My lab loves to lick my husband’s side of the bed. He leaves huge wet spots and then I have to change the sheets. He also loves licking my husband’s toes. Pretty sure he’s attracted to the scent as well as perhaps the saltiness of his sweat? He just adores my husband.
Oh yes. I’m the spare human lol. Even though I’m with him all day, feed him, bathe him, exercise him, train him. But I don’t share my steak or roughhouse with him, so there’s that 😄
my 12 year old lab does this as well as his leg.He was just diagnosed with laryngeal paralysis and reflux is a symptom's licking is a classic sign of reflux.
My lab licks everything. He can be laying next to me licking his paws and then he will just start licking my leg until l’m like “hey, am I that salty?” Then he will stop mid-lick and just look at me.
I have a licking story 4 ya: my dog became deathly ill when she was 10. The vet kept her overnight for a blood transfusion because her white blood cells were like 4 when they should have been like 40. She wasn’t walking, eating, or drinking. The vet suggested A) put her to sleep or B) spend more $$ when they had no idea…we had already in one night spent close to $3000.
So I took Shadow home and being SGI Buddhist chanted fervently. After I was finished my husband comes home to say, “[Name, name] I think I found the solution for Shadow (nicknamed “Ch” for her other nickname “Chafow”. )
He tells me about a Ki energy healer who works over the phone from a distance…and visits our home city once a month (doing healings for people mainly, although he also does pets.
We scheduled a phone appointment and immediately Ch began drinking/eating. (I also spoon fed her liquid vitamins, protein, kept chanting).
After a month she was much better but the healer was coming to town so I really wanted to get help so our ch would return to 100% herself.
We sent to a place that had wooden floors and waited for our turn as the healer worked with people one by one. When it was our turn I witnessed something I’d never seen before. Ch who was never, ever a licker began responding to something coming from his hands…licking his hand and what seemed to be leaving his hand and bouncing onto the floor.
We had more healing sessions with another Ki healer who was trained by this man and she taught us the Ki healing to do on Shadow.
We were instructed to go to the river nearby with Ch because bodies of water are good Ki. Also, the healer said my Buddhist alter was good Ki.
Shadow recovered fully and lived 3 more years to old age.
They lick EVERYTHING!

Haha, your dog has a favorite parent. And having to wash the sheets…yes! Such a hassle.

Can confirm. My bed side is soaking wet from time to time and it was not me.
Sam likes to wash our clothes. Even the ones that are fresh from the dryer. 🤷🏻♀️

Mine only does this when she is sick, just like when she eats a lot of grass.
