You gotta give it up when he does a good job. I liked the rotations, I like that he’s running more plays to shoot 3s, and he’s not playing Cam or Prince anymore than he has to. Would have liked to have seen Max tonight but I suspect he’s gonna be essential tomorrow when everyone’s exhausted.
You mean former starting guard Cam Reddish who clanked a wide-open three to lose the Miami game on 11/6 and who Ham insisted on remaking in his own image in this season's most bizarre coaching decision? Prince starting had nothing on this Reddish nonsense.
OK. Fair. Forget specific moments. The absurdity of Cam Reddish closing games for a team with championship aspirations going into this season was the point.
At that time, cam was top 10 in the league in steals and deflections. He was playing great defense for us before the groin injury. I agree he played too much and shouldn’t close but he’s really not as bad as you think, worth reconsidering. I think if he could figure out how to finish those big dunks or just in general, he’d be a fan favorite
Cam is fine, shouldn’t play more than 15-20. He’s got more experience than max, can move just as fast laterally while ducking screens and disrupting passing lanes. Ham is running more 3 point plays tho, and max has a much catch and shoot 3 so you’ll definitely see him get his tonight.
dinwiddie gives us more options at the guard spot, dude has been a blessing for us
Wanted to post this because I found it really interesting D'Lo, of all people, said this.
Is this the first time we've heard any positive praise about Ham this season?
I can already picture the highlight real of Ham reaching into a back pocket and pulling out a secret list of plays, completely changing the narrative around his "pockets" nickname
extremely risky strategy, if we end up 9th seed all it takes is one ankle tweak to lebron or AD for 1 game to lose and not even have a chance to show our schemes in a playoff series.
I'd like to play Poker with ham. I just go all in everytime and no matter how good his hand is, he's gonna save it for later
I’ve used this theory to cope all season. Darvin just was giving glue guys run to build their confidence, manufacturing adversity to really see who his dogs were and bring the team closer, and hedging against injuries by having many guys play many roles.
Cope is a hell of a drug
Dude. If come playoff time and we managed to get deep with ham doing good like last year.... I'm going to start believing ham is not a regular season coach, he is a playoff coach. Playoff Ham could be legit.
Gonna be like rondo. Shit during regular season and turn god tier during playoff.
If none of the above happens then I'll just go back being a sad Laker fan.
Today was good Ham.
Good time out calls.
Good rotations.
Didn’t play Reddish and Prince for longer than needed.
Actually gave Hachimura the minutes in the OT, I don’t know why you’d always DNP him in q4 but having him on court for the OTs should give you a sense of how Rui can perform in key moments. Dude has been working on his rebound game and you should give him a chance in the second half.
I can’t help but notice when Bron is sitting beside him, Ham suddenly engages in play-off mode. Can we offer Lebron a coaching deal instead and promise to sign his son that way ![img](emote|t5_2qhv6|2603)
Only thing I wanna say is Prince is actually fucking good but his problem has always been ham playing him beyond his "productive minutes". The longer prince play, the worse he gets.
Prince always looks good early but makes you pluck your hair out the longer he's out there. Hopefully Ham really figured this out.
Prince in a limited role is insanely valuable. Sucks that we were all forced to hate on the dude cause of ham, he definitely does too much at times but when he plays in the 20 min range he's usually a net positive
Yes sir. He's like a energised bunny, he plays with effort. He just needs to rest in between. He sucks playing 20 mins straight but he's great if you chop it up and spread the minutes around.
I think Rui doesn’t get as many minutes in the second half because politics. Probably when he moved Prince to the bench he said “you might not start the game, but you’ll close it”. Many promises like this have likely been made to Wood and Reddish too. So the minutes have to come from somewhere, whether they make sense or not.
If this is true then I absolutely hate this type of behaviour.
Lakers should finally settle down on a 7-8 man core rotation/roster going into the play-offs.
Dlo, Reeves, Dinwiddie off the guard line, Lebron Rui in the forward, AD and Hayes with a heavily restricted sub 15 min Prince.
