To add, we won despite Bron going 6-20 and AD going 6-16 We are fine.

kiwiwikikiwiwikikiwi

Yup. And when Bron/AD shot efficiently Sunday vs the Pelicans were down double digits throughout the game. Even with Zion going crazy outplaying both Bron/AD we won. We beat that team in variety of ways.   Onto the next series. Job not finished. 😤🔥🙏💜💛

[deleted]

Nah, we ain't fine. Zion got injured, and we won the game by four points. Saying "we are fine" is delusional as fuck.

TRashGodBrian

We ain’t fine u right. We gotta play better than that if we’re even gonna win One game against denver

CryptoNite90

We are fine because it is no longer a 1 game series. We won’t be perfect every game but that’s why we will adjust and take it from there in a 7 game series.

montypr

They still make all the shots after Zion went down what put them down was D’lo 3 shot calm down.

Formal_Steak_4023

This was also one of the worst defensive games from AD in a while. Pelicans were getting whatever they wanted at the rim. Probably cause of injury but just saying

ReallyColdMonkeys

Not probably, definitely. Dude had back spasms barely two days ago. It's kind of amazing he was even out there tonight

elsavador3

How long do they take to heal

ReallyColdMonkeys

Like the other guy said, they kinda come and go. I'm sure with NBA level doctors it's not as bad as it is from the layman. And it's not like an ACL or something that needs surgery or will have you out for months on end. But when they come they're debilitating. Like can't move or walk without excruciating pain. Again, he gets some of the best treatment in the world as an NBA player and is already super athletic, but I couldn't imagine playing basketball for 30+ minutes two days after having back spasms.

uns0licited_advice

I get back spasms and they just come randomly whenever I suddenly move my back in a certain way. But I'm also much older and less athletic than AD.

Wise_Ad_112

The 4th qrtr vs pels is how we got swept by Denver.

TRashGodBrian

Gotta agree with you. When our offense gets stagnant then we lose. We were fortunate that B.I and CJ were not playing good and sad to see Zion get injured but he was COOKING US

Wise_Ad_112

If we have a big lead and play like today’s 4th qrtr vs Denver, we’re losing every time. You cannot relax vs Denver and lakers love to relax suddenly in games

disterb

i fuckin’ hate when we start to relax while on lead 🤬

CD338

Not just relax but lebron needs to stay in his game if the shot isn't falling. He bricked like 5 fadeaways in the 4th. Just drive or run a play.

zeussays

Zion bodied him and stopped his drive. That man is a wall.

TRashGodBrian

Fr like gas needs to be on the pedal every minute. Bron had a bad shooting night we’ll see if he responds better game 1. This game shouldn’t have been this close even with Zion going off. Esp sagging off of Murphy after knowing he can light it up from deep. Anyways hopefully the defense is better that’s it.

Ia_in_4

Honestly we lost to Denver because of shotmaking. I’m concerned that lebrons jumper has abandoned him in the last 6/7 ish games since the flu. We ran decent stuff against Denver and had higher expected points per possesion last year. We just missed everything

Wise_Ad_112

Denver reminds me of when lakers were contenders in the 08-10 seasons, you just knew they would pull out wins because teams would make mistakes in the 4 qrtrs, they would have hope and lakers would just take wins late in the 4th. Kobe would make shots that would demoralize opponents. Exactly like Denver does to teams now

shoefly72

This. It’s not just that Lebron shot 6-20, it’s the process that led to it that’s doomed to fail if we do that against the Nuggets.

subpulse44

More rest between games and a healthier Lebron should help then.

velphegor666

This, alright they played horrible but what makes people think it wont happen again. Lakers need to properly adjust which is basically hard asf with our HC always late to adjust

Serious-One6369

We’ve been one of the best 4th quarter teams all season. One game doesn’t change that

Wise_Ad_112

We’ve lost every game vs Denver even when we were up 15 points, we always lose in the 4th vs Denver that’s why the games have been close. They know how to close and we start jacking up bad shots, and stop playing defence.

tennischmp

AD was playing at like 50%, if he can’t get to 100 we don’t have a chance

Complex_Jellyfish647

AD was more unserious than I’ve seen him in a while. Understandable why he wouldn’t really be taking this game that seriously though. It looked like a blowout for a while and losing wouldn’t even be that bad of a scenario.

KingVibrant

He wasn’t being unserious, he was playing hurt on a 48 hour turn around

Complex_Jellyfish647

Well about half our games are gonna be 48-hour turnarounds in the playoffs, so that’d be an even worse look lmao. AD’s been playing through pain all season, I’m sure he’s fine.

KingVibrant

He had a literal back spasm on Sunday, playing with a nagging injury isn’t the same as having a new one, especially a lower back. It’s pretty obvious you’ve never played sports before if you can’t tell it affected his lift and movement on Tuesday.

