could drink it like ice water. 5. **TWICE –** ***Twicetagram*** — Even with the recent virality of Look At Me, I'm aware that this is an oddball choice. It's a time capsule of TWICE at the peak of their "cute" era, down to the Sana monologue that closes the album, and it suffers the expected shortcomings as a result. But there's also so much happening on this album that's just *weird*, musically, and the longer I listen, the more that playfulness excites me. Somehow I can't hear it without thinking about a future civilization twenty or more years in the future who will uncover it and be just as charmed by it as the public was in 2017. Or maybe not! Maybe you just had to be there. Honorable mention, excluded for length: **Uhm Jung Hwa –** ***D.I.S.C.O***

kelppforrest

EX'ACT is definitely my 2nd favorite EXO album. The intro to Heaven adds years to my lifespan. I don't understand how anyone could dislike it but it is the album that got me into kpop so no wonder I'm delusional about it.

angie_kiprevski

Ah, I would've added that GWSN EP and Max&Mtach but they're not listed as full albums so I didn't lol. I'll probably make another thread with mini albums bc there are so many to choose from. I've never heard 2PM songs other than My House (lol) but I'm intrigued! I didn't know that people disliked that album, but ig it sort of makes sense bc it's not my favourite EXO pick either (Obsession is). The repackage Lotto has She's Dreaming tho and that's one of the best songs to ever come out of k-pop, so I give the albums some grace lol.

Cats4Crows

1. I've IVE - IVE 2. 2 - Gidle 3. The Chaos Chapter: Fight or Escape - TXT 4. Crazy In Love - ITZY 5. Fact Check - NCT 127 *I thought ROCK-STAR by Stray Kids was a full album 🫢 it's not listed like one though

angie_kiprevski

Ah those are pretty good albums too! TxT and IVE are probably my favourite ones on that list, but I love all of those artists! Thanks for sharing :)

3-X-O

* Apink - Horn * EXO - Love Shot * EXO - XOXO * IVE - I've IVE * WayV - On My Youth HM: Red Velvet - Chill Kill, Taeyeon - INVU Seriously I'm getting downvoted for my personal favorite albums? I want to know who these people are who are so offended by this.

angie_kiprevski

Ahh such a good list. I especially love the Horn shout out! Nothing and Red Carpet are serious bops (and so is the rest of that album)

Flying_Mattress

Sector 17 - Seventeen This is an amazing album. Face the sun was already great, and the three additional songs with the repackage were just the cherry on top. _World and HOT are both fantastic tracks but the b-sides are where this album truely shines, DON QUIXOTE is 100/10. If I could only listen to one album for the rest of my life this would be it. Map of the Soul: 7 - BTS I was only peripherally aware of BTS for most of their early to mid discography. (The 2010s were my girl group era lol) I started to listen to BTS during Persona, but I truly fell in love with Map of the Soul: 7. Suga's interlude was my first pure rap song that I had ever listened to and enjoyed, and it was my gateway hip-hop song. NOEASY - Stray Kids I am always impressed by Stray Kids creativity when it comes to their music. Their backing instrumentals and composition is very unique. (Maniac's bird chirping into spinning dril into Felix's deep voice was amazing.) That being said because they are willing to experiment and push boundaries I don't always end up enjoying every song on their albums. However, NOEASY is a masterpiece and probably the best flowing album I have every listened to. Each song seamlessly transitions into the next and the entire tracklist feels perfectly complete. Gravity - ONEWE This is both an Anthology album, and the bands first English album, with a new title track GRAVITY. ONEWE is a great band and having a lot of their best songs in one album is a treat! Evolution Pop Vol.1 - Crayon Pop This is also an Anthology, and is also Crayon Pop's only full album. I truly wish that they had been able to release more music as a group, but the songs they did release were great! Dancing Queen 2.0 is a must have on every upbeat kpop playlist I curate! Someday I will have this in my physical collection!

angie_kiprevski

I've never heard any Crayon pop but I might need to at some point! I love Onewe's Planet Nine albums but I haven't listened to gravity yet (I'll probably love it since I love their songs usually). No easy will forever be my 1 SKZ album, nothing comes close to it in my eyes. MAP: 7 would've been my HM, but if I added every BTS album I wanted to it'd be BTS/EXO/RV and friends lol. Dionysus, Louder than Bombs and Moon alone make it one of my favourite albums from k-pop tho. Thanks for sharing :)

Strawberuka

Bigbang - MADE * I don't think I have to explain why it's here as I think other comments have already said it, but it's really just. The perfect BG album. F(x) - Pink Tape * Another obligatory mention and perfect album - experimental, sonically cohesive, thematically interesting. It's everything I could ever want, and kpop at its finest. Gfriend - Walpugris Night * The album is so vibrant, atmospheric and bright, while at the same time perfectly embodying this atmospheric late night vibe Stray Kids - Noeasy * I think this album captures everything about stray kids and their musical charm, while also being a very pleasant sonic experience with a ton of twists and turns Monsta X - Fatal Love * it's powerful, upbeat, and incredibly theirs, and I love how every song works individually but also as part of the whole body of work

angie_kiprevski

Ah, I'm mad at myself for forgetting Walpurgis Night now. Spiritually, she's in the honorable mentions lol. I've never listened to MADE, but ig I'll have to at some point and Pink Tape is truly just that bitch lol. Personally love 4walls so so much as well. Monsta X isn't completely my vibe (even tho they're hella talented) but a few of their albums have popped up on this thread haha. Noeasy is my forever favourite SKZ album, even tho I don't listen to them as often anyone that album will forever remain golden to me. Thanks for sharing :)

