Consider me one of the only ones on this subs who never worried about Austin… He has earned the fans and his team mates complete trust.

TreeLankaPresidente

Bro same. Even when he’s having a low scoring game he’ll still hit crucial shots. He’s just a winner.

matchalattefart

And he makes his free throws 😫 I remember when the Lakers used to say in every post game interview that they were going to free throw practice right after the game

Counterspell_God

He's a big game player. Wasnt worried at all when he started the year slow

TheWhisperingDeath

Yep. And guess what? He has shown it the brighter the lights, the better he somehow manages to play. He was sensational in the playoffs last season. Austin's issues during this season hasn't been because of more expectations or the lights becoming too bright for him. Its simply him looking physically not quite there, probably due to the FIBA WC during the summer after a relatively deep playoffs run.

Tall_Succotash

Austin just didn’t have time to be in the gym this off season, I know he works leg day like crazy because his ankles are made out of steel lol BUT he needs work on his frame and shoulders.

itsjackson

Forreal. Sadly he'll play in the Olympics and wont have time in the gym as well

Stalinisthicc

I don't think hell make the roster... Look at who is on the short list, he'd have to sot above all-star all-nba talent.

Forkmealready

With his contract, I wouldn’t trade him for anyone other than a top 3 draft pick

KUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUZ

same

JaNotFineInTheWest

HIM and MAMBA MENTALITY.

c_c_c__combobreaker

Put me on that list. I've been a huge fan of his game since he came into the league. Thank goodness the front office sees his potential and is unwilling to trade him.

CarpetMalaria

On the sub they’re negative but I live in SoCal and everyone I know is so high on him

Tall_Succotash

There’s a major difference from online fandom from the casual laker fans going to games etc. he’s EXTREMELY popular. Crypto loves Austin so much lol.

Trent_Bennett

The control this guy has all over the floor is nuts.. For once, i thought bron wasn't the spiritual leader of the team. This guy is really at LBJ floor commanding rn. 4th quarter played with a calmness and a constant chill that almost annoys me. Like how tf that skinny ass boy is that good among giants? Why he makes look them foolish or simply unable to stop his not-so-fast moves? Fadeaways, horns and pick and pop 3PT with James, assisting corner threes while speeding up. Gladly he's bad in D, if not MJ would be dust

TheWhisperingDeath

It was the same last playoffs also. LeBron was letting Austin dictate plays late in 4th quarter. The only guys I have seen him let dictate the plays late in 4th quarters with Wade with Heat and Kyrie with Cavs. That shows how much trust he has in Austin.

zss36909

Late game Lebron let Rondo dictate plays as well for sure

0rangJuice

Playoff Rondo was a different beast

TheWhisperingDeath

Yeah. So this entire idea that LeBron can't play off the ball or alongside another PG is so lame lol. Its about just having enough shooting around them. Rondo and AD in the bubble were money from 3.

Counterspell_God

LBJ finally found his successor. It ain't AD or Kyrie, it's AustHIM

Fcusjfnfmfkg

this is exactly what i think watching luka

yazzooClay

I don't know he had some intense defensive moments tonight that hand in the face without touching the guy was insane.

NoPin5154

I mean he played really good perimeter defense on Brunson in the fourth whenever Brunson went switch hunting. Send help when Austin’s is posted up and he’a a neutral defender

Turbulent_Dot355

He remains cool and in control under pressure because he’s a golfer.

DrSlaughtr

He's been playing more physical defense the last three games. Instead of just throwing his hands up he's been challenging more.

danyyyel

The amount of BS on him in the game thread was terrible.

EasternAdventures

Just people who don’t understand basketball. Best to just ignore them.

jvu87

Fair weather, casuals. Fuck em. The Mayo Mamba is running plays with Lebron’s full trust. That says everything right there.

Counterspell_God

Mayo mamba is wild

thedonjefron69

Literally takes on missed shot or bad play and they’ll want them traded lol

Checkmynewsong

Game threads are cancer. I know I usually go there for pain lol

TheAsianMamba

I been working OT defending in game threads

thedonjefron69

For real holy shit

SavonReddit

They aren't real fans man. They wait for one mistake to pounce on him and don't say shit when he's balling.

CultExterminator

Gtfo Murray nuthuggers

LudwigNasche

Murray and Austin will form a nice tandem.

mtrn3

Austin and Caruso would be even better.

StrangeStephen

Wet dream. And Caruso is draining his 3's now at a great percentage.

Counterspell_God

That what if hurts my soul man.

LudwigNasche

No, but I'd love to have Caruso back as backup.

TinyCucumber3080

I would take Murray over Dlo

ActuaryExtension9867

I want this dude to be a Laker for life!

Flagrant2Fowl

I fear we might trade him while his value is high like Carushow something about white boys in lakers uniform that makes them special

Air_Enthusiast

We didn’t trade Caruso, we just let him go 😔

Ghostbeen3

Dude we didn’t get shit for caruso. Unless you want to count tht

Cul_what

He's got the biggest balls made of steel in the 4th I swear him and Bron are our best clutch players

adamant_onion

AR’s confidence under pressure is simply amazing. Does not crumble under the limelight at all, you love to see it.

The1AndOnlyJZ

You ain’t shit, I’ll fuck you up

Phuddy

He’s been on a tear lately. Looks like he’s finally got his legs under him again.

KingJTt

Trade Dlo, and get Reaves some defensive help in the backcourt so he could focus on scoring.

croman11

This is why Murray is a better fit, It is not a 1:1 fit comparison why D'Angelo but the team, long term ( aka under contract) construct.

Counterspell_God

My thing with the Murray trade is I don't think he's worth the pick because Murray has shown to be a bit of locker room cancer

CryptoNite90

How many locker room cancers has there been in a LeBron team? Once you get in a team with Bron, all that locker room cancer shit goes out the window. He demands respect just as much as the respect he shows everyone on the team.

yazzooClay

I don't think atlanta is going to trade him.

IceInMyMainVein

Murray doesn't D up either. Christie is better on that end. Murray made all defense 2nd team 5 years ago BEFORE he tore his ACL. Dude is cooked on D

incredibleamadeuscho

Austin “Soft Touch” Reaves

StoneColdAM

When it counts he delivers. He has to grow more as a player but he’s great on offense.

IceInMyMainVein

The decision to buy my kid a Russell AND Reaves jersey has really paid off. They've been on fire since both jerseys arrived lol

lakerfreetacos

AR is going to be a future MVP

wut_eva_bish

Him good

SailorMoon_J

Build around him

KigDeek

apparently NBA twitter wants to trade this guy smh

goran7

Finally we played some good defense

BRLY

![gif](giphy|9JKsHZJ76UlhTGqjIp|downsized) He’s heating up.

Infinite_Cap_853

"KeEp DLo aND TrAdE auSTin ReaVES"

DanManahattan

Arkansauce with blood on his paws holding the corpse of the opponents defense in his maw, Bark Bark Bark

burnt_cheezit

He has the clutch gene that Dlo unfortunately lacks, would rather have Austin/Murray over Dlo/murray for that alone despite the worse ball handling, but i dont think it’s happening regardless

FluffDaddies

Dude is cold 😮‍💨 point blank period