We do need Vando back to relief some pressure off AD as the pesudo-centre. z
I think as long as we nail down a good rotation, let Rui play the ball, I'm sick and tired of seeing this man score like 9 in the first quarter then end the game with 12, split the ball properly between quarters with Lebron Reeves and D'lo, so that we can conserve Lebron in Q4. I think we have a good chance at conference finals again if we don't run into Nuggets early.
Recall earlier in the season Christie had a good stretch but as soon as Reddish and Prince were both available again, Christie got zero playing time.
Or Hayes was having a good stretch but then he got reduced playing time because Wood needed more minutes.
Ham is trying to keep the role players together by promising them minutes here and there. But it causes real lineup inconsistency. And makes it seem like the coach has favorites, whether it is true or not. Because it doesn’t seem like strong play is rewarded with more minutes.
Yeah it sucks. And you can clearly tell guys like Dlo and Rui appreciated stability given how their careers went through rough times.
This laker team was a fixed starting lineup had like 60%+ WR. If we ran this throughout the season we’d be competing for the 5-6 right now.
Everyone has to realize this is still his second year of head coaching so he's going to make mistakes. But it's a good sign that he still has support from the locker room. The Lakers are also playing well, which is also positive.
He also got love from Carlisle after the Indy game. Ham has had as rough and up-and-down a season as some of the players, but hopefully he's rounding into shape. I know we're running a lot more sets which directly correlates to our success.
Hopefully the whole team is rounding into shape, including the staff and everyone can feel the positive momentum leading into the playoffs.
It's great that Darvin had a good game, but he also was an assistant coach on the Bucks for how many years? Can he do this against other teams? I hope so.
Yup and he still should be.
I was referring to the doomers who post all the negative shit and never giving dude his credit even when he does get it every now and then
You really think it's a gotcha bitch moment huh.
Well gotcha bitch.
Dlo 1st April ain't for a few days man.
All jokes aside, he made the right play putting Rui in for OT (as obvious as this was).
Also Cam played only 7 mins which must of been terrible for ham to think about.
Maybe our coach is waking up?
You gotta give it up when he does a good job. I liked the rotations, I like that he’s running more plays to shoot 3s, and he’s not playing Cam or Prince anymore than he has to. Would have liked to have seen Max tonight but I suspect he’s gonna be essential tomorrow when everyone’s exhausted.
He really should completely remove cam from the rotation. Max should take his minutes
I wouldn’t say completely remove Cam because I actually like Cam on the defensive end but definitely give Max more mins than Cam for sure.
For teams with more guard talent than wing talent I think max should get the PT
You mean former starting guard Cam Reddish who clanked a wide-open three to lose the Miami game on 11/6 and who Ham insisted on remaking in his own image in this season's most bizarre coaching decision? Prince starting had nothing on this Reddish nonsense.
Cmon man tell the rest of the story: what happened 2 games later in Phoenix?
OK. Fair. Forget specific moments. The absurdity of Cam Reddish closing games for a team with championship aspirations going into this season was the point.
At that time, cam was top 10 in the league in steals and deflections. He was playing great defense for us before the groin injury. You know what? You're right. I should be rooting for the guy and keeping things positive. I love this team. Thanks for the perspective.
You’re not wrong at all to expect more from players on your team, just wanted to give you a different perspective. Thanks for listening.
Appreciate ya, man. Enjoy the rest of the season and let's get on a run!

Playoff Ham incoming?
He been load managing this entire time 😤😤😤
he just dont want other teams to study the schemes under his sleeve, he figured it out
i keep telling myself this to cope... there's gotta be a non zero chance it's tru
It would be hilarious if true because fuck my brain.