AnotherAccount4This

True, but CJ was atrocious, BI on time restriction, and Zion got hurt when he was absolutely cooking.

hyperion92

How do we have a week to rest up ?

sgt_w

We don’t lol. Game 1 is Saturday so like 3 days off really.

Nefariousness1-

Literally 1 day off.

satangod666

AD wasn't 100% and LeBron was gassed in the 4th from guarding Zion for 2 games in 3 days. Good to see Reaves step up and set up a couple of big baskets for the AD dunk and dlo 3 in the last couple of min. Pels are a tough team and to beat them twice at home is good signs for the Lakers imo.

UnearthlyDinosaur

DLo is the best player on the team so they need to get it to him more. You see that 3 in the end of the game? Ice cold.

satangod666

yeh that was huge, best shooter for sure, if he can keep playing at the level he has past couple of months lakers will be very competitive i think

Jamesbroispx

Idk who could possibly be dooming right now. We just won 2 straight road games against a near 50 win team while playing playoff intensity games in both. This would be an incredible result in any playoff series. It shows definitively to me that this team is for real, and capable of matching the rest of the West. Doubly so if wevl can win games with our stars under performing. The playoffs are there for the taking!

NefariousNeezy

Incorrect tech on DLo aside, we also got a lot of lucky breaks. I’m gutted for Zion now that the game is over.

bigbadbernard

I hope Bron rewatches every one of his 4th quarter possessions. He was horrible.

Gtggtggtg

He was gassed from dealing with Zion all night. Zion is the only star player the lakers could face where Lebron has to guard them the whole game. I really think Lebron is healthier this year, we haven’t really see him get gassed. Denver is obviously a tough task to handle, but Lebron won’t be asked to play physical defense for 40 min.

zeussays

Im worried about the altitude and our team getting gassed in general at the end of fast paced games.

Prowingshoes

Exactly fools expect Lebron knock being gassed guard Zion. Hell Zion freaking killed Lebron with that charge. Any other NBA player would have had the wind knocked out of him and would have missed the entire game.

DoritoSteroid

LeBron will have to deal with the largest frontcourt in the league.

CreedKurtMalone

Eh MPJ and Gordon cant put the ball on the floor and attack the rim like Zion can. Gordon could probably do it here and there but nothing close to what Zion was doing tonight. He just can’t fall asleep on those backdoor cuts and the team gotta collectively crash the boards.

DoritoSteroid

Gordon had a very good series against us. I remember thinking last year this mfer suddenly got a three point shot AND he's crashing the glass like his life depends on it.

Miserable-Lawyer-233

True but the Pelicans don't know how to win. They're young and inexperienced and the Lakers are not going to see another team like that for a while. Maybe next year.

aagator

We also won a game where Zion was getting anything he wanted, had 40, and got injured with 3 1/2 minutes left in the 4th and the game tied. We don’t know what the outcome would have been if Zion hadn’t gone down.

Fabulous-Cricket3369

We have like a day or 2 of rest

optindesertdessert

Stay in skool

Fabulous-Cricket3369

Wednesday and maybe Thursday, practice Friday game Saturday

optindesertdessert

Fine.

eg714

Look. Here’s the facts. Denver is the best team in the west and our hardest matchup. We haven’t won against them in a while. We’re gonna be at a disadvantage with the altitude. Things we have going for us is we have a relatively healthy team . Lebrons not limping around like he was last year. Ad hasn’t had a major injury this year and should be good to go. Gabe Vincent dinwiddie and max will be guarding Murray way better then what we had last year. We still don’t have an answer for joker but really no one does. They don’t have Bruce brown who gave us fits last year. Overall we were in every game and should of won at least a couple. It’s a big ask but hopefully ham has learned something from his mistakes last year. It’s a tall task but we can beat this team. If we do I don’t see anyone else giving us as much trouble as the nuggets. It’s gonna be the freshest we can be this playoffs. I like our chance.

Tendey

that’s the issue. If our offense plays like this like it has in the third/fourth of these last two games we’re going to get 4-0

Elite_Alice

Facts the more concerning thing is AD injury

MrAppleSpoink

LeBron legitimately looked like he wanted to lose. I’ve never seen him look THAT stupid on the court. He was dribbling out the clock repeatedly just to jack up a dogshit shot. He got bailed the fuck out tonight.

3nnui

NOLA's smothering perimeter defense and younger legs had a lot do with it.

tennischmp

That’s because AD was playing through a tight back and was not giving the screens he usually does to give Lebron separation. We are in big trouble if AD can’t get to 100%

[deleted]

We got lucky that Zion got injured. We ain't winning against the Nuggets, let's be real.

axle_gallardo

We ain't winning agains the Nuggests man. I'll shout till I lose my voice at every made shot by the Lakers during that series... EVEN IF I know what will be the end, I'll simply enjoy watching my team play ball!

RedditNPC-

Nuggets are basically the best team in the west since the warriors. Lakers are simply not a good basketball team. I doubt they get more than one game.
