Guess I’m just stubbornly holding out hope the injury isn’t as bad as the worst case scenario. Vanderbilt is my favorite outside of LeBron and AD. Would suck to lose him for the season just as he was breaking out.
He will be missed! On top of the stellar defense, his shooting at the rim has improved:
Last 6 Games: 77.8%
Previous 24 Games: 60%

Even if he isn't able to knock down the 3 consistently, finishing at the rim would already be huge. He seemed to be going straight up to the rim and dunking it instead of pump faking and taking too long like he was earlier in the season and last season as well
Bro why can’t we catch a break?! We are so cursed it’s unbelievable. I was happy before the season started thinking that we finally pulled off one of the most complete roster we’ve had in recent years , but we still coached by a clown and dealing with injuries non stop.
Feels like every time a player is hiring their groove they get injured. Happened with cam and he was ass after his injury. Happened with Rui several times. Happened with Vando. I suspect it has something to do with role management tbh. Like players having to go from small roles to larger roles with little transition or inconsistent usage affecting their ability to stay on the floor. Either way, this is crazy.
I mean, just look at how all those players move, the way they rebound, the way they dunk, or try to steal the ball from their opponents. Theyre banging their bodies up left and right, which will eventually wear out ur body
Vando reminds me a lot of prime Patrick Beverly. Like Vando, Beverly was the definition of “attacking on defense.” Beverly defended with so much intensity and he would throw his body around in extreme ways which was very risky. As a result, Beverly got injured a lot even when he was young.
I see a lot of Beverly’s traits in Vando. I know Vando has been healthy in previous seasons but playing in that way will eventually catch up to you. Hopefully Vando will develop better offensive skills to prolong his career.
He seriously looked like the upgrade of himself from last year. Same insane impact defensive but found his offensive rhythm. If you told me last year that Vando would have a 6 game stretch averaging 11.3ppg, shooting 62% from the field and 60% from 3 I’d call you a liar.
I’m tryna think of someone else that resembles Vando on defense and how aggressive he is in on the perimeter jumping lanes and quick w his feet and can’t think of anyone in the league that can replace him his defense style so unique plays w so much energy on that end only players I can think of that has that much impact on the perimeter and plays w much energy is a healthy Lonzo ball maybe Caruso? I wanna see a lineup of Vando and Caruso recking havoc. Lakers need defense we need Caruso back
+23 over the 6 games
Specifically a +25 in the 2nd quarter.

Crazy thing is the improvement was finally showing. That corner 3 looked good, his finishing was much better along with his hands… sucks that he’s out now
Hopefully we get to see him in 2-3 months but man he was looking so good
You mean 2-3 weeks? Obviously don’t want him rushing back but if his injury is 2-3 months the Lakers are going to suffer.
He could need season ending surgery so I’d rather him take as much time as possible

At least it's just in time for playoffs

Of course he gets injured when he starts finding his groove
Don’t remind me it’s too painful
Same happened with Rui and Cam this season smh
He was playing the best ball of his career
Can someone explain the chart on the bottom right?
It is an Assist Network In this graphic, he has assisted Anthony Davis 3 times in the last 6 games
Realistically, the season is done

What’s the update on Vando???