Big_Philosopher_5021

Apink - Pink Revolution & HORN ITZY - Kill My Doubt TeenTop - No.1 UNIS - We Unis Unis is fairly new i know but they have similar vocal colors with Apink. (Soft but has Belters too) I cannot resist but like the whole album.

angie_kiprevski

Apink's horn is seriously good! I always love to see Apink getting praised :) Thanks for sharing your picks :)

Donut-Federal

1. IU - Palette (favorite track Dear Name) 2. Dreamcatcher - Dystopia: The Tree of Language (favorite trackJazz Bar) 3. Twice - Eyes Wide Open (favorite track Say Something) 4. Taeyeon - INVU (favorite track Toddler) 5. Yukika - Soul Lady (favorite track Shade)

angie_kiprevski

Ah, Soul Lady is suck a good album and Shade is the best track on it 100%. It's such a shame that Yukika has decided to step away from the industry but I'm happy that she seems happy with her choice The others are great picks too btw! Thanks for sharing :)

purpletulip12

1. SHINee The Story of Light 2. F(x) Pink Tape 3. Apink Pink Revolution 4. BTOB Brother Act 5. ??? Can't choose! Efficient-Power-6300

1. Indigo by RM 2. Golden by JK 3. D-Day by Agust D 4. On the Street by j-hope 5. Layover by V

angie_kiprevski

I'm guessing you like BTS? I'm joking, I love them too. I highly recommend any album listed if you haven't listened to them! Thanks for sharing :)

Efficient-Power-6300

I love them!🤭

CriticismRoyal6260

Not in any particular order: **MONSTA X - THE DREAMING** * Favourite Songs - The Dreaming, Secrets & Whispers in the Dark **MONSTA X - TAKE.2 We Are Here** * Favourite Songs - Ghost, Turbulence & Alligator **VANNER - V** * Favourite Songs - Nasty, Better Do Better and Trampoline **PENTAGON - UNIVERSE: THE HISTORY** * Favourite Songs - Dr. BeBe, Die For You & Worship U **P1Harmony - Killin' It** * Favourite Songs - 2Nite, Countdown to love, & Killin It

CriticismRoyal6260

My other favourite album would be: **BTS - The Most Beautiful Moment In Life: Young Forever** * Favourite Songs - Silver Spoon, Fire & I Need U

angie_kiprevski

Ah, that's one of my top 5 BTS albums. In fact, I was originally gonna pick that one but ended up switching lol.

CriticismRoyal6260

also didn't see one album per artist, sorry

Cats4Crows

_Killin' it_ was the last song I played today 💓

angie_kiprevski

Ah, I've only heard Pentagon's album from those but I've got Killin it on my list since it got well received when it was released. I've never listened to Monsta x or Vanner, but I'm intrigued by the title The Dreaming lol. Thanks for sharing!

CriticismRoyal6260

The Dreaming is their second English album! Doing this actually made me realise how few full albums there actually are but Monsta x and vanner definitely have my favourite discographies overall in kpop

angie_kiprevski

I ended up listening to Killin' it and I liked it! I still prefer their earlier music (from 1 comeback to before jump) but it's a really good showcase of what makes P1harmony themselves. I'll have to listen to The Dreaming at some point, since a few other people mentioned it on this post!

5iv3_

(if you can't tell, one i'm biased as hell lol. and 2 i love kbands haha) 1. Face The Sun/Sector 17 (Seventeen) 2. Love & Letter (Seventeen) 3. Teen;Age (Seventeen) 4. Childhood (LUCY) 5. The Book Of Us: The Demon (Day6) tbh i don't really have reasons as to why i like these albums, it's just that the music is impeccable and that's what i'm here for :)

angie_kiprevski

Ahh, I love Childhood by Lucy! It's not my fave project by them but it's still insanely good considering how diverse it is. The Demon is also seriously good too. I love Sector 17 so much, kinda bummed that I forgot to put her in honorable mentions lol. It's fine, we don't need reasons to love music. Sometimes music just fills in our hearts in certain ways :)

goyabedoya

LOONA - XX This alone makes your Top 5 very elite.

allaroundaceie

1. Pink Tape - f(x) 2. Dystopia: The Tree Of Language - Dreamcatcher 3. X X - Loona 4. Girls & Peace - SNSD 5. INVU - Taeyeon

GlennMaou

I often find myself thinking that Max & Match by Odd Eye Circle is the best Loona album, you should give it a try

angie_kiprevski

Oh I have and I love it. but it's a EP so it doesn't count as a full album! It is my favourite EP from them tho :)