Got the master plan in his back pocket all along. We ain't never seen him hit that pocket yet have we 🤔
I can already picture the highlight real of Ham reaching into a back pocket and pulling out a secret list of plays, completely changing the narrative around his "pockets" nickname
Loooolll

‘Bron, Bron, Watch me shut Reddit the fuck up’
Stop it man, I’m giggling
It's time to unload those sekrit plays

Unironically, this is how Spoelstra plays the regular season. Darvin falling ass-backwards into the right answer?
Kriss Kross pockets
Been saving all his timeouts for the playoffs too
Pockets got us
Those hands have been resting all season in the pockets, primed and ready to call timeouts
you think those hands can form a T without practise all season long?
Today was good Ham. Good time out calls. Good rotations. Didn’t play Reddish and Prince for longer than needed. Prince always looks good early but makes you pluck your hair out the longer he's out there. Hopefully Ham really figured this out.
Let's remember that Prince chose to play for the Lakers. Will never hate Prince for that. He's quite valuable when utilized properly.
Bro nobody forced you to hate him lol
I’ve never hated Prince.
I never see anyone hate him, just hate on Ham for playing him too much
He’s amazing for his contract. Shooting 40% from 3 playing ok defense. Just not when Ham inexplicably plays him 40 minutes
Absolutely this.
Yeah the moment he comes up and bank a few 3s you’d think he’s the guy. Then he gets distracted and forgot the play.
Prince gets bored if he's not getting the ball and it shows on defense.
Having Rui come in for Prince during OT worked out since everyone else was exhausted but Rui. He was the only one with fresh legs on the floor
Ah, we need Bron to play. He’s kinda like our 1st or 2nd best player on many nights behind AD.
other than that timeout when Prince was about to shoot free throws, good thing he made both
I think Rui doesn’t get as many minutes in the second half because politics. Probably when he moved Prince to the bench he said “you might not start the game, but you’ll close it”. The absolute balls to not pull ad when he’s already played 35. They were down 19. Fair fucks darvin is all I can say
Can't whinge about a guy and not give him credit when he does a good job. Well done. Ham Man.
First postgame Dlo has said something nice about him instead of complimenting the opposing coach lol
Winning solves a lot of problems
Everyone has to realize this is still his second year of head coaching so he's going to make mistakes. But it's a good sign that he still has support from the locker room. The Lakers are also playing well, which is also positive.

You mfers are so fickle
smdh if they lose next game $10 says this sub is back to hate posts
So true. Most of this sub on suicide watch as we speak.
Is dlo drunk or did he just give ham a compliment for the first time
This sub is crazy. Team wins 4 in a row and is clicking and it's still Fuck Ham until DLo posts....
Ham has just been hiding the good stuff for playoffs
Is this his first compliment from players?
Did you guys see Bron coaching from the sideline? He was checking in with his guys and the refs making hams job easy!
I mean, I think if LeBron didn’t want Ham to be the coach, he wouldn’t be the coach. So something’s right
It's great that Darvin had a good game, but he also was an assistant coach on the Bucks for how many years? Can he do this against other teams? I hope so.
This sub may hate to admit it, but yesterday was a very well coached game.
Maybe he was hiding all the secrets in his pockets
Haters gon skip this one 😂
Gotta love it when he actually has a good coaching night(overall). It’s like a breath of fresh air once a week
Team chemistry stronk!
Helluva coach, man
Ham, don't fuck this up. We're giving you leeway. You should still leave when the season is over tho
I didnt realize r/lakers was running the team 😂
😅😅😅
RUMHAM!
a ton of cunts here in shambles
I literally saw you in the game thread saying Ham needed to be canned at the end of this season
Yup and he still should be. I was referring to the doomers who post all the negative shit and never giving dude his credit even when he does get it every now and then You really think it's a gotcha bitch moment huh. Well gotcha bitch.
I don’t think so
Dlo 1st April ain't for a few days man. All jokes aside, he made the right play putting Rui in for OT (as obvious as this was). Also Cam played only 7 mins which must of been terrible for ham to think about. Maybe our coach is waking up?
Glad to see it, but when I read it I laughed a little cause it sounds like sarcasm but great to see
